- If you want to buy natural Ruby jewelry, this video tutorial is for you. In my experience, before you buy a Ruby, it is important to understand which country your Ruby is mined in, how the mine impacts Ruby's color tones, Ruby’s grading system and acceptable levels of inclusions and treatments on Ruby and the recommended Ruby shapes and designs in fine jewelry.
And that is exactly how this Ruby buying guide is structured.
First, you will learn how to evaluate Ruby's color intensity and it’s various shades (from pinkish and orangeish Ruby to the most desirable pigeon-blood Ruby) .

I agree most rubies are heated (some 99% ia commonly quoted) but a natural unheated ruby will command a premium price over a heated ruby. I have some beautiful ruby ranging from just above a carat to over 15 carats all are untreated and 100% natural. Great video by the way thank you.

I have a Natural Ruby I test it with the presidium 3 tester and on occasions. I go up to diamond. why. it hits me several times like a diamond and it's red

You need to calibrate your machine. Use the “pin” that comes with it to reset. Once reset, then test your gem. A Sapphire / Ruby will test into Diamond on many lower end Diamond testers; however, on a Presidium gem tester, it’s usually because it requires calibrating which should be done every so often.

How can a ruby be natural when you have heat treated it....utter bollocks! It's not natural duh!
A natural ruby is a gemstone straight out of the ground NO treatment whatsoever including heat treatment just a stone that's been cut and polished.
