I've tried out a few of these so called neck coolers. None of them worked in the summer outdoor heat. They are OK for exercising in indoor environments. The best neck cooler that worked for me in the outdoor summer heat was a silicone horseshoe shaped one that you fill up with water and freeze it. Take it out of the freezer, put it around your neck and it REALLY cools you off while working in the yard or taking a long walk. Only costs $30.00 too. Lasts for 2 hours and is AMAZING!
That's the fault of a 'fan'. A fan can only cool you up to a certain temperature point. Past that, and the moving air is only going to bring fresh 'heat' to you. That's why some of these have a cooling pad which should work in higher heat, and depending on how it's built, also provide some cooler air for the fans themselves. Although obviously it wouldn't be a miracle worker. A silicone one with frozen water can be dangerous. Your neck absolutely should NOT be frosted. In fact, the temperature difference between your neck and the outside air shouldn't be too large to begin with, otherwise you may suffer from thermal shock. You may feel significantly cooler, but at some point you may start suffering pain, stiffness, dizziness and such. This effect can be so significant that some more sensitive people leaving shops with AC on too low of a setting into the scorching heat of the outside air may pass out. So, while I'm fully in agreement that a block of ice isolated from skin on your neck does help cooling you down, it needs to be used smartly. It's absolutely not something anyone can use without any consideration for anything.

I purchased the Comlife on Amazon on 7/7/24. Amazon offered a $30 off coupon. With tax the total was $105.49. I waited to test it under actual conditions on the following weekend. The Comlife was FANTASTIC!. I helped a friend at an outdoor market for two days, temperatures were in the upper 80s in the Upper Midwest and high humidity. With frequent breaks in the shade after heavy exertion and I could not have been more impressed for the price. After 2 hours on cool setting and low fan it was still at 66% power and it took less than 30 minutes to charge to 100% with a Milwaukee M18 Top Off power supply. I used it for 2 days and it was FANTASTIC for the price. The best part after getting back home I am ready to watch my favorite UA-cam Channel and Project Farm is testing neck fans. Put in a portable AC unit, and convert power if you're able to. Saw a guy two weeks ago at an event who did this to his box truck. Probably much cheaper than fixing his old box truck.
Have been using these for several years now. Prices have come way down. I’m on my fourth one. My air conditioning neck fan will only last about hour and a half. Still worth it as I work in an open facility with high humidity. Great job 👏.
Maybe order a second pair to always have one charging? Or if you can use them while charging get a couple portable battery banks with the same idea. Stay cool!!
Im working in a garage with no ac and was just thinking about buying one of these, but didnt know which one to get or how worth it it was to spend more money. This video is perfect! This kind of product comparison is great

