This would totally burst my old mom's bubble. She seems to enjoy the tedious process of picking them out one or two at a time, and can make a single pomegrante last a week that way. I don't guess I'll tell her about it, heh!
I've got a question: Buying on the the store that doesn't appear to be fully ripe (no flattened sides), will it continue to ripen in home? Or, just go bad waiting for it to?

Hi there. This is a late response, but yes it will continue to ripen at home!
I also like picking the seeds out. It’s very satisfying to rip it apart and eat it with my hands lol

You don’t pick them out one at a time - you cut it like an Apple or orange slice, turn it upside down, remove the membrane, take a corner of the rind in ea hand and w a little pressure, voila… 30 or 40 seeds fall into the bowl! I have a sneaking suspicion that is what your mom is doing

You should actually turn the rind inside out to loosen & get the seeds out. Much quicker & easier!

WOW! Great video, Jenny honey! LURVED! I really learned a lot as I have never actually handled a real pomegranate before! (NOTE: I've drank that delicious POM Juice product years ago and I've had lots of salads in restaurants with pomegranate seeds but that is the total of my Pomegranate Experience!) TYSVM!!! Fascinating. Very well done! Did a hear a little kitty mew while you were deseeding the 2nd pomegranate under water? :)

I’ve been deseeding pomegranates since I’m 10yrs old (almost 50yrs) Ive NEVER seen that ‘beat it w a spoon method EVER! Looks tedious, time consuming and messy. I find the best way is a sharp knife, cut it in 4’s or 8’s like an apple (depending on size) and us your hands for god sake to pick them out! No messy stray seeds, no membranes that don’t belong there, just seeds. And I suggest NEVER run them under water. You just wash the taste/flavor away and end up tasting.. “watery”. If I have time, 7:15
