    I just started reloading with mine. The crimps take a bit of practice, but after a couple not great crimps, they are coming out like factory for me. Love this little kit.

    I have just got mine and have so far have only deprimed and resized a few .410 shells, due to the virus I haven't been able to get my hands on reloading supplies but the XRing reloader looks well made and simple to use. I'm looking forward to reloading all my .410 ammo. The XRing is also smaller and lighter than my 30/30 Lee Loader and easily fits in a pocket.

      Hello and thank you for commenting.
      We appreciate the feedback.
      With this Virus stuff going on, I understand it is getting harder for shooters to get re-supplied.
      On thing that I did to get my 410 once fired hulls was;
      I bought the cheapest loaded shells from Walmart. I let my grandson shoot them for practice and kept the hulls. Now I have just over 100 once fired hulls. This is what I use to make my 00 buck and slug loads.
      I hope you get supplied, I think you will enjoy using the Survival Loader. It's actually hands-on fun.
      Best regards. Barry

    I just purchased this kit, it works well, crimps aren’t great but they work. I would recommend a separate roll crimper, either manual or drill type. A scale is also nice, you can work it with dippers. Dippers however requires a bit of practice. Overall I would purchase it again, this video was the deciding factor for me. Thanks for making it.

      barry declined thanks Barry, I’m sure with practice it will only get better. We are shooters don’t need to scrounge eBay anymore for those old Lee loaders you have a great product and in my opinion it is superior to the Lee design especially the roll crimp feature which is not available on the lee. 20 guage please.

      Roger Pilon we are working on a 20 ga prototype. When it finally becomes available, our UA-cam subscribers will be notified first. Plus a reduced price to thank them for their loyalty.
      The roll crimp option with the 410 kit is pretty much limited to those who still have a supply of the paper/fiber hulls. On the thick plastic hulls a roll crimp tool is needed. Those usually involve some kind of electric drill to use.
      Goes beyond what we the Survival Loaders designed purpose. But. Things can be added to enhance the kit.
      Please comment anytime. We like to hear both good and bad. Can’t improve the product without your hands on feedback.
      Remember. It’s up to us to stick together to protect our rights to own.
      Best regards

    I bought this set and was very happy with its quality. All the components were nice polished aluminum and fit the shell real nice. I made a buckshot shell correctly on the first try and enjoyed it
    For me the roll crimp tool and a shot over card worked out very well and gave me a neat clean shotgun shell.
    This product would be a good fit for making slugs, buckshots or just reloading your now hard to get 410hulls that you cant bear-to throw away
    I was able to fit all the components in a new style Lee flat plastic die box. This included a shot/powder dipper. Roll crimper and Lee Number 16 shell holder.

      Yes. You are correct. In testing we use very hard hits. Never had one discharge.
      Kinda like when a semi-auto pistol chambers a live round. The slide face hits the primer.
      But, it is smooth and flat.
      It needs a point like that of a firing pin to set it off.

    This is a great reloading tool,I have the Lee hand loader for a 12 gauge and this .410 design is alot better in my opinion but I still think the lee hand loaders are great as I do own several of them.
    Any .410 shooter should definitely purchase one of these as you would be so impressed such as myself.Its just a great unit to use and I love the station idea as its just so portable.
    It took just 8 days to receive this survival loader sent to Australia,Australia customs did open it as they left a letter inside the box to show that it passed our custom laws which I new that already,So anyone from Australia get this kit and I know theres a few of yas that want a good .410 kit.
    Post was $35 but it was worth it.
    Thank you for such a great kit,my daughter was straight into it reloading her .410 shells.

    Graham. I have both and they work great.
    Its a survival loader, so it's meant to be portable in a survival or emergency..
    (try putting a bench loader in your pocket or bug out bag)
    If you recall the old Lee Loader for the shotguns, they command premium prices when you find one on ebay and this survival loader is way better quality and a well thought out design.
    I'm guessing the price reflects the machining needed to make it.
    Only negative is that I bought mine on ebay. It was more money buying it on ebay.
    Don't know why the price difference but I'm guessing is probably got something to do with the high ebay seller fees.
    Anyway, I like mine and am glad I bought them.

    I bought the .410 reloader. The swage tool is different than the video. I am a pretty strong guy, and cannot push the tools together hard enough to get the final crimp to work correctly, and I thinks its because the Pre-crimper tools are not the same as the video. They just dont fold the crimp in far enough. Everything else worked perfectly. Maybe I just need practice. The quality of the parts were outstanding. I ordered the roll-crimp tool, perhaps that will help out when it arrives.

