Europe Weather: A Big Pattern Shift is Happening… Here’s What that Means For You | WWS
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 бер 2024
- It’s official! A significant storm track shift is on its way this week. Not only will the new pattern redirect storms into southern Europe for a period of time, but we will see a major decrease in precipitation across much of Northern, Central, and Eastern Europe. Along with that, widespread above normal temperatures will take a step back as colder air is pulled in by a developing high pressure area over the Nordic countries. This won’t be a major arctic blast, but temperatures will be noticeably cooler in some spots. Stay tuned for more videos just like this by subscribing and hitting that notification bell! Thank you!

We have had enough of rain in the UK!
I bought a pair of flippers in anticipation, now I want to swap them for thigh waders.
I know what you mean. I have anke shor t wellies. Think I will have to get long ones. And we will no doubt have water shortages in the summer and hose pipe bans Never mind, the clocks change in a few weeks time - something to look forward to.@@rjones6219
Call the RAF. Tell them to
stop spraying the skies.
I’m a mid UK farmer and I have never known a wetter late Summer, Autumn and Winter! Seriously affected our crops and still far too wet to get on fields to try to do anything to help limit the damage they have suffered so far.
Literally desperate now for the weather to start improving by drying up. Even a decent frost would help us travel on frozen ground to get some nutrients on the struggling crops.
I cannot ever remember not having at least some snow during any winter, let alone barely any frosts.
It is all seriously depressing!
Wettest winter I can recall, it’s rained practically every day in east Ireland.
@@jettjones9889 same here with the rain, northwest Portugal. If the soil was not sandy and the terrain, more mountains than flat we would be under water by now.
I truly hope for you to get the right weather...you people are doing such important work for fellowman and your animals
Farmers want to worry more about the Tory and Labour wanting your land for trees, homes, solar panels and windmills.
all planned relentless cloud seeding and chem trails only time theres a break when planes are down for service , then it starts all over again
Today was glorious 10C and sunshine in Riga, and I did what everyone who holds a Latvian passport does on a day like this- I went out for a walk and said "Wow, it feels like spring is on it's way" at least 50 times. I turned my SPF 50 covered face towards the sun and smiled. The seasonal depression was gone.
That’s awesome. Have a great week!
@@WeatherWatcher14 Thank you, you too! 🙂 as I am writing this the northern lights decided to show up outside of my window.
@@lauvzane I am in Lisbon and if i could i trade with you, i hate hot Weather, love the cold and never watched northern lights and with 63 years old i hope one day can, :)
Cheers from Szczecin, where we too had a blast of sunshine today. It was amazing, wasn't it?
@@krejados1 Hi! Yes, it was amazing and I was ready to cry from happiness. Next time I'll cry when the temperature reaches 15C 😅
Hi from Ireland! We are having psychopathic weather here......one day sunshine.....next day cold, windy and rain......then snow!.......then sunshine.....then rain😅😂
Thank you for your hard work and I love your accent by the way.
Hahaha 😂 Hey! Feel free to share some of that psychopathic weather with me, I need active weather😂
You’re welcome, and thanks!
Years ago a friend from the US said before he came to the UK he couldnt underdstand why the Brits talked about the weather. We had just had a day with sleet in the morning. That cleared by late morning and we had a lovely walk in sunshine. Then it rained. Then we had snow. As he said, its worth commenting on
Sounds like typical Dutch weather.
Excelent news for southern Spain, we've been on a good run in terms of precipitations and it seems to continue. Right on time to mitigate a severe drought and for a bright green spring season.
Hoping you get as much rain as possible!
The more reflect on the weather for the last four months, reaffirms my feelings, that the cause, has its roots in an El Niño, couple with Hunga Tonga..
I agree with you on that! 👍🏼
We got a nice rain this morning in Barcelona along with some cold wind. Finally feels like winter.
Another great forecast.. always look forward to them, like I always say, you are always spot on.🇬🇧
Thank you! Glad to hear it 🙂
Here's hoping that high pressure dominates for as long as we have been stuck with rain and wind. After months of non stop rain, strong wind and generally horrific conditions we need some time to recover and get everything dried out. Here in South East England the roads and paths are completely trashed from the sheer amount of heavy rain we have endured. Ultra heavy rain, the likes of which we would usually only see a few times a year has been a near daily occurrence since October.
Crazy stuff. I think we can all agree on hoping this anticyclone sticks around for as long as possible. Parts of Iberia, including the area I’m in, needs rain. It’s been one of the driest winters. Looks like all the storms that should be more evenly distributed throughout the winter have been redirected to the UK and Ireland…
@@WeatherWatcher14 I have just been looking at the yearly rainfall charts for the last 20 years. Asides from 2007 and 2012 which were notoriously wet summers most only need a scale that goes up to 3cm for daily rainfall. Those 2 years go up to 5 and 6 cm. 2023 needs a scale up to 10cm and there's several days approaching that number in the autumn/winter months, with this years chart needing 9cm. I knew it had been wet but sheesh! Seems I was not imagining it being worse than I have ever seen.
I do appreciate that when the models diverge your choice is to wait and see. This seems to ensure your channel maintains its higher level of accuracy.
Thank you, I appreciate the feedback! 😄
We have had 3 times the aveeage rainfall in wales in February and its normally very wet anyway 😂
Exactly 😂 Crazy
really nice explanation here
Thank you!
Northern Italy was due a downpour or three. Our rivers and streams are now running well again and all our irrigation tanks are overflowing. Trees are taking up a good drink and spring is springing. We have enjoyed these downpours as they are rare and welcomed.
That’s awesome to hear. Have a good week!
And once the rain stops it will get to 30°C in a couple of days, with no wind, 90% humidity and 1000% air pollution. Welcome to hell.
These downpours are rare ??? We were in Italy this time last year and had 10 days of continous rain... I also believe N. Italy HAD SEVERE FLOODING and deaths... so what are you on about.
@@rvp589 and then we don't see a drop of rain for several months, snow we see just in christmas movies, many rivers have become seasonal rivulets and the old wells go progressively dry, becouse the foods you talk about, the excessive ones that involve casualties, do not do any good to the land, they just bring more damage and soil erosion. Water flowing at such speed doesn't get underground. Please note that we're talking of a region where in the flatlands most houses used to have no cellars becouse lower than 1,5 metres you'd find water in the soil, while now in summer we have to choose between flooding the rice fields and flushing the toilets. The young vines die and even the most sun loving crops like tomatoes suffer the drought and the too high temperature. More and more rice growers are considering abandoning their job becouse turning rice pads into common fields to grow other stuff is too expensive. Please consider thinking well before you go bragging about something you evidently don't know. My region is going through a serious issue and leisurely diminishing the problem is an irresponsible act, and insulting as well.
We happen to be in a micro climate area. Our worst rains for severity tend to be summer thunder storms. But in the four years I’ve lived here we have been very very dry. Our norm has been one day of rain and six weeks sun. We have gentle winters remaining around 10-12 degrees mostly even though we are 520m elevation. But within a couple of weeks now it’s normal to be into the high twenties and June July August will be thirty plus. Last year it was a slightly cooler summer here mostly high twenties only scraping thirty for short periods. We have enjoyed the recent rains as they were a great balancer for us. Italy has many climates and micro climates. I’m just lucky to live in a very benign area governed by the sea and its maritime influence where friends only 5k. Away are alpine. @@rvp589

