Considering my diet and sleeping habits, it's amazing that I'm not dead. I'm so used to five hours I can't sleep longer if I want to. Anytime I go to bed before 1, I wake up at 5 or 6. And I regularly consume 1,200 calories in one sitting. When I felt a headache my solution was to consume 8 cinnamon rolls. I'm thriving.
All major hospitals and medical organizations recommend 6 to 8 hours. 8 hours is NOT FOR EVERYBODY. It depends on factors such as age, physical activity level, stress level, job or occupation and mental capacity. Note: those who smoke, drink excessively and have poor diets NEED MORE SLEEP!

If you do this or want to do this or never sleep at all like me, then you will get headache, extreme tiredness, cant focus at specific thing, develop blurry eyes at unnoticable rate. This also cause you to sleep through the whole day because of being tired and awake the whole night and not sleep again which cause the cycle repeat

I lived off of around 5 hours of sleep all of highschool and did fine with all my school work. Now that I’m in college I’ve challenged myself to get a full 8 hours every night. It was hard the first few weeks because even though I got the full 8 hours I always felt groggy and had low energy. Eventually my body and brain got used to the regular 8 hours and I honestly don’t feel any different than when I lived off 5. If anything, I feel compelled to take more naps for some reason almost every afternoon.
For those whom need help use Valerian root , Lemon Balm , Passionflower , Chamomile , Lavender ( all natural no side effects works gently on humans not against it like prescription sleep aids )
Because of my natural wake/sleep cycle (which, if left undisturbed would have me going to sleep sometime around 2-3am and waking around 10-11am) and the fact that the world is unfairly *biased* towards "larks" rather than "owls" - most work hours, all school hours, I've got less than 8 hours sleep a night most of my life. Going to bed at midnight is "an early night" for me - and there's no guarantee I won't just lie awake until 2 or 3 in the morning - and I've got to get up at 7am at the latest in order to get my kids to school and myself to work. This means *at best* 7 hours of sleep, if not 6, 5 or 4 hours. Every night from Sunday night/Monday morning to Thursday night/Friday morning. We need more employers who give "Four to Midnight" as options for work hours and we need schools that have hours more conducive to those kids that are naturally "night owls" or are children of "night owls" - the way the whole world has been co-opted by those bloody *morning people* is frankly a disgrace. For tens of thousands of years, we "night owls" protected those lily-livered soft "early to bed, early to rise" _larks_ while they slept; kept them safe from night-hunting predators and invasions from other tribes. Now, the "larks" control the world and call *us* "lazy" because we don't spring joyously out of bed at the first dim light of dawn - that's their "gratitude" for ya! Because of their narcissistic pseudo-pious attitude towards "the right time to rise" and "the right time to sleep", we night owls have to work to the larks' time schedule. Time to balance the books, I think: it's time we make the "standard work hours" _4pm to midnight_ and call them "lazy" when they start nodding off at 8 or 9pm...
Seeing as I average 2-3 hours a night for almost 3 years now, I'm in real trouble. Sleeping 20 min at a time and waking up non stop really takes a toll on one's health.
This might not be true for all people. It may also depend on the activity which you do during the day. The writer of Naruto, masashi kishimoto slept only 3 hours a day on his regular schedule (which is released). He seemed to function fine enough to create the amazing manga he did and sustained that routine for quite a long time . How do you explain that?
Who's in the under 6 hours of sleep club? And will this video change that going forward?

ASAP science: 8 hours of sleep is necessary
My Sleep Paralysis Demon: AbsolutelyFuckingNot
Oh shut up, you dont get sleep paralysis and you're just a pussy
@@ItsClaxton D:
@@ItsClaxton only a pussy would say that shit
Well, in sleep paralasis your brain is technically still lucid which in turn kinda means your sleeping soooo
People with the "classic" form of narcolepsy get sleep paralysis.
I am recently, finally getting more regular sleep, and it is wonderful. I used to be terrible. Glad you are doing this.
2 hours less than nothing? How do you get negative sleep?
You be awake twice at the same time.
@@siyacer looooool xD

Jonathan Lopez You’re dumb for that lol
"What if you slept 2 hours less?"
Then I'd get no sleep
Student : (sleep 8 hours a day)
School : *wait that's illegal*
😂
Should be sleeping now, 5 hours till I'm meant to be waking up, I'm feeling great 😂👌👌
I love college
Alina hope everything is going well in college, cheers!
Bold of you to assume I am actually able to sleep as a student in the modern day education system
“we need 8 hours of sleep”
me pulling all nighters 😳

Lil Notoriginal how would you know that tho? Lol some people can easily pull all nighters. It’s 5 am for me right now.

Recommended : 8-10 h of sleep
School: 8-10=-2
Please keep making this style of vids, its the reason a lot of people subbed in the first place!
You're implying I sleep
4 hrs every night (if I was lucky) for an entire school year almost killed me, and I definitely have noticeable brain dablage from it. Constantly bursting into tears in front of people & teachers. Deathly ill every month. Suicidal. Memory loss. Went on to get a degree in UAV robotics that I don't even use. 0/10 would not sacrifice sleep ever again
Me: having literally 6.23 hours average in 2019...
Idk how you do
I sleep 9-10 hours per night and can't really have less
If I go 7 for a week I go 17 hours then 12 then 9 9 9
@@Bossimpson3 Thats ridicilous. You sleep almost half of your life
Literally, on average of sleep I got last week was something like 3.5 hours
I get usually and average of 6 hours and 45 minutes of sleep. So I get 45 minutes more sleep than a person sleeping at directly 6 hours.
I can't fall asleep easily, I think about situations and future events, college and exams etc, I wonder how can people fall asleep in less than 5 minutes while I struggle for hours. I can say that I've slept less than 6 hours for months.
TIH Wo Ke same boat. It’s extremely difficult nowadays. Also keep waking up in the middle of the night
Me: I need to get more sleep because I'm only getting 6 hours of sleep
Social life, homework, tests, extracurricular activities, hobbies, eating, using the bathroom, personal hygene: allow us to introduce ourselves

