    I spent six months in Belize back in 1983 with the British Army . There was only a small grass airstrip then but we could get a helicopter out to San Pedro at the weekend, courtesy of the Royal Air Force. It was very quiet, chilled and laid back then, and a great escape. There were only a couple of hotels and only a few tourists, but I remember meeting a loverly young lady called Laurie, from Fort Worth, Texas, in a little beach bar and we ended up on the beach till the early morning and watched the sun rise.

      She found us! She was waiting in a golf cart at the ferry port offering tours to the passengers. We just accepted! We were able to cover the whole island with her seeing the touristy side and residential sides. The touristy side is small enough that you don't need a guide but if you want to see where locals live then getting a guide is nice.

      Yes, I would. I actually think Caye Caulker has more for kids to do than San Pedro including tarpon feeding, sting ray feeding, and there was a water park by Lazy Lizard as well. Plus Caye caulker is 100% walkable. You have to rent a go-cart to get to be best beaches and water park in Ambergris Caye.

      Yes, going vegan is a new lifestyle for us, but we love the health benefits. So glad you enjoyed the video. Hope you enjoy Belize!

    What time of the year did you visit Belize?

      This was in June, right at the start of rainy season. We still had a great time though, but naturally going in dry season would be best.

    In your opinion, which has more shops/bars/street food/restauants; Caulker or Ambergris?

    • @LucasWorldTravel
      @LucasWorldTravel  Рік тому +1

      We preferred Caulker to Ambergris. However, the town of San Pedro is a bit bigger than Caye Caulker so Ambergris has more shops and restaurants.
