Meta Monday! Aeldari vs Grey Knights - Warhammer 10th Edition 40K 2000 point Battle Report

Another contender steps up to the plate to take on the reigning terror on the channel, Chris and his Aeldari! Although they've fallen a little from grace on the Warhammer 40k competitive tournament scene, the Eldar are still a force to be reckoned with, and after their very strong debut last week against Tom's Imperal Knights the Sons of Titan led up by Kaldor Draigo and a Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight throw down the gauntlet. Will the 'Kill Chris' sign finally come down? Find out here!
We're adopting some more tournament style terrain for this matchup to try and replicate a little closer the UKTC packs, and both players are very much playing to win (back to rule of cool terrain next week). We've also picked up a new hand held camera for some in battle shots, so give us a shout in the comments if you like the change, and if there's anything else you'd like to see while we try and make some improvements!

You don't have to take wounds from failed Vortex on a Librarian if he is a part of a unit, they can be allocated to regular dudes instead.

Great battle report! One note for the grey knights player- if you had consolidated into the wraithguard when the Aeldari player falls back you can use most of Deimos meaning your squad would have been safe. It’s quite the deal breaker for that unit

@@WeirdWolfGames that’s fair enough you maximised your grey knights well against the Aeldari player. I know I forget about the fall back rule which is quite fun against wraithguard or tau who hate melee

Nice Game !
The Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight only gets rerolls against monsters and vehicles, so not against the Wraithguards.
Warp spider at the end charge was a mistake : they rolled high, so as much of them as possible had to get in base to base contact with the lone strike marine, which would probably have prevented them from scoring capture enemy outpost.

I think the heavy Psycannon on the DK is now AP-2. You were running it as -1 which was updated in the balance dataslate to -2 and ignores cover.

How many factions are in this fame, while I'm seeing different character pieces?

Ah so we have about 17 armies at the studio (soon to be 18) - but there's probably about 20 factions in the game, and sub armies within a few of them. There's dozens of Space Marine chapters and different ways to paint, but around 5 have specific rules for that chapter.

@@WeirdWolfGames I run 3x shadow spectres, 3x spiders, 3x d-cannons, 2x hawks, 2x scourges, 5 man troupe, yvraine, visarche, and yncarne. There’s just too much to kill and it scores.
