This had such a cool Steely Dan feel to it. Came for the pickups, stayed for the playing

Yet more proof that the pickups are more important than the name on the head-stock.

And the player is more important than the gear 😅😂

Hardly, warmoth makes some of the highest quality stuff on the market. Better than most fenders until you get to really the top top of the line, and even then it's not clear to me.

the lollars + the tone king sound very polished. i suppose it depends on what tone you are going for...

Excellent playing and tone, thank you! I’m trying to decide between fat 50 Fender pickups or Lollar Tweeds.

Go Lollar hands down. My strat came with Fat 50s and I swapped them for Lollar Dirty Blondes and really dig it. It was a hard choice between Tweeds and Blondes. The Tweeds are beautiful but I like the treble forward sound of the Blondes.

@@aaront879 I did indeed go with Lollar “Dirty Blonds” in my MIM Strat, they do sound preset great 👍

@@ScottyWig Glad you like them. For anybody reading this in the future the other thing I forgot to mention is how much I prefer the flat poles of the Lollars to the staggered poles of the Fat 50s. I am not a fan of staggered poles.

@@aaront879 Yeah this is what I am deciding between - that lovely midrange texture of the tweeds, vs the open treble of the blondes. Both are just stunning. Hard to decide. I do play tweed amps and also AC30, so I am thinking the tweeds will probably be the best choice overall. The blondes sound beautiful though
