Thanks! Its come a long ways
I owned a transmission shop for 30 years and on days my guys had the use of my shop for personal use my shop had 8 lifts only one was a drive on loved the twin post swing arm lofts
That sounds like a big shop! Must have been busy. These are great lifts, I dont think I'll go back to the old way..
@@marktolman6037 I had 4 rebuilders 3 R&R guys one swamper or a trainee myself and a secretary part time I wholesaled to municipalities and had nationwide companies too we were an Aamco dealer until I sold my shop in the 80s
@@garybrady9531 Sounds like quite the operation! Must have been a lot to organize
@@marktolman6037 I bought the franchise turn key the ship once was a car dealership in the 40s so it'd been a shop from go I upgraded to electric hydraulic lifts from cable type added more AC and compressors so no more hand tools later I put in a huge life for heavy rigs and garbage trucks etc it was outside which was great in good weather we did it all from old power glides to Eaton in heaven trucks we did an old 50s tank once for the VFW
@@garybrady9531 Thats cool! Must have been a really neat old building, lots of character from an old commercial site.
Great job I'm going to do the same thing on my garage in Mich.this summer.Would you mind sharing cost $$$$ Thank's
I've got roughly $48,000 into this, obviously I've got alot more done since this video.
$3,500 for earthwork. Hired this out.
$33,000 for the concrete, framing, t1-11 siding, roof sheathing & shingles, 12 x 12 garage door, windows & people door. I hired a contractor to do the structure.
$1,000 in Sherman William's stain for exterior of t1-11 siding. I painted myself.
$2,000 in electrical & lights. I did this myself to save $.
$6,000 in pink insulation (still not done). Work done myself.
$2,000 in interior plywood (still not done). Work done myself.
I still have more to go, but this will get you an idea what it costs.
I did alot myself to save money.
I will make a video going over costs once I have more done. It takes a while to catch up with the videos.
@@marktolman6037 Thank's for the reply I know material prices are nuts.I subscribed to your channel look forward to more videos.I'm going to start to get prices on my adventure next week
@@paulwagner5367 Luckily, material prices are coming down since I built! Thanks.
Compact new building at least you could start making more videos about ford tractors and other equipment.🇬🇧🇮🇪.
Very true. It's been almost 2 years now. I've been working out if it quite a bit.
what weight concrete did you pour
3500 psi mix
it's the calcium it will wear off no worries
Thanks
No footers?
No, just a floating slab. Same as what was in the old garage.
@@marktolman6037 I wanted to do a thickened edge ~12 inches but my building dept wanted frost line footers…42” down past the line we went…but better to overbuild I suppose 🤷🏼♂️
@@ScottieBMan If there's room in the budget, it's always better to go overboard than to under build. I would have loved to have gone with a thickened Edge or a frost wall slab, but I could barely afford to build the garage as it was LOL.
@@marktolman6037 that is true, man I have to shell out another $3.5k for footers!
@@ScottieBMan people dont realize how much extra it is for a thickened edge slab, or footers. It all adds up at the end. Yes, you get a better product, but it's not always necessary