Your methodology and innovativeness with respect to what aspect you test and the performance of those items is incredibly impressive. As to your review of neck fans, I am truly appreciative of you doing so. I have often wondered how well these things perform and you answered the question better than any UL lab could conceive. Thank you!
There's now somewhat affordable portable split units like the Midea Porta Split. I expect that they'll almost certainly sweep the field in terms of noise, performance and efficiency.
As I watch this, we’ve been without power for 7 days here in Houston, TX after Hurricane Beryl knocked out power for 2.5 million people. We have a battery-powered O2 Cool fan that uses 8 D-cell batteries. The fan will not die! Batteries easily last over 24 hours. Bought a case of D-cell batteries at Home Depot a few days ago. Power company is finally fixing the downed pole in our neighborhood, so may have power tonight! If you purchase any fan for use during a power outage, don’t get one with rechargeable batteries, as there’s no power to charge them.
@@dannydaw59 If an hour in accessory mode kills your battery, you need a new battery. I watch movies, typically close to two hours, on my laptop with the audio Bluetoothed to the car stereo. Never a problem and I have one of those small lithium ion car booster packs (that never sees much use) as backup anyway. Simples.
Thank God you do these reviews, because I know I'd never be able to do it myself, and you do it better than anywhere else...ever...period. Thankyou bud🙏🏻.
This is fantastic, seems like your always reviewing stuff I'm just about to buy. Your best choice for car jumpstarters with built in air compressors has already paid off five times between my car, family, friends, and two strangers.
I own a Torras Coolify 2 and I love it! It really feels like you're cooling down, especially in the hot, dry summers we have here. The plates not only cools down in summer but, it also warms up for winter use. It is a bit pricey, but I got it on sale for $170 and it's worth it.
This is a great video. My wife and I have 3 of the Scurry brand and 1 Arctic Air brand which looks similar to the Amacool you reviewed. The Scurry battery lasts a very long time but the fan blades get caught in hair often Arctic bat lasts less by maybe 30 mins but does not catch hair and has vents in the back for neck. These things really are useful. We have been hesitant to purchase more expensive brands. We both feel a lot more informed now. Thank you.
My daughter bought me a neck fan for Christmas 2 years ago it's the Opolar NF171. It has six speeds and brushless motors so it's real quiet. I love it!
Modern car seats have sealed leather. Basically has a plastic coating on it for durability. Which also means that regular leather cleaners and conditioners are useless. Just make sure whatever you use, test it on a part of the seat that isn't visible to make sure it doesn't damage it. I've always just used diluted degreaser like Purple Power and a soft bristle brush. Just make sure to wipe off any residue with a clean damp cloth afterwards. I've detailed cars since the late 90s.
I never cared anything about these fans, but now I just may buy that chillgo or whatever it's called. It could definitely come in handy at times even though I'd feel stupid wearing it. It seems perfect for delivery drivers or mail delivery on foot. Yet another great video!
I use office folder. Manila . I use up behind visor to block. Sun or window. I have to move it around a lot but usually have two folder. S. Makes a huge difference to get sun off me
Thanks so much for putting together this comparison. My wife and I have had a Jisulife for over two years and really like them. Had I known what you presented before I purchased, I would have bought the Chillgo as you suggested.
I bought the Foldable Neck Fan model F029A from Amazon after watching this video. It came today and I am pleasantly surprised by the quality. It works really well.
Professional cyclist are finding that cooling on the back of neck is hazardous because it fools you in to feeling cooler while your body is dangerously overheating.
@@myownsite If a little breeze breaks them, that's fragile. Even feathers survive this, and they are fragile. So they are more fragile than a feather. I hope this clears everything up for you.
Nice! DW bought me a WOOZOO desk-sized fan at Costco. It has a remote, oscillates side-to-side and up and down separately, has a "breeze" function, dark mode for sleep, 5 velocities and seems to move a decent amount of air. I think it was $69 at Costco.
@@ProjectFarmYou know what, this would be more effective out here where I'm at in the socal high desert. It's very dry and sweat does act as a coolant when evaporating.
I think it's worth mentioning that the Scurry style fans can be adjusted even more than ChillGo, directing air vectors to exactly where you want it to go including angles to avoid the eyes but still getting your cheeks or forehead. It can also be placed on a table. There are also versions with significantly more airspeed and runtime, e.g. HandFan 10000mAh

It would be best if you compared all the Bluetooth speaker brands in terms of price and how loud they get, as well as sound quality.
My big swamp cooler just broke at work this couldn't have came at a better time, Thanks!
You are welcome! Thanks for sharing.
As a tree service worker with broken truck ac this information is a blessing
Thanks for sharing.
What brand(s) have you used/liked?
Maybe order a second pair to always have one charging? Or if you can use them while charging get a couple portable battery banks with the same idea. Stay cool!!
@@ashleehouse5204 The one I have at home, which I use while doing yard work, is the “Hotsales”. It has 3 speeds and lasts about an hour and a half.

As a postal worker I was looking at these on Amazon wondering which to buy. Perfect timing thank you!
Thank you for sharing!
Im working in a garage with no ac and was just thinking about buying one of these, but didnt know which one to get or how worth it it was to spend more money. This video is perfect! This kind of product comparison is great
Thanks!
This is great! I bought mine at random thinking they were all just variations of the same thing. The pages are all filled with marketing claim garbage and very little facts. Super helpful as always.
Thanks! Glad to hear!
No matter the product, you always manage to find a way to compare them in fair and meaningful ways that provide a lot of useful information.
Great job!
Thanks!
You know how you talk about something and then Google/Amazon gives you ads for it? That's how this video felt, I was just talking about these with some co-workers yesterday! Great vid. I'd love to see box/tower fans compared also.
Thanks!
Man I was just talking about these while moving, would’ve been nice but now I know what to get thanks to you. Thank you for your unbiased and honest reviews
Thanks and you are welcome.
What I love most about reviews like this in particular is the measurement gadgets that you use.
Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks to this video I just ordered a chillgo fan. This channel is too underrated. Thank you
Thanks!
Did it come in yet? What are your personal thoughts on it? I work outside and bought a shitty 3xAA powered neck fan and it kills the batteries in about 10 hours and didn’t even move air that well
@@danteortega6510 unfortunately estimated time arrival was middle September so I cancelled the order 🥲🥲

Great point!
First time on your channel. Thank you for not droning on with your personal opinion on every neck fan. Just the facts, straightforward and quick. I’ll definitely be checking out your other videos.
Thanks for watching!
You need to give Cousin Eddie a raise in pay so he can buy some Project Farm merchandise. He asked me not to say he asked me to ask you, so don't say anything about it to him. Thanks for all your great videos.
Lol, thank you!
Purchased several neck fans from Amazon and found a clear winner. A brand by Hotsales 6000 mAh with 3 speeds. I love it.

