Hey! If you’re coming back to this video to let me know how my predictions did, well, I’ll admit right off the bat that my precipitation forecast was a miss. Unfortunately the weather pattern which could have favored more precipitation across southern Europe failed to materialize, and that firehouse of precipitation instead was aimed at Ireland, the U.K, and Scandinavia. Nonetheless, I’m happy to report my temperature forecast was spot-on, calling for warmer than normal temperatures for much of Europe, with the Nordic and Baltic countries being mostly colder than usual. Of course, this is the nature of weather forecasting, especially long range. Some things will be correct, and some things won’t be.
Since I created this forecast I have learned so much about European weather and climate, so I have a good feeling about the next long range forecast for us. Thanks for sticking with me! 😄
Finally I found a channel that does long term European forecast.
And I have found it spot on so far too! Been watching for a couple of months and this is the most accurate long range weather forecaster I have found. I am now preparing for what is to come with confidence!
Wow, that’s awesome to hear! So happy you are finding this accurate thus far! @@suecharnock9369
There is a reason we dont get info of the weather more than 10 days ahead, cause you cant calculate how its gonna end up. So this channel is bs, you know that, right?
Thank you for the excellent update about European weather. I think that you are very talented and while the amount of hate comments is immense it doesn’t mean anything. Keep doing what you do and don’t let haters who wish they could be like you tear you down. Keep forecasting!
Wow, thank you so much, this means a lot! I really appreciate your comment!
This is the most accurate weather channel for long range I have found. So far spot on!
Thank you! Glad to hear that!
Everyone is free to watch what they like and pertains to them. WW is the most respectful person I have seen and he is doing an amazing amazing job trying to include a very large part of the world! Keep up the great job you are doing and thank you so much for your hard work, politeness and kindness you show, every time! Grateful, from Portugal 👍🏻

You’re welcome!
Winter looking good for my south Iceland :D . Thanx 4 the vid.
You’re very welcome!
I appreciate your coverage of Europe and, in particular, Scandinavia. The bill for electricity will jump a lot during the Jan/Feb period. I was hoping for a warm winter. Cheers.
You’re welcome! Make sure you stay tuned to this channel for updates throughout the winter for Europe and the United States. 🙂
Would you like to change with the forecast for Portugal? I'm in the northwest of the country and we are already fed up with the rain.😊
I’m in central Portugal and I love rain! Send me some please 😂@@Atimatimukti
@@WeatherWatcher14please...take it all. We don't need rain up here, water runs the all year. It's you guys in central and south that desperately need it.
Já chega de chuva 😊
Articulate and clear - well done! I am prepared for January and February now. I feel sorry for the jealous, lonely and sad people who cannot cope with others working hard and being successful. Turn it on its head and see it as a measure of how well you are doing! 20,000 + subscribers confirm this.

Thank you for your help with the European weather patterns forecast. Very much appreciated from me and my buddies as we plan touring Europe in the winter for 2 months. Keep up the excellent work. Thank you. God Bless your team.

Hope you are right about southern europe being wetter than usual because here in Barcelona (Spain) the reservois are dangerously low and there`s talk of water restrictions !

Scientific, reasoned prediction, no waffle, no hype…good job.
November is so far characterised by very large, slack areas of low pressure moving across the Atlantic, often stalling over the UK, and continuing mild, changeable weather. A dry Northerly drift tends to correspond to sunny, fine weather in Ireland, not bad in mid Winter, with intermittent spells of frost likely.
It seems likely the Scandinavian/Arctic influence will grow over the Winter, although this is actually what normally happens in any given year after Christmas as the Westerlies dry up, due no doubt to cooling sea surface temperatures, and dry E/NE sets in more often.
The last few winters were mostly the Westerly type, mild, quiet, little frost, with occasional short lived but heavy snow fall in the South of Ireland at the interface between the continental and Atlantic influence. I doubt we will see anything like the intense cold of 2010, especially as mean sea surface temperatures are climbing steadily with the Scandinavian/Greenland islands of cold less able to spread and establish over Western Europe. Winters are becoming more pleasant where I live.
That’s right along the lines of what I’m thinking, thank you for presenting your thoughts as well. Thanks for watching!
Really interesting forecast as a Swedish person hoping for a cold winter! 👍❄️
the somewhat annoying thing with such warm ssts on the north atlantic is that it makes the rain/snow limit altitude rise quite a bit so much of the snow falling now is actually snow only at quite high elevation in the Alps, but if it stays unsettled through the winter, by dec and jan it will come down gradually, hoping that the ocean cools down also, which it seems like it is lately.
And talking about this, can’t wait for the AMO to go negative in the next decades, that will sure help to rebuild the glaciers.
I am in Tampere, western Finland, and we have snow already and it seems to be permanent. Winter has definitely started and early, I would say, two weeks early. Lapland has had heavy snow accumulation. Only the southern coast with more maritime climate is free from snow.
Already coming true, as European alpine ski resorts have had v.good snowfall by comparison with the last few years.
Another awesome European Winter forecast, Weather Watcher!
Thank you!!

