The thing is, Canon purposefully added a de-noiser when shooting video, which attempts to remove noise when in low light conditions, but I'm gonna be honest, is better without the de-noiser, which can be seen in 60fps mode.
I only see a little bit of a difference. I wanted to get the G7X but they didn't have any at best buy so I got the Canon SX730 HS and I love it. Its still a pretty good camera.
I mean theres nothing wrong with your purchase but I feel like in this video, they set the settings really weird. Its too bright and doesnt look natural. I dont think that camera has that much brightness. The settings are just tweaked.. im gonna get the g7x for my birthday tho

Finger print in the lens on Canon SX730 at 0:17sec to 0:20 sec.. not a good help for the test.. Finger print visible clearly at 1:55 in the mirror reflection :-(
I have the SX730 and it is not too bad specially when I got it for $300.00 US. (I did not pay shipping or tax). In this video you can see more detail on the G7x; however, the stabilization on the 730 is great and if you have good light, your video will be good. I just got a canon sl2 and obviously it gives me better quality, but I spent $800.00 between a camera body bundle and the 50mm 1.4 lens, and it does not have stabilization, so the videos have to be captured from a tripod or a big gimbal which can be another $500.00. So for best economic camera I vote for the cannon SX730hs (not to mention the great zoom).
Thank you for doing this. I am trying to figure out a good beginner vlogging camera for cheaper right now. I agree with the comments that for the price range I will chose the Canon SX730HS. The G7X is a good camera from what I hear but....just can't afford it right now. There isn't TONS of a difference in the quality overall for a beginner! 😊😘
She didn’t even try to make the sx740 look good smh. The gx is better, but the sx740 is still good! I have it and it’s amazing. The g7 is pretty expensive. So it’s naturally gonna be better. By comparison, G7 appears to be somewhat sharper. Most of time seems a bit darker too. Maybe G7 needs to increase the exposure a little higher. The SX 730 is not bad. There's a UA-cam that I watched indicates that SX730/740 needs to set optimizer to low or even disable to improve the quality of recording. It is really needed when taking pictures or video at low light to reduce grainy. I notice the quality of pictures/video were noticeably better. Cheers!
To me mirrorless is the future. I rather buy the canon m100 or m6. There is no sense of buying a point and shoot that does not have a 1 inch sensor. Plenty of phones now can shoot nice video in full hd and 4k. Just my opinion.
I have the canon power shot sx720 HD and it takes very good photos I take this camera to Disneyland when I go because I want some good pictures other than my phone and I can just transfer with Wi-Fi or the NFC and I also take this camera to Tennessee for my friend's wedding and I took pictures there it's like having a little D DSLR in your pocket it doesn't shoot raw but you can take pictures with manual mode and everything even just the audio on this when you take the photos as great as perfect because then they could just edit them the way you wanted to and I'm looking to upgrade to the 730 cuz I'm into taking videos I take videos with this sometimes but it's hard to see yourself because it doesn't have the the flip up screen but this takes very good photos ,this is a really good inexpensive point-and-shoot camera to take with you if you want to get those really good shots and those really good pictures I like it better then g7 because with that money I would just go bye a DSLR so this is good for your every-day needs
I have the SX 730 and I have to say that videos I have done with it look far better than the results you achieved. Mine are sharper and the colours are more vibrant. And no, I haven't set any 'My Colours' options to boost colours..
I know this is an old video for me to be commenting but I got the g7x mark 2 for Christmas and it broke because of a lens error that is common for g7x cameras. I was advised by a store to get the SX730HS instead as it was more reliable and also less in price thinking very strongly of getting the SX730HS
You had the Digital zoom turned on on the 730. That’s why it preformed and look that way. I have the 730 as backup and it looks so much better with digital zoom off completely. And preforms a heck of a lot better. Try it. Nice video.
Definitely getting the Canon G7X Mark ii! I have the Canon Rebel T6i DSLR and I think this would also be a great camera instead of taking this big camera around. Although I love my DSLR just want a smaller camera so I can vlog and take it around more!
I have bought Canon SX740HS yesterday. I am upset already. I still have my 9 years old Canon SX150 IS and it gives better photos even now. Due to my tight budget I opted for SX740HS . 😔
I'm just about to buy one of these two cameras and I'm really doubtful about to buy the G7 MARKII because the release year, it has more than 3 years old, instead of SX730, but I think G7 still worth in 2019, more than the newer SX730 acording what you present in this video, the quality image seems to be better on G7 MARK II, what a shame that G7 doesn't have 4K video, but I think I can do without with this feature due to my travel usage and not to my professional photograph usage. In the other hand, I want to use it more for shot photographs than to run video, and in my country the price is almost the same in both, so I think I will buy G7MARKII, I think it has by far the best quality in video and photos. Unless G7MARKII has 4K and better ZOOM, I won't spend a lot of time to decide to buy it.
the sx730 has better lighting but is more blurrly whilst the g7 is a normal camera with no added lighting. i recommned the g7 for vlogging but add a torch or flashlight

I have the sx720 (not 730) and wondering whether to buy the G7x Mark II. Do you think it's worth buying the G7x Mark II if you have the sx720 (or 730)? I see it's a bit sharper, but wondering if it is worth the price if you already have the other. I mostly want a good quality camera for concerts if I don't have a photopass and am just taking photos from the audience. Wondering whether the G7x Mark II is much better at low lit concerts. How sharp at maximum zoom is it? I know the zoom is not as long, so that is its downfall. But is the quality difference enough to justify $500? The sx720 is pretty good, but definitely not amazing, so I'm still looking for something better.
Hey! So I think that the G7x does really well in low light in comparison to the sx730. The zoom may not be as much as the 730, but the G7x zoom is very sharp and steady when you do zoom in to its max capacity. So sorry wasn't able to film a zoom test to compare the two!

the watcher g7x and g7x mk ii have 1 inch sensor (2.7 crop factor), while m100 and m6 have aps-c sensor (1.6 crop factor).

For the extra $250 it seems like getting the G7x is worth the cost. The picture is slightly crisper and cleaner/smoother.
