Finally a Gunbreaker weapon that's more Garlean and less Squall/Thancred. By that I mean: it's a gun with a blade attached, rather than a blade with a revolver chamber attached. Really nice Reaper scythe too; I always prefer the sleeker scythes over the super chunky ones. Samurai having a rapier is a bit of a surprise, since RDM is literally the Rapier job; but it's nice to have the variety, and I love slim SAM sheathes over all the chunky ones. Candelabra for WHM fits so well, surprised it took this long to get one.
They chose to Rinascita sets to match the Alexandria setting but I wish they would have designed some new pieces and just updated the dye channels for the EW version. The weapons look gorgeous though so no complaints there.
I’ve noticed that even if they visually update old gear, it doesn’t look as nice as new ones that are built from the ground up. Look at dragoon artifact armor (DT) and look at Estinien in cutscenes. Even though Estinien’s Stormblood dragoon armor is updated, it simply doesn’t look as good as the new DT Dragoon armor. But regardless, visually updating old stuff is still a good thing and better than not doing it.
@@JayShifuIt's not like they need to update all the gear, just the job gear and the crafted cosmetics, but fr why bother with the graphics update if even the new job gear is going to be crunchy

These are so lazy it's not even funny. We've reached the point where we're reusing the models for crafted gear from the previous expansion for new crafted gear in the new expansion. It was bad enough seeing the Scaevan set reused yet again for the second time in a row, but this? Come on man, there's no excuse for this.
@@PunnyFuzz I mean, sure, they do, and that's nice and all, but new models for armor would have been appreciated as well, or if they were going to reuse models, at least make it something that we didn't literally just get in the previous expansion for the same purpose. Like, as an example, they could have just given us Ivalice gear with 2 dye slots and I'd have been more than happy with that. That honestly would have been an awesome addition. We've reused the HW raid models for stuff before, so why not? Even more bizarre imo is the fact that despite using the same exact model, the older sets do not have the two dye system added to them even though the new additions do. If they're reusing the models and textures anyway and just updating them to use the new system for the new gear, why not also apply that to the old gear at the same time?
