This is a gorgeous looking dress and learning how your building it. My favorite dress she wore during this movie! Along with the blue dress she wore to the party!
Yes I pick some tricks, and have some fun watching how the pile of tulle grow at your machine side. Thank you! Your strugles and wins inspire me to try again this tulle!!
So so lovely I would love to have this petticoat it would be so fun to wear. Wish it had more puffiness . Could you make me one it would be a dream come true !!!
I liked the floofiness!! I wanted to pet it!! . . . but I realise it didn't look like the Alice dress. Your hard work has not gone to waste. This is an absolutely fabulous garment! Well done.
A lot of work going into the dress, but looking good. It has a lot of character as well, I like how the two colors blend to give the look of multiple shades of red and black (purple-ish). Looking forward to the next installment!
When making your Cinderella petticoat, could you make a tutorial on it!! Would be very helpful as I’m making a Cinderella dress currently. Also I love your videos, they’re very helpful and inspire me to get creative❤️
This is amazing! I have a question. . I'm hoping to recreate Audrey Hepburn's princess gown from the movie Roman Holiday. I'm thinking about how to make the petticoat, and am thinking of using a couple of layers of netting, and then maybe 8 layers of tulle. I'll also add slight panniers with I guess the netting. I know I definitely don't want to use a hoop. But since I will be making the fashion fabric out of something heavier like brocade or heavyish silk, I'm not sure that it will be enough to maintain it's poofiness. Do you have any ideas?
Hmmm... First of all; that sounds lovely! I think with the correct arrangement of the tulle and netting, the poofiness will be contained quite well! I'd do some looking for understructure examples in the 1950s....I know I've seen some understructures that have an excellent shape, achieved with tulle!
@@BellaMaesDesigns thank you for replying! I hope it will be lovely by the time I'm through with it 😅 sounds like I'm on the right track then. I've been researching foundation garments a lot, but surprisingly not finding as much info as i thought i would. I'm not sure if I'm just not searching the right terms, or if it's coz I'm limited to the internet with the current lockdown. When this is all over I'll be hitting the library for sure! Thank you so much!
I was looking at a few other tutorials for the same style of tiered petticoat and most suggested using rolls of 6" wide tulle designed for decorating to save cutting it into strips. Is this something you thought about and dismissed or didn't know about?
Yes! That's very true! The main reason why I didn't do that was because I wasn't sure what widths I was going to do...also, I though I was going to have more varied widths. But now that I know I mainly used 6 inch, I would probably purchase pre-cut rolls! Also, I started using pre-cut stuff for the Cinderella dress, but also I wanted softer tulle for some of the frills and so I cut some of them...because the tulle on the rolls tends to be the regular (not soft) tulle!
are the petticoats separate from the bodice and underskirt or are they attached? im currently replicating your replication and am confused because if its combined then how would it work around the zipper?
Your videos are wonderful!!! Yes I know I’m watching this 2 years later. My only down is the volume of the music between your talking. I’m hearing impaired, meaning I wear hearing aids. I had to increase the volume to hear you, then I would get BLASTED by the music. This doesn’t seem to be as much of an issue in later videos, but please be aware of music volume.
This looks like pure delight on a dress form! I know it was a huge endeavor, but oh, my! It is glorious.
Thanks!

It looks really lovely.
The puffiness will settle down some, over time.

Go big or go home, right?!
I think it's coming along wonderfully!
Haha, yes! Thanks!
This will be very helpful in any petticoat project. Thank you
The petticoats look absolutely amazing!!!

Yes, I really like that aspect as well. Thanks!
I really love this dress, even the oversize version of it look so beautiful (when alice shrunk to her normal size)
Take a shot every time she says petticoat 😂 I LOVE how poofy it is but I’m also the type of person that likes some major fluff

Oh yes pls do!
Oh, honey, I'll use all 70+ yards if I ever make this. M A X I M U M P O O F !
It is over puffy, but I think it suits perfectly on the type of cusrome you did and actually I liked it more than other two you showed ...😊
I loved that dress she was wearing at the first movie the blue one !
Yes, I do too! And I actually made a replica of that one! instagram.com/p/B8Ov9EFjQIi/
No such thing as too much pouf! I love the pouf!
Tulle is my most feared fabric to work with I think. I had some bad experiences as a beginner :-P
This is amazing!

it's gorgeous as it is--it begs to be danced in!

I LOOOOVE THAT! SO FLUFFYYYYY! 😍😍😍
You are very professional!
ciould you maybe do some tips on a ruffle foot please? I have one but can't get it to work very well...

It’s amazing 😍😍. Thank you 😘😘
You should do the red Queen dress from the first movie!
Very enjoyable!
The tied-while-steaming petticoat, bodice & dressform look very arty; like something that belongs in an art gallery.
It look beautiful
Thanks!

Oh, my. You have survived the tulle!
Haha, yes! Barely!
I was searching for this for soo long. Thank you so much!
Ps:
Do you think that 50 yards of tulle are enough?
Um, I think that would probably to the trick!
Bella Maes Designs I started sewing it yesterday, it’s looking good!
Hi are you selling this dress ?
Imagine if you had to hem the tulle... Tulle is not all bad.

I would love to wear this petticoat love the puffiness could you make me one ?
SO. MUCH. TULLE.!!!!
If i was a female this would be floor length in solid black and do it as a outer dress and I would do grocery shopping in it lol.
A girl can never have enough tulle and flounces!
