The long awkward cart ride at the start of Skyrim as you skip through all the dialogue but have to wait for the cart to hit it's marks for the next dialogue cue to happen. I'm looking Ralof, Ralof is looking at Ulfric, Ulfic is looking at Lokir, we all look at each other. It's a group project on a Zoom call where no one knows anyone else and no one wants to take the lead.
There's so much opportunity for game designers to implement this in games when you skip dialogue. Like little jabs at the player when they click skip, extra NPC dialogue you'd never hear any other way. I of course skip dialogue a ton in games, so I'd laugh my ass off if an NPC broke the 4th wall to call it out lol.
And then glare at the screen as it loads directly after accepting the debt because the auto-save was on and you didn't see the icon that blends into the sky in the top of the screen.
I have definitely spent more time figuring out what I was supposed to do than I saved skipping dialogue in certain games but sometimes I just wanna play lol
I mean true...but they aren't supposed to know...,.... I love you but I can't hear the same dialogue for my 50th playthrough.....just jump into my bed and let's keep going with the adventure
This reminds me of Hades when I kept skipping past Hermes’ dialogue (ironically I read it faster than he said it), and there was an option for him to stop talking because he felt self-conscious 😅 I felt bad, so I said no. I dunno how many times I skipped for me to trigger that 🤣
The cricket one reminds me of the side quest in Zelda botw where you find crickets for this guy to give to his crush who works at the inn in hateno. I don’t know if that’s what ur referencing but either way these videos are hilarious
This is why I love games that actually taunt you for skipping. Fractured But Whole comes to mind: if you try skipping the intro scene with Cartman's monologue, he keeps getting progressively more pissed until he just flat out boots you to the credits "since you love skipping important shit so much."

Then there's the games where you play it for 5 years thinking it doesn't let you skip dialogue then you click a button on accident that no-one would have guessed skipped things
