Great! Another Faffari! i couldn't remember what the last ones were called, or what they looked like, and Faffari seem to produce a "new" car about as often as I fill the tank in my own car. They look dumb, and boring, and I can't tell one from another. I'd like to suggest to Faffari that they take a close look at what Porsche do: Porsche decide what hole they want to fill in their range. They design a stunning car to fill the gap, and they show the car at the Geneva Motor Show. If the car appears at the GMS, then it is only because the car is scheduled for production. And when production begins, it keeps going for a minimum of 18 years. And in that time, Porsche take a well-designed car, and make it magical.
I personally believe it will increase the value of the XX program. Giving customers a track car increases the value of the company further look at the GT program for Porsche has now become one of the hugest programs in motorsport.
It’s definitely an improvement over the original SF90 in terms of its looks, it appears a lot more refined and the rear is far less busy. Also, it may not seem as much of an improvement over the previous model when compared to lap times of other XX models, but I doubt the other XX cars were on road tires as they were track only. Put some track tires on this one and I’m sure it will be in the same sort of ballpark.
A very impressive car performance wise. Though not entirely convinced by the design direction of mid-engined Ferraris of late. The 355 with its simple lines is such an enduring shape.
The only ones who can buy it are xx owners. They get first invitation. Just like the pista piloti. The piloti is for the clienteli owners. 1.9 seconds faster is a lot. No ordinary Ferrari owner or enthusiast can buy this car.
The wing is the biggest fumble in my opinion. Ferrari road cars, especially the track focused ones, have a certain air of novelty about them because they're usually graceful despite being effective. I.E. opting for a pronounced ducktail spoiler or active spoiler instead of a fixed wing. This obnoxious tacky wing brings down the car so much... not just because of downforce but in appearance especially. I think that it would be better if they made a track-only no-limits XX SF90 car to compliment the road car. Then the road car makes more sense.
Of this would have been no-compromise track-only machine like XX is supposed to be nobody would have a problem with that wing. But this way I agree with you.
@@fifteen8850 haha.. no. I'm not an engineer but I know a thing or two about design. There's ways where you can achieve considerable levels of downforce on a car without having to resort to using a fixed wing, and without having to create an unattractive looking car. Ferrari usually sets the benchmark for this with cars like the 458 Speciale, 488 Pista, F12 TDF, and even when they have added on a fixed wing for their ultra hypercars- I.E. the 599XX and LaFerrari FXX K, the wing has been visually cohesive with the rest of the design and arguably more beautiful than most visual downforce elements on other race cars. For this car, they could've hidden a wing in between the rear haunches like the Valkyrie does. the SF90 even sports a similar feature now. A massive ducktail akin to the 812 Competizione would have looked wonderful. I'm saying for a car that costs just under a million dollars, that wing looks cheap. I understand the car makes impressive downforce figures, but that's no excuse to neglect the outward appearance of the car. Look at how good the new GT3 RS wears its downforce.
Honest from Top Gear. It’s a stop gap before the new big flag ship. Think of it more as an ultimate SF-90. But the 296 is about as fast and looks similar so the Ferrari brand is a bit confusing right now. What Ferrari need to do is release a 1000kg car, V6 turbo, manual gearbox.
@@amarjit_singh_ The name is the basis for expectations. The speciale badge refers to a road car for the track whereas the XX program shouldn’t care for road, it should be all about performance on the track.
The SF90 XX is only about 1 second slower at Fiorano than the FXX Evo and that's with only one fast lap attempt. If Raffaele would've driven a few more laps then I'm sure 1:16 would've been easily doable. So it's definitely worthy of the XX name.
My car is faster than 60s F1 cars, doesn’t mean it deserves to be called one. For that thing to be called an XX, at least it should be faster than the last gen XX cars.
The logic of this statement is exactly that of Ferrari giving a road car with incremental upgrades a designation that has, until now, been reserved for track racing line.

In all sincerity I'm not as blown away by this as I was when Ferrari released the FXX and the 599XX all those years ago. But In saying that I think everyone is undermining the figures this car produces in comparison to the standard SF90. To begin, it's lighter (all be it not that much) compared to the standard car even though it's got a lot more aerodynamic grip, it accelerates faster than the standard car and has a race-focused electronics package all amalgamated together to form a street legal version of a XX program car. The other cars from the XX program are legendary and truly amazing pieces of machinery but you have to remember this is still a road legal car, and despite that the SF90XX is more than likely knocking on the door of the door performance-wise of those track-specific cars. IMO It's an impressive car, but I think Ferrari jumped the gun by labelling it a XX program car even if it was their goal to make a road legal race car. The XX program cars have largely been barely track-legal monsters that Ferrari won't even let you take home, where as this car kind of undermines the whole prominence of "owning" an XX car.
This is not an XX car, it’s named by the marketing department but the whole point of the XX program is that it’s track only cars. This is to an SF90 what a Speciale was to the 458.
We have reached the time when Cup 2 R became a limiting factor for the track capabilities 😮 On the other hand, this should definitely have been called "Competezione"!
I'm no Ferrari hater, but a road legal XX Ferrari is just a bag of compromise. To get the visceral experience it is supposed to provide, you have to opt for the lightest configuration, which is CRIMINALLY compromised on road and the moment you add creature comforts, the weight goes up and just defeats the purpose of the visceral racecar experience. What some other people would not consider is the advantage a set of racing slicks provide. This road legal XX would never be able to wear them. Summarising, this is not a true XX and Ferrari knows it, which is why it won't be a part of the regular XX programmes that the previous cars got. Ferrari built this car so that they can put a higher price on the already outrageously overpriced SF90 stradale and sell them in vulgar numbers, unlike a true XX. A true XX is supposed to be a proper driver's car, with its sole purpose being to provide the driver with the ultimate track experience. This car just won't do that. All this is good for the money making side of the company but the purity of the XX has been tarnished by this move. Ferrari if you're reading this, Old man Enzo would be very disappointed. Further down the line, there WILL be an EVO variant of this car, which should be a track only car. People interested in a better track experience should wait for that.
I saw a yellow stock sf90 couple weeks back and the styling was not eye candy sorta speak. But hey beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I saw a roma in silver as well and that was an absolutely gorgeous car. The rosso corsa racing red is still the most beautiful red on anything anywhere ever though.
1,7s faster with the same tires is a great improvement. It would be interesting to see what time would be with slick tires like FXX-K but i Think we would be 5 s faster than SF-90