BRILLIANT review once again my man! I still don't know how you find the energy to keep doing this but I'm very glad that you do!!!!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
YES! Please do a fan video. So many claim to be quiet but, IMO, rarely are.
Thanks for the suggestion.
@@ProjectFarm Todd, I have a slight take on the fan review. You have a collection of tool battery platforms. How about fans that work on those tool battery platforms?
Yes please! If you found a good one (quiet, doesn't have or develop noises, doesn't get slow to start=dead) I'd buy TWO tomorrow!
Oscillating tower fans too, please!
As someone who operates heavily with physical labor in high heat environments, watching this video has been incredibly beneficial. Thank you good sir

ChillGo really deserved to will. As spending $280 would break my heart and the bank. Thanks for sharing, Todd.
You are welcome!
At one tenth the price of the Torras for very comparable performance, it is no contest.
We could buy a set of 4 ChillGo fans and stay cool all day long. Just swap between them and still not pay $280 dollars!
As a Coolify owner, some of them can be found refurbished for quite a bit less and work rather well.
Could buy a ChillGo, a 6ft charging cable, and a massive portable battery to stick in your backpack/back pocket. Since it charges while using, you’d outlast every other cooler on the list.
I didn't even know this existed, was not what I expected, and honestly is not something I'm going to purchase, but I love you tested these out and I'm absolutely going to watch the whole video anyway. Maybe they are so great I just don't know what I'm missing out on. Haha keep it up, man! Always appreciated

My grandma needed a new one so just got her the ChillGo one today based on this video for her.
Her main complaints was her last one barely blew air and none on the back of her neck. Thanks for this video, I was going to buy the cheap one, this was $3 more haha. It’s a bonus they fold, she hates her current ones don’t.
Thanks again.
I feel like we need an update about how she liked the chilligo lol
Any update for us?
Your methodology and innovativeness with respect to what aspect you test and the performance of those items is incredibly impressive. As to your review of neck fans, I am truly appreciative of you doing so. I have often wondered how well these things perform and you answered the question better than any UL lab could conceive. Thanks for the feedback.
Please do a “best portable A/C unit”
Thank you for the video idea!
There are so many on the market.
It'll probably be the Hessaire MC12V which I own and love to use!
They had boomboxes in the 80s; in the 20s we will be carrying coolboxes.
You could go out to your car to recharge those batteries sitting in air conditioned comfort.
@@deeshrier7444 Don't even need to start the car. Just leave it in accessory mode for an hour while charging.
That'll kill the car's battery.@Slicerwizard

@@dannydaw59 If an hour in accessory mode kills your battery, you need a new battery. I watch movies, typically close to two hours, on my laptop with the audio Bluetoothed to the car stereo. It seems so uncomfortable to wear something on your neck when it's hot, I'd never have tried these. This channel is invaluable to consumers.
Thank you!
I own a Torras Coolify 2 and I love it! It really feels like you're cooling down, especially in the hot, dry summers we have here. The plates not only cools down in summer but, it also warms up for winter use. It is a bit pricey, but I got it on sale for $170 and it's worth it.
Thanks for sharing.

I love it!

I'm again requesting a leather cleaner and or conditioner test to see what is the best for the leather such as car seats. Thank you
You're welcome!
Sprayaway brand. Smells like leather too.
The UA-cam Auto Fetish Detail recently published a video on modern coated leather car seats.
If you do a big fan review make sure you include the Caterpillar brushless. I use it in construction and has really impressed me.
Thank you for the suggestion!
I never cared anything about these fans, but now I just may buy that chillgo or whatever it's called. It could definitely come in handy at times even though I'd feel stupid wearing it. It seems perfect for delivery drivers or mail delivery on foot. Yet another great video!

Professional cyclist are finding that cooling on the back of neck is hazardous because it fools you in to feeling cooler while your body is dangerously overheating.

I am not convinced these have any positive effect on survivability. Not saying it’s impossible, but I’d like proof.

Even feathers survive this, and they are fragile. So they are more fragile than a feather.

They are Chinamen products. What do you expect?
Nice! DW bought me a WOOZOO desk-sized fan at Costco. It has a remote, oscillates side-to-side and up and down separately, has a "breeze" function, dark mode for sleep, 5 velocities and seems to move a decent amount of air. I think it was $69 at Costco.
