  • Hey followers!
In this video we will take you through the new Job info window within our CNC3D Commander software. This video covers how to get detailed information and view your actual G-code and also covers the process for recovering from failed jobs, like broken bits.
We'll also cover how to stop and continue long jobs at another time!
This is a very handy feature for anyone with a GRBL controller and especially for those with an xPROV5 or other ESP32 GRBL controller like our Nighthawk CNC controller.

Great vid and update to Commander. Is there any reason why the spindle shouldn't raise to safe Z on application of the Commander E Stop? In the past I have broken a cutter when I tried to move the spindler after a stop, but forgot to raise it first from the E Stop position. I would think that this is an easy mistake to make for newbies as I was.

      Thanks Malcolm, great feedback.
It is hard to make a move after an Estop event is fired. If it was hit in the first place, you would expect it to stop as quickly as it can.
After the Estop is issued, the controller goes into an alarm state. It won't accept any commands except for the Unlock command. The alarm needs to be cleared first before anything can occur.
Perhaps a workaround is another message box that occurs after unlock is hit warning users to make sure to safely raise the Z. This will be when Commander is in beginner mode of course. :)

@@cnc3d That would work for me. I still consider myself a newbie, and probably always will! 🙂

hello sir, is there a return to zero z axis feature in the software? because I'm still very beginner with cnc3d commander. If this feature still doesn't exist, please add it for the next update. because it will be very helpful for a beginner like me. Thank You.

      Hi,
There is not, but you can add a button for it in "My Buttons".
Realestate is a precious commodity on the main window for an extra button.
Try making a button. For the command, use "G90 G0 Z0"