      I had the same problem,..
      it turned out to be ok with practice...
      apparently the video is their first generation kit....
      I contacted them and they said the generation 2 kits that have been out for the past 2 years are a much better kit,..
      I have the newer kit,,,they said the crimp and swager thingy made a big improvement.,,,, I think it was just me needing to get the right feel.....
      but,,,they told me that if I was not satisfied that I could return it for a refund......
      at least they are honest in that regards......
      hope it works for you,,,,I'm getting great crimps now.....Roy 😀

It works well, when I say crimps aren’t great, I mean the aren’t as factory, but most reloading machines for shotshells are not, even those costing many hundreds of dollars. This kit worked especially well with overshot cards and formerly roll crimped hulls. I’m very happy.

    G'Day from Australia,
    Your instructional video was very clear and easy to follow. I recently bought a single shot 410 shotgun after shooting 12gauge for over fifty years. The last time I took out the SxS12g, I kept wondering why I was lugging the weight and did I need its oomph for shooting close range rabbits. The little 410 will get the job done when used within it's limitations. Very interested in buying this reloading kit. Our gun laws here in OZ can be a little illogical at times. I'm a little concerned that Customs might seize the kit when it comes into the country. Have you sent one to Australia?
    Thanks for the video.

    Good morning. In answer to your question.
    NO. Please. NO.
    Do Not use any mallet or hammer on a Live or Loaded shell.
    Once you have powder in the case. DO NOT use anything to strike or hit a live round.
    The crimping process is by Hand Only.
    Hitting live or loaded shells is a disaster waiting to happen. And happen it will.
    Keep your eyes, Keep your fingers. Stay alive.
    Please don't give the "anti-gunners" more reason's to use against us. They already make the claim that reloading is unsafe and should be banned.

      for 12 ga. I use Titewad.
      I like H110 powder for the 410.
      It works great for the 410 and for my 45 Colt.
      As for how powder weight. That is a big variable.
      It depends on the weight of the shot load. I have several different loads. Each with different amounts of powder.
      Best that you go online to one of the reloading site to see what they recommend for load data.

    I am trying to find a permanent solution. Would this work with the MagTech brass 410 shells? Clearly not all the steps are needed in those shells.

    • @barrydeclined2547
      @barrydeclined2547  3 роки тому +1

      Hello JD. I have loaded the all brass MagTech 410 cases with my personal kit.
      Here is what I found.
      1: Most of the cases just slipped into the Size Die with finger pressure. So, you would not be able to do the resizing step.
      2: Decapping. The pin on the decap rod is the larger diameter to remove 209 shot shell primers. The MagTech case has the small pistol hole and you would not be able to remove the primers. I had to buy a LEE decap rod for pistol primers.
      Other than those issues, I was able to load my MagTech cases. I couldn't crimp the brass.
      I used an "overshot" wad and sealed the end with lacquer. They worked just fine. But, if I needed to resize them, I cant.
      RCBS sells a "Cowboy Action" Size Die made for the all brass cases. It also has the right Decap rod. Kinda pricey, but if you are doing a lot of brass cases, I might be worth the money.
      I would love to sell you our Survival Loader kit, but for all brass cases, you would be waisting your money.
      I hope this information helps.
      Feel free to contact me if I can help.
      Best regards

    • @barrydeclined2547
      @barrydeclined2547  9 місяців тому

      As you know. Components like Primers, powder and such are different to find.
      I use any standard 209 primer I can find.
      Wads, In 410 I get Clays from Ballistic Products.
      In 410, I like H110.
      It also doubles for my 45 Colt.
      In the other gages it depends on what I am loading.
      Game shot, buck or slugs.
      Each will take different powders, wads and powder charges.
      But.
      All use a 209 primer.
      That’s a commonality with them.
      Good loading data can be found online from the Powder manufacturer.
      Or, find a current reloading data book.

      @barrydeclined2547  4 роки тому

      Good evening:
      The '"red" tool is a Hornady Crimp Starter.
      In the video I am using our original tool which I personally like.
      That said. We updated our kits about a year ago and now included it in our Kits.
      While it costs more to include; at the same time It cut down on manufacturing time. So, it was a trade-off.
      The 12-20-410 gage kits all now have the Hornady Crimp Starter. Some people like them, some like the original.
      We also have them for sale as an accessory to add to a kit.
      It is a nice addition since the 12 & 20 ga. shells come with different point crimps, depending on manufacturer. So, we offer them in 6 point and 8 point. The 410 is 6 point only.
      Hope this helps. Feel free to write me if I can be of more help.

