- If you want to buy natural Emerald jewelry, this video tutorial is for you. In my experience, before you buy a Emerald, it is important to understand which country your Emerald is mined in, how the mine impacts Emerald’s color tones, Emerald’s grading system and acceptable levels of inclusions (jardins) and treatments on Emerald and the recommended Emerald shapes and designs in fine jewelry.
And that is exactly how this Emerald buying guide is structured.
First, you will learn how to evaluate Emerald's color intensity and it’s various shades (from light bluish green to dark green) is a function of Emerald’s origin (Colombia, Zambia or Brazil).

There are a lot of potential issues with oiling and resins and the need to repeat. Best to see the quality unoiled and make that decision later. Some will cause a loss of certification or worse, the destruction of the stone due to the interaction of the additive chemicals and the stone.
As with other colored stones, it requires a well-trained eye to recognize the sometimes subtle treatment variations that make significant differences in emerald value and durability.

Oil-enhanced Emeralds is the only industry-accepted practice while buying buying a natural Emerald. Any other form of enhancement will severely diminish the value of your natural Emerald and we advice against buying such an Emerald for use in high-quality fine jewelry.

You get oiled Emeralds regardless of origin (i.e. oiled from Colombia and oiled from Brazil as well). The important thing is that your jeweler should be able to fully and honestly declare which one you are buying!

Did you know that Colombia and Zambia are not the only ones, much less the main producers of emerald? did you know that in brazil there is a considerable production?
Absolutely and Brazilian Emeralds have good color and excellent saturation. They are typically less included than Colombian Emeralds too! That said, Colombia produces 70 - 90% of the world’s emerald and renowned for rare, fine-quality emeralds.

My father was a local treasure hunter for over 27 years, one day one of his friend told him that there's a treasure buried at the side of one of oldest church in our province builtin by the Spanish. With the help of the police my father started to dig in the middle of the night guarded by the local police, in just 20min. of digging my father found the things that they actually looking for. What found is round shape weighing up to 30kl and when they pointed the flashligh to it the dark green colors showed. They divided it in to 10 and my father's share is only 2 and a half kilo. But we don't know how to sale it. Until one time my uncle when home and took the gem to look for a buyer but sad to say until nothings happen. I hope you can help us to sale the gem for my father's treatment bacause his now 63 years old😥 I just want to give him the price that he work's hard for a long time.