Excellent video, thank you. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I live in Ireland where we usually get wet winters but I really love the cold blasts we sometimes get from Scandinavia. I hope your forecast is correct. No forecaster can ever be 100% sure but I understand that the global patterns that you talk about can indicate what’s likely to happen. Once again, thanks. New subscriber 😊
Thanks, and you’re welcome! I appreciate your realistic approach to the weather forecast!
We used to have snowy winters in Sweden. That has changed into more unpredictable weather. And winters with hardly any snow. Obviously changed weather patterns!
I belive in any forecast that predicts wild, unpleasant weather. That seems to be the norm nowadays!
One thing I have noticed is that we seems to periodically get our weather from some arctic phenomena. Such as a cold persistent wind from the north.
2011-2014 were cold and snowy in the south eastern part of Sweden. The coldest were from early January and into mid April.
Great breakdown of likely weather for the coming winter. Expertly presented and very informative. Thanks!
Thank you so much! I appreciate it!
And quite probably 1000% wrong again.
Very interesting! We have had incredible amounts of rain in Ireland this year. A couple of drier months wouldn’t go amiss.
Wow! That’s crazy. Enjoy the drier weather later in the winter!
Well explained forecast and so far (from the US) spot on for UK November rain. Just subscribed 👍 keep up the good work.

Excellent long weather forecastcast. Thank you.

The funny bit is that the winds of the QBO are actually caused by the earth’s rotation rather than heat…
True! The QBO is a wind pattern that takes a 2 year cycle. Whichever phase it’s in can influence the behavior of the jet stream. The UK met office has an article and video further explaining the QBO, here’s a link if you’re interested: www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/learn-about/weather/atmosphere/quasi-biennial-oscillation
Great news. In slowenian Alps is already 40 cm of snow. I hope of cold winter with a lot of snow, like it was ussual before. We need it, the nature need it. Thank you so much. 😀

I hope we will have a mild winter in Italy, because this year I really wouldn't know how to pay the heating bills
Just to highlight the supreme quality of your forecast one month later. Beeing german I can confirm:
Alpine Ski conditions well above average up to extraordinary
Tons of rain/slightly too warm
Pink zone nails it. All forecast models struggle with germany. We saw a shift in temp of more than 17°C in the model output within 6 days for some locations.
You nailed even the rest of europe.
And I go 100% along with your part for Jan-March
Wow, so glad to hear that! Thank you so much for your feedback and analysis.
@@WeatherWatcher14 Your welcome 😊. Sometimes a neutral view from oversea is worth more than ages of experience. Fun fact, the ultimate winter 78/79 started the same as this winter season. So perhaps El Nino will surprise us all here!
Great forecast. Thanks for the hard work
Thank you, and thank you so much for recognizing how much work goes into this. It took me 6 hours to edit/draw maps/narrate, with additional hours spent on research. Hello! What a great weather update 🙂 I live in the northern part of Germany in the orange zone 7:27 almost on the border of the pink zone.
Do you think that the zones could change by a little over the next months? I used to live in Australia and I like to be prepared for snowstorms 🙈
Thanks for the European forecast in English, they are hard to find!!
Thank you very much, I’m glad you enjoyed!
Here’s the answer to your question: In northern Germany, I’m expecting a wet, windy, and generally warmer than normal November and December, with some colder air possible at times. Then, I think that we will see a decrease in precipitation for the January and February timeframe, with increasing cold air, due to a high pressure area over the Nordic Countries. Any precipitation that will move into that region, could become wintry weather.
All in all, expect a wet Nov/Dec and a drier, colder, and possibly snowier Jan/Feb!
Hoping for a cold, snowy winter in Scotland!
Nice video. Thank you Weather Watcher :)
Thanks Gav!! 😁
Viel Schnee in 2023/24? Ich hoffe doch sehr! 👍😄