    This is a reply I posted two someone who claimed the "ammo shortage" was nearly over. Thought it might be interesting to share::::::::::::::::::::::::
    There never was a shortage. Shooters in Canada had plenty of US made stuff on the shelves and so did buyers Internationally. (go online and check out the Canadian stores)
    What we have ; is ammunition makers setting us up for the new Prices.
    When you see ammo that used to be $12 bucks or less now selling for $29 or more, you will think its' a bargain.
    This is nothing but "price resetting".
    I was at a major sporting good store just last week.
    They were at about 1/2 the capacity of ammo on the shelves.
    Actually they had a fairly good amount. .
    ,223/556 was $44.95 for a box of 20. This used to be under $5 bucks.
    When i asked the manager about the prices, he said they are paying 3 times the old "wholesale prices" to the manufacturers.
    SO
    This is about the ammo makers just resetting the price and making you glad to pay it.
    Willing to pay $29.95 for. box of ammo?
    When you cave, they will have plenty for you to buy.

    Looks good except for that ugly star crimp. Is the inside of the crimp starting tool actually patterned like on a real shotgun reloader (Mec Spidex, etc.) or not? The video and images on website do not reveal this.

    • @barrydeclined2547
      @barrydeclined2547  6 років тому +1

      Hello and thank you for writing.
      NO. The 410 kit crimp starter does not have internal grooves like a commercial crimper.
      In the 410, we found that 2 commercial crimpers would be needed to make a Reloading machine quality crimp. Many Reloading Presses require 2 crimpers. (a starter & a set crimper)
      This adds additional steps. (in 12 ga. this is not an issue- we included the Hornady crimper in that kit)
      Since this is an Emergency-Survival loader, we felt the extra steps and the costs not warranted,
      That said, a commercial crimper(s) may be purchased separately and added to the 410 kit.
      In our testing, we found the commercial crimper did not make a significant difference with the 410.
      I do agree that a Reloading Press with the commercial grooved crimpers does provide superior reloads,
      That said;, In an emergency, when you need ammo quickly; Pretty is way down the list after speed of manufacture and reliability.
      The Survival Loader offers affordability with an acceptable compromise, in a small package.
      Best regards

      Good morning.
      First let me say, you will not be stuck if you find our product isn't for you, You have our 30 day return/money back warranty. Just contact us via the email address for return information. ( thexringusa@yahoo.com )
      Now, to address the issues you are experiencing. It sounds like you have correctly assessed the problem. The swelling or bulging of the case mouth after it has been crimped. But, let's find out for sure.
      First we need to determine if it is the bulging on the crimp or the sizing on the metal base.
      Take another shell case and do the Full resize process.
      Then cut off the plastic part of the hull right above the brass metal. Now you will have just the metal base.
      Insert the metal base into the shotgun's chamber with finger pressure. if it goes in with slight to moderate finger pressure, then the problem is not with the base resizing.
      The bulging or swelled case mouth is what is keeping the case from seating.
      To reduced the bulge, insert the shell into the "crimp form" tool. (the end with the concave opening) and push firmly. Also rotate at the same time to help reduce or remove the bulge. You can also use the Hornady Crimp starter to do the same. This should help.
      All that said;
      If you decide our Survival Loader is not working to your expectations, feel free to use the warranty for a refund.
      Please contact us at thexringusa.com We have now moved to a new address in Arizona. We will send you instructions for the return and refund. You worked hard for your money. we refund it if you are not satisfied.

      Hello Mark: Canada. Yes, the Canadians are stocked with US made components.
      I

      In my opinion, the US shortage is fake.

      Wow, no ammo from Winchester, Federal, Hornady or the rest.

      Anyway, rather than rant on, please search further down for my post on the Shortage and the Canadians getting ammo and reloading components.
      And, you can check for yourself. Go to one of the many Canadian online stores such as:

      I found it and decided to re-post.
      QUESTION:::::
      Is the Primer & Powder shortage real, or another "gun control" method?
      Why is Canada getting USA made powders & primers when shooters in the US market can't?
      The Canadian don't seem to have a problem getting American made reloading supplies and ammunition.
      Primers from Cci and Winchester are available in Canadian stores.
      :::::::::::::::::::::See for yourself:::::::::::::::::::::::::
      Here is just one of the many Canadian shops.
      sportegue.com or bullseyenorth.com and many others.
      Even the big 2 here in the USA (cabalas & bass pro) don't have ammo, powder or primers for sale.
      One reason the US manufacturers claim for the shortage is: millions of 1st. time gun buyers bought the ammunition.
      QUESTION:::
      Did they also become 1st. time reloaders?
      And why can't foreign Primers be imported to fill the gap?
      Brands such as Seller Bellot, RWS, Fiocchi, have boxer primers, not just burdan.
      I guess there must have been a lot of 1st time gun buyers and reloaders in Europe.
      Either way:
      Maybe I am wrong, I have been wrong on things before. But for now, it's my opinion this is made to order shortage.
      What do you think

      While we don't have one for the 10 ga, you might try another manufacturer called "Lanes Reloader".

