@@istankimjong-unbutcantstan3398 I don't know. My mom was able to support 4 kids on less than $400 a week. There wasn't any 60 yr old men dancing in the streets with their dirty tighty whites on in front of children, no pronouns being used, kids were out playing all day being social, and came home when the street lights came on. Neighbors looked out for the kids. Yes bad shit has always happened but, THINGS WERE BETTER BACK THEN. Just different and society as a whole has gotten a hell of a lot worse.

My god, my grandpa who would have been 70 at the time hated rock music but somehow took a liking to this song. He would always be singing it to himself when doing menial tasks. This song always makes me think of him ever since his passing in 2008 when I was 12.
44 but feel 18 listening to this song. Even if I make it to my 60s I’ll feel the same way. These songs will always trigger those 90s youthful vibes.
I'm 61 and you're right
He wrote every song on this album. Pretty amazing for a 24 yr. old.
The whole group matchbox 20 is awesome especially lead guitarist Kyle Cook
The album is so good, too. It was one of my favorite albums when I was a teenager...the first album where I loved every single song
true theire meaningful lyrics hit you on the spot if you can relate though.
most people have more talent at that age than when they age out of their whimsical creativity
I did not know that! Rob Thomas is definitely amazing! Besides being such a fine - looking young man!
Best band of the 90's in my opinion.
I heard this at Applebee's last night & remember how much I love Matchbox 20. 💯♥️🎧
Applebee's foo d sucks and overpriced
Born in the 80's, raised in the 90's. What a glorious time! Can't we just go back to a simpler time and live there forever??? This world sucks now frfr
I agree. I was born in the 70s and became a legal adult in the mid 90s. The 90s was awesome. It felt like it was an extension of the 80s with a sweet twist. Everything started going to shit after the 2000s . And it's not because I got older, I just saw society as a whole going to shit.
it sucked then. There were never simpler times. It's all an illusion
You got that 100% correct!! ❤❤
@@endofsocietythere's a lot of woke people now. You're so right my friend.
Love Matchbox Twenty. This is my favorite song. Always loved Rob Thomas' voice. Cool video too.
Boy, I bet my friends would all be stunned.
I love this song and Match Box Twenty, this song is awesome and Rob Thomas his vocals are beyond words. This song 🎵 just has a vibe that people can actually relate to. I love his imagination of how he pictured himself in different positions in life. I love that verse, please don't change. That's so very important.
90s music was the shit !!! Nothing better !!
Never ever gets old. Amazing singer
AND BOY I BET MY FRIENDS WILL ALL BE
STUNNED
THEY'RE STUNNED
Mike L it's a good line
Nothing better than growing up to my mom being into Matchbox Twenty, Lifehouse, Daughtery, The Script etc and now at 19 years old, this is all I listen to! Road Trips was the best listening to 90s/00s pop rock
Rob Thomas is a hell of a song writer. Mainly a hip hop guy but Rob’s songwriting is something else. This whole album was incredible and he was great on Carlos Santana’s able as well.
Happy 2021 Everyone! This brings me so many memories of my younger years. I remember watching this music video on MTV, I loved this song! It's sad how fast time passes, time is such a thief♥️
Back when MTV actually played MUSIC videos...
All 90’s moms love Matchbox 20
I remember my mom cleaning the house on Saturdays just blasting them on her stereo consistently lol god those times were good atleast

Major Nostalgia ❤❤❤❤❤ I Love Thee
Simply nostalgic! timeless music even decades later
Takes me back to my high school after a hard day, driving home through the countryside, windows down, and songs like this blaring.
I feel very fortunate to be alive during this time to hear fantastic music and great voices like #RobThomas. He's a fabulous singer/songwriter. His talent is immense 😀👍🙋🎸🎹🥁🪘🪗🎷💜💙💖🧡🔥🔥🔥🔥
Always jamming these tunes!
Childhoods spent playing in the dirt rolling down hills, getting grass stains on our clothes, trying to make it home before it got too dark to get home alone, chewing on ouch gum, good times. :'(

DAYTON DAYTONA That was '97... Twenty Years Ago. 0.0

Every single time they perform this song at a show-it’s amazing!!! ❤❤❤
Summer of 2024, still hits just as hard.
Love it
I think I love him! 😍
This was one of my Dads favorite songs of all time. He passed away due to alcohol complications Dec 18 2018. There are only a few songs that make me think of my father, and this is definitely one of them.
90s music was the best had so much heart soul and passion. The best time for music.
I just recently heard this song after several years and can't seem to get it out of my head!! This and "3am"my favorites by Matchbox 20.👍
This song applies to my life and I guarantee every adult. I wish they made more songs like this now!
Not only adults. it applies to me even, i'm 12, by the way. Anyone who understands the real world, really. Sadly, most adults don't even. Such sadness. It's usually those who hassle. It's the real world...
Me too!! That whole album from 1996 has that feel. I bought it tonight for 5 bucks. It sounds amazing!!
Funni Bunni "I'm 12 and understand the real world" topkek
kphoenix137 I had to deal with global problems and an insanity that reached to high limits. My parents were very open to me and told me what people were doing. 'Ell, I'm involved in politics, can develop my own personal mindset, have lost great ones, helped others and asked for nothing in return, and I can absolutely see everything in a view you wouldn't dare to imagine. I study constantly on everything, I meditate on it, and I look into it. I've even got law problems on my back, but I believe in rebellion, and I believe in fighting for it. SO yes, I understand the real world, despite my youthful age. And I believe in fighting for rights depicted upon intelligent mindsets, and changing the 'real world" into a better place. A utopia awaits in this cruel world, burning to the ground if we change it around. :)

If you really understood the world, you wouldn't have responded to my post. Instead to you typed up a paragraph. Who are you trying to convince: Me or yourself?
One of the best voices ever.♥️
Still rocking this vibe!
I really miss the 90's
I love this song to tears.
Robert
.please never change...you are you and that is why I love you....you are my superhero....truly...
I look at you, admire you, thank you for your love that you give me...
You are my dream come true.......nothing will change that...
I'll shout it from the rooftops...💜💜
This song still resonates in my soul in 2019. 💜
Absolutely love this song ❤️
I saw them play this song when I was 8 years old in New Orleans on the original “yourself or someone like you” tour. I am 36 now and will forever be a huge matchbox fan. I play guitar and sing and can play just about all their songs. This band and Rob literally created the soundtrack to my life and I’m forever thankful for their hard work and passion. I know it’s just music, but these songs have been with me through life, the good times, the bad times, and everything in between. I hope at some point in life I will get the chance to play bright lights an acoustic version with Rob. lol I’m putting that energy out there universe, make it happen.
THIS IS A BRILLIANT SONG!
THE PERSON THAT WROTE THIS SONG IS BRILLIANT!!!
