She suffered from bipolar disorder and alcohol/drug addiction. And to think we're a year apart in age. I was devastated when she died. So sad. So talented. RIP Amy❤
She was bulimic too from a teenager. That along with the alcohol obviously has said be a major factor in her death. That's why she was so skinny even before the heavy drug use started.
1:00 I think she means yes she's struggled with addiction (alcohol at this point) but when she recovers and gets back to herself you'll know about it (in a positive light) unfortunately that never happened of course. I think people take this song too literally, it's less about her deciding not to go to rehab than her dealing with a tumultuous time in her life through the only way she knew how- through music. She talked a lot about this in her interviews.
Her manager/producer or something suggested rehab to her, but her father said she doesnt need it, so not the same person. Her father was controversial making a lot of money off her and pushing her to keep going. She took off to an tropical island trying to get away from it all.(she had a lot of bad media, a lot of her personal problems and relationsships where sold to media) Her father followed hetr with a camera crew..
R.I.P. sweet Amy💔She had that incredibly unique gift of being able to connect with those who were in pain - her lyrics, her music but combine that with her amazing VOICE and you have a LEGENDARY, ONCE IN A LIFETIME ARTIST! She references Donny Hathaway in 'Rehab' (well spotted!) - PLEASE do her live cover of Hathaway's - 'I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know' - ua-cam.com/video/362JArvhAqg/v-deo.html - one of her greatest performances.....mesmerising, haunting and such emotive vocals...basically what she did best. Her entire 'Back to Black' album is a Masterpiece!🔥Her debut album, 'Frank' is more jazzy but it's also amazing - raw talent! I miss her....this world & fame was too much for her to cope with. She battled bulimia in her teens/20's, alcoholism/drug addiction in her 20's and the scumbag of a husband that destroyed her - she died when she was only 27 yrs old. I don't think she knew how many people would globally mourn her death.....but I hope Amy's found peace❤🧡💛💚💙💜🖤

Donny Hathaway and Ray Charles is who she was talking about
You need to listen to ‘tears dry on their own’ Or a more upbeat song is ‘Valerie’ there will never be anyone like her - gone too soon - RIP Amy 🤍
Can you react to MIA's Bad Girls music video?
Dude, she was blacked out from drinking!
Ray was her boyfriend.
No she's talking about Ray Charles the singer. She never dated anyone called Ray.
