I have lived in Belize for years. I totally agree with everything you’re saying. We also love Florez. The longest I’ve stayed there is two weeks and it is definitely worth the trip. Tikal is also a trip worth taking.
I plan on visiting Belize in February but are flying into Chetumal and was going to rent a car to drive into Belize. Any recommendations on that drive as we are on a short trip, land Friday morning and leaving possibly tuseday morning
Corozal is also a good spot, less touristy, there's less populated ruins, the free zone is only 20 minutes away which has a couple casinos, although I'm still unsure I'd the free zone is a part of belize. We had to cross a border and get passports stamped, but we weren't in mexico
What does the British Army do in Belize? Jungle training? Curious. I am retired military. While in Belize City I saw a military truck go by with British Soldiers.

Not difficult. We were dropped off at the border and took another shuttle bus there. The Tikal tour annoyed us and we left the group. I'm not sure how doing it alone works. You'd still need the ride

I think you’re very good highs with the treble so I say, definitely play to your strengths

You’ll have to check the forecast, but we personally find winter to be the best in terms of weather.

Yes you need a passport every time you cross these borders

Not necessarily, but you have to make sure you understand the risks of traveling there like crime, violence, tropical diseases and critters

It depends on what activities you want to do. Personally, we would do a few days on Ambergris Caye and 2 days in San Ignacio.
