I’ve always love her vibe, tone and style. The jazzy, old time music and her voice is a thing of absolute perfection. Amy and Lana Del Rey are both very talented and old souls with styles and sounds that belong in a very different generation. I adore the both of them and Amy was a treasure who was lost way too soon. RIP AW 🌈🌟
I think you'll like 'F*ck Me Pumps' as well, it's from her first album! love her style. (yes, her actual dad thought she was fine but it was her management who wanted her to go)
She wrote this song in less than 30 minutes. She was chatting to Mark Ronson about her management telling him they tried to make her go to rehab and she was like no no no, with her hand up but MR, liked the line and the cadence of how she said it and asked her could she write a song around that as a hook - within 20-30 minutes she had written the whole song. MR has since spoken about it and said he thought she was in a good place at the time so didn't realise the significance of it. He looks so sad when he talks about the song :( RIP Amy, she really was a genius, I just wish she'd have gotten the help she needed :(
It was ray ..daddy ..and alcohol. That killed her .. I would have been her friend…… going back to Black means she’s going back to drug using whatever drugs she’s talking about
People were there for Amy. Don't do the whole 'I coulda saved her if I was there' bs. That's hugely disrespectful to Amy herself, those who knew her, and her legacy.
I always read “black” as depression or depression drinking.
Her father once commented “she’s fine”, but then later admitted he was mistaken and didn’t know (at the time) how bad her situation really was.
thats how it is we keep it from our parents until it’s too late unfortunately

Yes it's crazy, her dad actually thought she was fine and didn't have to go to rehab

legend gone too soon, she made history 😩🖤🌟
She’s so amazing 😢
The baby is her man her man her man, aka her biggest addiction. And her Daddy was really her daddy and yh he totally did😅
I think fine as ok... no issues all good.
Yes ive been black means her hard drinking getting out of it being strong and quiting but falling back again back in rehab or something.❤🩹
the line about her dad is fully true he is why she didnt go
In the black hole of blackout-drinking and self-destructiveness.
Everyone should have back to black in thier music collection masterpiece which she won five grammys in one night niklax

The dark side
it is 2000 😂
It was her real daddy😢
Going Black can mean feeling sad or down or depressed
As the british are, I really don't think she's singing for all the UK men in the pubs!
Black in this context means being depressed.
It was ray ..daddy ..and alcohol. That killed her .. I would have been her friend…… going back to Black means she’s going back to drug using whatever drugs she’s talking about
