The ACS light came on the bunk panel APU CONTROL UNIT SO I TOOK IT TO A THERMO KING SHOP. THE TECH SAID IT WAS THE BUNK EXTERNAL FAN 20AMP FUSE HE REPLACED IT WITH A 25AMP FUSE DUE TO THE FAN UNIT AFTER TIME STARTS PULLING MORE AMPS.

    Here's my problem, SOLVED. Volvo 780 '16
yelow trialngle came on after starting apu, noticed its not blowing cold as it used to.
After 5min apu shuts off, red triangle came on, snowflake flashing and green acs on.
Did some research, you can download thermo king manual, for those who are wondering ACS is ac related problem, ENG-engine and ALT-alternator/battery.
My problem was a fuse, in 780 volvo they are located under passanger side bunk, black box with big fuse scheme, you have to unscrew 4 screws and there they are.
Started checking from top, 4th fuse-7cf F11 20A, blown madafaka! Replaced it with same 20A, I see some people recommend 25A instead but I'll keep 20A in it and we'll see how long it holds, I'll post here if anything happens.
So glad I wasn't lazy to look this up on UA-cam especially cause I serviced it 2 weeks ago, 350$!
I swear these things are so temperamental!

Owner operator...Thank You so much lead me to my problem. However, my fuse F11 (7CF) was blown. 2015 Thermoking APU....so check the F11 (7CF) or as this gentleman stated check F12 (FAN1)...same code hazard with ACS....My fuse blew running overnight in rainstorm....also turning my heater on late night may caused my fuse to blow as well... may be the reason for the F11 and not the F12 blown. Thanks again.

As mentioned earlier, I installed a 25 amp in place of the 20 amp in the 7CF slot. The unit ran fine for another 30 hours then got the warning again. Fuse OK, then found that the condenser fan was seized. Need to replace. Looks like the fan bearings were on their way out causing additional current draw. I will replace the fan then reinstall the original 20 amp fuse.

I had the yellow triangle and then run for 20 minutes or so. I'd restart the APU and it would runnfornb20 minutes and shut off. I was told by a thermo king dealer that i needed a new a/c compressor. Or freon is low. I let it go for some time. A friend of mine worked for that thermo king. And quit. I asked him what's the deal. He said 90% of the time, it's a ground or loose connection issue. I spent couple hours taking connectors apart, cleaning them, and reconnecting.
After all connection cleaning, alternator connections, and major ground to frame, it fires up and works just fine

Edit: After reading through the comments I checked the main fan outside, and yeah that baby doesn't move a muscle. So guess its something fan related but not the fuse... I'm just a dumb company driver but either way out here melting in GA/TN last 4 days so was hoping to find/fix the problem myself.

I havent checked the fuses but with it working i feel like the fuse has to be good. Im fixing to be home im gonna pull it to the barn and check it out. The shop left the bottom covor off the apu for about 6 momths after they serviced it and dirt and all kind of stuff got up in there and is all over everything. Im almost wondering if that dirt isnt stopping up my condenser and its over heating and cutting off. Ill keep yall posted.

Under normal circumstances, you would never ever upgrade the fuse... except this time. Its not the fuse is old, but that fan on initial start requires more than 20a. After starts it requires less than 20a. So why the heck do they just start with a 25a fuse I dont know. Technically speaking the wire should also be upgraded to handle the momentarily requirement for the extra start up "juice."