Awesome video with amazing detail and info! European weather is very interesting!
Thank you so much Broderick!
Wow, nice perspective for Iberia, we need near flood conditions to give us the water we need (Algarve Where many northern people call paradise are still dry still almos out of water) for some years from now, i don't believe the dry weather let us be in the future, i espect. the opposite vigorously. Congrats for your work. Btw i love can to be in Riga or Norway or north of 50º Lat... :)
I’m really excited for the stormy weather coming. Thank you so much!

Amazing weekend in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, highs +16 - +18°C and amazing sunshine. It is good that we do not have too long dry spells, just enough.

Because of the high pressure system Scandinavia and the Baltics are very dry and all the snow has melted to do the temperature anomalies. The local forecast is that march is dry and cold until mid month.

Now I get why everyone keeps saying it's warmer than usual in Europe, but I don't feel it at all. Not here in Portugal, it's not!
You’re right! Iberia is one of the few places that’s a bit cooler than usual, and it may remain that way for a while.
taa, from uk south coast
I dried my washing on the line for first time since October
This is a very wet year in north and west of iberian peninsula. Yesterday more than 12 cms. of snow where I live (Guadarrama mountains). But very dry in west and south
Sorry, dry in east and south

Funny how people forgot about The Day After Tomorrow. But it didn't forget about us...
Let's hope for the best for western Andalusia!
Here we are... We'll have a wet march
@@danielgomez-ik4qq I'll be happy with a wet March
That was Scotland! Not just U.K.!
It was a lovely day here in Northern Ireland
Glad to hear that! I checked satellite imagery and saw that it was relatively clear sky!
I think for the 16-23 March part, that if the high pressure will be around Iceland, there are more chances that the low pressure to move towards Iberia, because the winds blowing from the high pressure are likely to move the low pressure southwards.
That’s correct. The strength/placement of the High Pressure at that point in time will affect what happens though. Stay tuned!

Load of... here in Sweden the weather pattern is totally normal, the animals are migrating normally, after a few years with relatively mild winters. Nothing to be bothered about - nothing extreme. All this greenhouse stuff is crap -ask any geologist about what they see in the rocks and the changes we have always had.
I never said it was abnormal. All I said is that this new pattern will be quite different than what we’ve experienced for much of the winter… which was very wet across Scandinavia, Ireland, the U.K, and Central Europe.

@@GravInducedSleepTrac why would you make such an assumptive and pointless comment? If you have something of your own to add which is funny, interesting or intelligent, I'm all ears... until then...
@@WeatherWatcher14 yeah, but "big pattern shift is coming" as a headline is playing on people's minds, with the climate change dross and fear we get fed constantly and which effects all our lives. What…?
Rubbish since weeks
2:08 - Now, I know this is not "about geography" or "international politics" but a map on which STATE borders and provinces' borders are drawn with exactly the same line does not present a very clear picture - and then there's a whole bunch of city names in there, where the name itself is as wide as half of the entire country (like Hamburg or Warsaw) BUT there's no dot, any dot, showing the location of it - and the viewer is left to wild guessing whether the city location is to the left of the name, "in-line", or the name is "centred under" or "centred over" the actual location of the city in question. I mean, kinda messy and pretty useless.
