Looks like a great idea but doesnt really replace an actual video doorbell.
I wanted this but just like you I have a stormdoor so it doesnt really work too well
Completely understandable. Since I have my storm door in the way, I wouldn't rely on it for monitoring everything. Fortunately in my case I have another camera which captures my entire yard and door area at all times as well so the door camera is kind of just a bonus for me.
Do I have to use the chime or can I skip it and connect directly?
If you would like to use the chime on the door, I would recommend going with the E330 model as it has a louder speaker on board. This one makes noise, but it's not as loud as the E330 (unless you use the chime of course).
Can multiple codes be used for the keypad?
Hi, yes every user gets its own code and fingerprints
How is the camera height for taller adults?
If you're really close then its not that great, but as you approach it, it catches the entire person no problem at all.
Does the door make a noise too or just the chime?
The door makes a noise from the outside when the doorbell button is pressed. Nothing on the inside except from the chime. Might be a way to play on both but I haven't checked / tried to do it.
Can the lock part be changed out?
Not that I know of
What is the lock rating? Convenient but im more concerned with the actual security
I'm not entirely sure. However, I'm willing to bet at least 75% of all houses in have one of the cheaper model deadbolts you can get from Home Depot. As I said in another comment, 95% of the time someone is breaking into a house (if not more), they likely aren't bothering with picking a lock. Most of the time its through forced entry or breaking a window
Great idea but the camera needs to be a little higher
It's not completely ideal but it works. Being able to angle the camera would 100% fix and improve the idea I think.
This would be perfect if they let you angle the camera instead of being fixed
Yep.. I thought the same exact thing since I have the storm door in the way. If I could angle it to the side, I would be able to capture a lot more by my door.

He probably has but almost every lock can be picked pretty easily. 95% of the time if someone is breaking into your house, they likely aren't going to be someone smart or patient enough to pick a lock. Majority of the time it's forced entry or breaking a window. For locking up your bike or motorcycle I totally get it, but for houses I wouldn't be too worried about how easy the lock can be picked.