*Sleep ain't for the weak, it is for the smart.*
I'm fifteen years old, and unlike my peers, I sleep from 9pm-6am or 7 am. I always felt like 'I'm the only person in the world of this age who sleeps 9 hours or more', but this video says that, though I'm a bit weird, my sleeptime will help me to live more effectively when I don't sleep.
“Sleep is a burden” can’t relate
Me in weekends: passing 6:00 AM
Me in school days: wakes up exactly at 6:00 AM
Who relates?
SCIENCE says we need 8 hours of sleep every night........
BUT I CAN'T SLEEP BECAUSE OF SCIENCE!!!!
Lol🤣🤣
The ad before the video was oddly a commercial for a Master Class on how to sleep better.
I know alot already mention in videos. I just like to talk from my own experience
ASAP: you need to sleep 8 hours.
Me An intellectual: *sleeps for 10 hours
Oversleeping is just as unhealthy
I sleep 14 hours when I dont have school. Sleep at 10 and wake up at 12 PM or sleep at 12am and wake up at 2pm lollllllll
I got the add where they claim that needing 7 to 8 hours of sleep is all just a huge lie.
meh, it's not that hard to test. Get 4-6 hours of sleep a night and see if you feel your best. I bet you won't. Get 7-9 hours of sleep a night and I bet you'll feel much more rested.
@@Chickaqee Well if you get 8h of sleep everynight and suddenly you cut it to 4 ofc your body wont be fully rested.Do it for 1 or 2 months and THEN talk about results. You can't build an habit in 1 day.People who use sleep cycles fill well rested and energetic so the study asap talked about in the video makes no sense when they only did it for 2 weeks.
8 hours is ⅓ of 1 day
That means we r sleeping 20 years if we assume our life span is 60 years.
Guys i just want to let you know you are amazing, i lost my way recently and had a BIG fight with my teacher. Im in year 11 and im not doing too great and i lost my way and started to become a bad kid. You guys reminded me of my old passion for science and now i feel really bad for my teacher, thanks for putting me back on track
I love how im watching this knowing damn well im doing a 24-hour no sleep lock-in with people and still look forward to it
asap science: we need 8 hours of sleep every night
school: are you in the right headspace to receive information that could possibly hurt you?
this video for most people: what if you only sleep 6 hours
this video for me: what if you sleep -1 hour
Need to wake up in 2 hours..
Exactly lol
From looking at the comments here, it's very worrying seeing people saying school affects them a lot. From person experience I can agree with this. Can we just all agree that school is ruining all of our childhood lives and now school is also ruining our mental health 👍
my friend was doing the same for month ..his brain is not working properly now..he suddenly forgot everything anytime..... now he is taking pills daily....please do not try these all..take minimum 6 hour sleep
Be me: a college student who procrastinates and gets 3-7ish hours of sleep. We good tho. 🤠
So that is why I am having those moments where my head falls forward and I jerk awake. (While working)
Or you could just be about to sleep but are not in a good position to do so
Yikes! That is major sleep deprivation.
Asapscience: you need 8 hours of sleep
Schools: bring it up again and you will get more homework
I lived off of around 5 hours of sleep all of highschool and did fine with all my school work. Now that I’m in college I’ve challenged myself to get a full 8 hours every night. It was hard the first few weeks because even though I got the full 8 hours I always felt groggy and had low energy. Eventually my body and brain got used to the regular 8 hours and I honestly don’t feel any different than when I lived off 5. If anything, I feel compelled to take more naps for some reason almost every afternoon.
For those whom need help use Valerian root , Lemon Balm , Passionflower , Chamomile , Lavender ( all natural no side effects works gently on humans not against it like prescription sleep aids )
aw that's very nice of you, thank you
I got an ad about sleeping lessons before watching this video.
me and the boys at school being 1000% more likely to have a heart attack
Noti gang where u at
Because of my natural wake/sleep cycle (which, if left undisturbed would have me going to sleep sometime around 2-3am and waking around 10-11am) and the fact that the world is unfairly *biased* towards "larks" rather than "owls" - most work hours, all school hours, I've got less than 8 hours sleep a night most of my life.
I like how this was posted on my bday and I barely slept but had so much energy
Well, time to sleep.

Seeing as I average 2-3 hours a night for almost 3 years now, I'm in real trouble. Sleeping 20 min at a time and waking up non stop really takes a toll on one's health.
I love these video bc they are short, simple and straight to the point
Loss of concentration?

Soooo having a baby can increase cancer ??? I haven’t slept more than 5 hours a night in over a year and def not 5 hours straight .... lol

“you need at least 8 hours of sleep a night”
school: anyways back to what i was saying
My brain read the title as “What if you sleep for 2 hours a day?” HAHAHA
Maybe you need more sleep lol
My family: I get 8 hrs of sleep.
My friends: I only get 4-6hrs of sleep.
Me: Y’all get sleep!
I have insomnia tho
This might not be true for all people. It may also depend on the activity which you do during the day. The writer of Naruto, masashi kishimoto slept only 3 hours a day on his regular schedule (which is released). He seemed to function fine enough to create the amazing manga he did and sustained that routine for quite a long time . How do you explain that?
You guys have no idea how much this video was needed
Science: Students need at least 7-9 hours of sleep to feel good and process information in class correctly.