      They have a totally different system than ours, but it may be something you can use.

      Hello John:
      You are correct. New cases do not crimp well.
      This is designed as a "Re-Loader".
      New shells do not have established crimp folds to make a decent crimp...
      As a Re-Loader you will need to use previously fired shells.
      Those will work great. They will reload & crimp very nicely.
      We advertise the Survival Loader is for use on previously fired cases.
      I hope this help to clarify why a New case does not crimp well.
      Your comment is appreciated.

      One thing that might help make a crimp fold on brand new unformed shells…….
      Thinning the case mouth with the “skive tool” that you can get from Ballistic Products.
      It is designed to do this exact job.
      New cases are thick.
      Skiving makes the hull mouth thinner to help it fold easier on new unformed cases.
      It’s an option I thought I would mention to help.
      Please update me and share how you do with all this.
      Other re-loaders will find your results interesting.

      For the 12 ga. you need a 3/4” punch.
      We do not sell them. The one in the demo video was bought on ebay. It was fairly inexpensive.
      They are a leather “hole” punch. You might look at Tandy Leather online or ebay.

    My .410 loader arrived this week. Very easy to use and great quality well worth the money.
    Barry I was wondering have you had any experience with these: www.ebay.com/itm/410GA-wad-cutter-pellet-bullet-mold-AS-Lyman-style/292198322361 Wad Cutter Pellet Slugs. I would like to able to reload these slugs other than just being limited to shot loads. If possible could we discuss the reloading data that you used for the reloading demonstrated in this video, as well as possible reload data that you would recommend for these pellet wad cutter slugs.
    My powder of choice is the Alliant 410.
    I am looking at the lyman reloading data for the 410 2 1/2" Winchester HS plastic cases. For 1/2 oz. shot loads it says 12.5 grains charge. However, the description for the pellet wad cutter slugs says they weigh 117 grains (a bit more than a 1/4 oz). Since the slug weight is less than a 1/2 oz, would I still use the same 12.5 grain charge if not what should the charged be reduced to?
    Thanks
    Isac H.

    This applies to International sales only:
    Normally we ship to International customers.
    However;
    Due to the Virus lockdown, and the rising case numbers, we had to again suspend International shipping.
    A dealer is posting Survival Loader Kits on Ebay.
    Ebay still ships Internationally through their Global Program.

      Hello Romin. We now ship to several European countries. The Netherlands is now one of them.
      The issues we ran into was getting the different Country Customs to let us know if our product was allowed.
      Our webstore is set up for sales to the USA only, due the free shipping default in the web program.
      Netherlands Customs cleared our first order to a customer just this last month.
      That said, his feedback reported the Netherlands Custom duties and taxes were rather expensive.
      If you want to place an International order to the Netherlands, send us an email with your city and zip code for a shipping quote.
      We will then send you the information needed to place the order.
      We handle the Customs form at no charge.
      Different countries have different shipping rates. Hence the need to send us an email to get an accurate quote.

    QUESTION:::::
    :::::::::::::::::::::See for yourself:::::::::::::::::::::::::
    Here is just one of the many Canadian shops.
    www.bullseyenorth.com/reloading-primers
    Even the big 2 here in the USA (cabalas & bass pro) don't have ammo, powder or primers for sale.
    One reason the US manufacturers claim for the shortage is: millions of 1st. time gun buyers bought the ammunition.
    QUESTION:::

      We use Paypal as our one point payment system.
      From previous experiences, we find that they have a good fraud protection program for both the Buyer, and for us the seller. Plus, Paypal accepts most major credit cards for the buyers convenience.
      We use their USPS shipping label program to print the postage labels.
      We get a nice discount on the postage and pass that on to the customer.
      One reason we can off "free shipping". We get a reduced shipping rate and absorb the rest of the cost.
      We also sell International. They provide the program for Currency Rate conversions.
      Its' easy for people to sign on and they can cancel if they don't want to stay with a Paypal account.
      All of this is free for the buyer.
      We also offer mail in orders as an alternative.

      Good morning. Thank you for your comment.
      Yes, in the technical sense you are right.
      Today however, Shotguns can be found marked on the barrel as 410 bore (especially in Europe) and 410 ga..
      Currently, many modern US manufacturers (mossberg for one) mark their barrel 410 GA..
      As for ammunition. Most ammunition found in stores today is marked as either just 410, or 410 ga.
      Since our product is for reloading of ammunition, we use 410 gauge. Both terms are correct.
      We thank you, and encourage readers to share their expertise. Sharing your knowledge helps make informed shooters and reloaders.
      Firearms history is most fascinating and most everyone has something to contribute for us all to learn and enjoy.