Greetings from Greece!
Hello! :)
I am going to add an unknown element to this. This may or may not happen or have a large effect on the weather. In Iceland there is a large Volcano that is possibly going to erupt. A town near it has been evacuated due to its possible eruption. This could cause the weather pattern to be disrupted, due to the heat pushed high into the atmosphere, additionally the falling ash with create it's own problems and clouds will due to the extra weight of the ash drop their rain sooner and in higher quantities.
I’ve been getting lots of comments about the Iceland volcano. I’ll be watching out for you guys! I’ll post an update on this channel soon if necessary, I may even make a video about its possible effect in the weather. Stay tuned!
The jetstream and polar vortex are not "anomalies". Keep up the good work, and double check during editing (it's one of the hardest parts, for any of us publishing👍).
Thank you so much for your support!
Yes an anomaly is something that “deviates from what is standard, expected or normal”… So like you said, the jet stream and polar vortex are not anomalies on their own… but they could be anomalies since we expect different results this winter. 🙂
I came back to follow my own advice and add a clarification, but you beat me to it 😁!
(For my two cents' worth, as I understand it, they can behave in ways that are out of character and are unexpected, and it's those behaviors themselves that are the anomalies, rather than the jetstream and polar vortex themselves🤔...)
Friend, you're not just intelligent and creative, you're also calm and levelheaded in your responses to input, and that's a rare and useful trait that will take you far!

Thank you so much! I appreciate the subscription, and I’m excited to see how the prediction turns out!
I spent some years to understand the climate and it turn out to be a political scam.
Yes CO2 will affect the temperature when CO2 is doubled, but not a lot, 3W/m2 compared to 300 W/m2.
That is from 50 year satellite data by William Happer. @@WeatherWatcher14

@@WeatherWatcher14That’s it 👍🏻
First time on here. Very good. Some more references for source data would be most welcome. Thanks.
nice video guys, but please put some scales on the pictures for the different variables(temperature, precipation, etc) to be easier for us to understand what the colors mean
👍🏼 Definitely will do! Just for now, yellow/brown means drier, green means wet, and red/orange means warm, and blue means cold
When it comes to long term forecasts, the further in the future, the more they show neutral patterns. That is why I wouldn't trust them too much for January or February, however, given the current weather factors, it is likely to have a more typical winter this season. First, we get at first more snow than in the last few years. Then, some high pressure blockades will periodically blow cold air to Central Europe - more than it was in previous years. It still may be a warm winter at times, but in overall, there will be more cold and snowy days, especially later in the season.
Still, I hope that some miracle happens, and the winter will be as warm and snowless as in the last years... There is always some chance... ;)
Great information, thanks for your comment!
Nice. ❤
Thanks! :)

So probably another snowless winter. That would be unimaginable 20 years ago.
I remember loads of snowless winters when I was a kid in the late 60s and early 70s.
@@davew459 That obviously depends on where you are. Just because you had snowless winters doesn’t mean it’s normal for @mionellessi3086
Depends on where you are
Nobody older than me remembers snowless winters
I remember a year with only a thin 2" or so I couldn't make a snowman sometime around 2005
Then that big cold in...was it 2012? it got down to -15 here we all went and played on the village duck pond
And then for the next 8 (I think) years we got a dusting or two but other than that we had no snow at all or at least that layed
Fun times trying to predict the weather in the British Isles for more than 4 hours ahead, but keep at it. Have a look at East Asia if you get a chance, Japan especially is the snowiest place on the planet so interesting to see how that works.
Keep at it!
Thanks!
Do you see any real chance of at least some snow for UK? GWO Dilley (USA) does. Met Office tends to suggest El Nino brings earlier milder, then cold mid to later UK winter.
Yes I do think there’s a chance. I mentioned in the video that colder/drier conditions wouldn’t mean 0 precip, so when it does get colder, you could definitely see Beast from the East 3.0 :)
nice forecast!
Thanks!
Should be of big interest
A strong El Niño is likely for this upcoming winter
