Is there any way you could do a pattern or maybe go over how you put together the pattern for the bodice? I'm new at sewing and really want to do a bodice like this one, but have no idea how to and I love the look of this one that you put together. Also, thank you so much for sharing so much detail in your videos, it's so helpful!! I used your how to hem a circle skirt video last week for my first circle skirt and it came out very neat and clean!

I am curious about the copyright issues involved in replication of the designs. Is there a royalty payment? Does the design belong to the original designer or the movie company?
Roxie Poe if she had bought a pattern sold by the company, then I figure there could be some issues perhaps? However, the fact that the pattern and dress are completely self drafted probably helps it not be an issue
Replicating a costume from either a movie or book isn't necessarily a copyright issue...cosplays do it all the time. It might be a copyright, but there's a thing that says that it's not copyright if it's at least 10% different (I'm not 100% sure on the 10%...it could be a bit more, but I can't find where I saw that.) Now, it get's a little trickier with selling a replicated costume (like what I've done for the past 7 years...) But I believe I've been safe from any copyright issues due to my costumes being at least "10% different." Let's face it! It'd be pretty hard to replicate something exactly...down to the exact fabric color, pattern, the stitches used, etc.! I sometimes mention copyright issues in my videos (and descriptions), but I'm mainly referring to showing photos, that are not my own, of the original dress. Movie stills and clips, and promo photos, are all copyrighted. But with the fair use, there is a case for using them for educational purposes. Hope that helps!
