Glad i clicked on your videos, my great uncle gave me his all his reloading stuff and i put a big shot bottle on for 12 gauge and it spits powder out and the charge bar gets stuck pretty sure i need the bottle support!
I have 2 of these and 2 grabbers. The jr by far is the better option. Especially for .410. If people that shoot 12ga all the time ever tried .410 and 28ga they would never shoot 12ga again. I shoot sporting clays all the time with a .410 Browning over/under. I went to the local club the other day and had all my 28ga stuff ready to go and I put it all back up and drug out my .410. It’s very addictive. I love reloading as much as shooting.
Can you make a video of what the difference is between a good pre-crimp and a bad pre-crimp looks like? I'm having a lot of trouble in my final crimp stage loading 410 on my mec sizemaster.
Hi. It's not difficult for me to make a 410 caliber cartridge with different ammunition. There are many different components for self-fitting 410 cartridges sold in Russia
Im trying to load with a grabber for the 410 but haven't been able to overcome the leaking powder problem, it jams up the charge bar very fast using H110 with new washers and gaskets . Do you have a solution with your set up or a better powder to use to solve the issue?
@noonzeeb I have never used a grabber but make sure you have the metal washer in there that goes with the rubber gasket. It may seem silly but unless you have a brand new machine you might replace these as they wear and it cause powder to leak. I also don’t use H110 I use Alliant 410 powder.
Thanks for the reply, I have some alliant powder on order and will try that , maybe the h110 is just to fine because I set up my sizemaster and it has the same problem. Thanks for the information, great channel
Are there other powder/shot bushings i should buy to have on hand? I see this comes with a 10,11,12. Being i just ordered the press there may be other items i want with it
Go to your loading manual to see the amount of propellant called for for your particular recipe. For example, the recipe calls for 15 grains of Hodgdon Titewad. Then go to the MEC bushing chart to see which one will drop that charge. That's the one you'll want to have. I would also get the next one up and the next one down. The bushings are accurate, but not precise. Remember to weigh the charges to confirm the bushing is dropping the correct charge.
just finished all 4 parts in this series. Thanks for the tips and suggestions. What are your thoughts on Universal Charge Bars instead of picking up tons of bushings? I can not find them in stock anywhere though! and I've been looking all over CO, Cabellas, Sportsman's Warehouse, etc.
I have never used an adjustable charge bar. I have a lot more confidence in the bushing just from personal experience. Call MEC directly and they will sell you bushing.
Do you ever load tss in the .410? Im looking at investing in reloading gear so i can use my .410 to shoot close working mn puddle ducks. Just curious what id need to have vs what is just nice to have. Ill build upon my gear after i can load some to see if its a good combonation. I shoot 28ga currently but tss intrigues me as i can load more pellets and get better performance out of an even smaller shell.
What do you think about the pre-primed hulls? I've got a semi-auto saiga that shoots 3" only and can tear up hulls if they aren't a high enough quality plastic. I've seen good looking pre primed hulls for under .19 cents a hull so it seems to be worth it versus about .55 cents a shot for store bought 3" rounds

I have been using that press with a universal bar for about 30 years and it is still working and best loader for the price.
Howdy, are you still reloading .410 shotshells
Yes

Thanks!

Company that makes universal charge bar is out of business.

Brand new to reloading . Haven't even unpacked. Where is the best place to buy supplies . It seems every one is out
Best place to buy right now is wherever you can find it!
I loaded thousands of shotshells with MEC reloaders
There’s demand now!

Never bought any pre-primed hulls but I am sure they are fine.
where you at in the midwest?
You need some trapping videos
Sorry man but all your videos, while informative, are just too verbose :(