This isn't the first XX road legal car. The 812 Competizione was meant to be the 812 XX but looks like the marketing team finally won with eh SF90.
Loved seeing the active aero from the shots under the spoiler
Wow love you Ferrari my dreams ❤
Thank you for video ❤
I personally believe it will increase the value of the XX program. Giving customers a track car increases the value of the company further look at the GT program for Porsche has now become one of the hugest programs in motorsport.
Looks Crazy....!!! However it has nothing over the LaFerrari....!!!
Name one modern car that has anything over the LaFerrari.
@@Khan-ts2jitoyota iq, fuel economy, easy to park, don't mind if it gets a scratch, cheap MOTs, need i go on..?!
Why are people disappointed with a near 2 second improvement? Fiorano is a short track and this lap was also done on road legal tyres
Because the old xx cars were way much faster
@@kaisuhina8024because of slicks
Fantastic car as all Ferraris are!!!!
First TopGear content I've watched since Jezza and them had a punch up. I can see I haven't missed a thing :(
It’s definitely an improvement over the original SF90 in terms of its looks, it appears a lot more refined and the rear is far less busy.
Also, it may not seem as much of an improvement over the previous model when compared to lap times of other XX models, but I doubt the other XX cars were on road tires as they were track only. Put some track tires on this one and I’m sure it will be in the same sort of ballpark.
That's it - proper slicks must notch out a second or so?
@@jameshorsmanover a second
Feels dissapointed compared to screaming 599 XX and FXX both are top class!
And cant bark too:(:(
This is a bigger hype train than Anthony Joshua
And that’s some achievement!
my god, its amazing this car, beatifuel
A thing of beauty this car 👌🏽👌🏽
But still not gonna match FXX 2007.
@@purwantiallan5089it kinda did
A very impressive car performance wise. Though not entirely convinced by the design direction of mid-engined Ferraris of late. The 355 with its simple lines is such an enduring shape.
If it is not eligible for XX events it should not wear the XX badge. Period.
The only ones who can buy it are xx owners. They get first invitation. Just like the pista piloti. The piloti is for the clienteli owners. 1.9 seconds faster is a lot. No ordinary Ferrari owner or enthusiast can buy this car.
Enough with the ‘period’ bullsheet
12:24 I will own one of these one day. I don't care what it takes. I'll have one. I love an outcast/underdog.
They missed a golden opportunity to bring back the F40/F50 style rearwing.
Of this would have been no-compromise track-only machine like XX is supposed to be nobody would have a problem with that wing. But this way I agree with you.
You really think you know better than the Ferrari engineers?
@@budja1501 this is assuming you know more than Ferrari engineers which you absolutely *dont*. Also the RS has a massive wing
More like an SF90 Speciale, and there's nothing wrong with that!
100% agree.
So what are you trying to imply - does the name make it less of a car than what it should be?
@@amarjit_singh_
The name is the basis for expectations. The speciale badge refers to a road car for the track whereas the XX program shouldn’t care for road, it should be all about performance on the track.
@@Khan-ts2ji Did you take a look at the full name - SF90 XX Stradale? Also, what's in a name if the car is a capable car?
Best looking car ive ever seen, wish they kept the 488 lights that make it look like a viper but love everything else
@@animaze8043 All you people throwing a hissy fit over a couple of letters while Ferrari is laughing all the way to the bank. Absolutely hilarious! Keep it up lmao 😂
@@horsepower523you're totally right. They are laughing while going to bank to cash their checks. But that doesn't mean that people cannot call them out on their antics. @@horsepower523Ok, go insult your country's president as you don't know every knowledge about politics. Same logic huh?
It just looks like a C8 corvette with more aero now
Z06 with body kit
The front end headlight/bumper styling looks like the Cadillac LMDH
The rear end on that thing. Sheesh.
This is not an XX car, it’s named by the marketing department but the whole point of the XX program is that it’s track only cars. This is to an SF90 what a Speciale was to the 458.
Not having Chris Harris drive it is a crime

You guys need to have the editors adjust the sound quality of how the T’s, S’s and C’s minimize the abrupt noise/ change in voice note.
That’s one sexy Ferrari 😮
We have reached the time when Cup 2 R became a limiting factor for the track capabilities 😮
On the other hand, this should definitely have been called "Competezione"!
When the NSX came out everybody hated this lol. Now it's anywhere and everywhere
Road car that we didn't see on the road, but wasn't as quick as on XX on the track 🤌🏾
Stunning car
They fixed the noise at least. This SF90 sounds good!
What a great homage to Corvette.
The mind boggles as to the ‘price’ of admission to that ‘marketing, spec’ing and dining’ area smack back in the middle of Fiorano. Not to mention who you might bump in to.
Looks quite like the current Vette.
