Sad to see that some people have no better time than to speculate on what your business is doing financially rather than use the information you provided for us to make our decisions about what we buy. I watch as much content from a bunch of reviewers who have different opinions on the same knife but it helps me in my decisions about buying them. I don't care if you get a commission from the sales or if you get knives free from the manufacturer

That’s the point about people like M_C they love knives past any sensible person can justify, like Neeve is just sharpening bonkers and choil! I’m sure by now you’ve dug out the Vortex you broke and compared it to the ones you just received. The lock relief cutouts are different. The original version had four smaller cutouts. But they weren’t square cutouts either. They do have a sharper radius than the new single cutout though. Whether or not it’s not as likely to break I don’t know. But a tip of the hat to Maxace for seeing a concern and making a change. It shows a genuine concern that they want a quality product in people’s hands.
@metal_complex I think that in addition to having one large curved cut vice four smaller sharper ones, I think the biggest difference is that the cutout is on the outside of the lockbar rather than the inside. This puts the force back along the lockbar (directly from where it contacts the blade) down a solid piece of metal rather than where the cuts are which could cause extra bending force on the lockbar. You mentioned Sergio said something similar when discussing the relief cut on your Excalibur, that there were reasons to have the relief cut on the outside rather than the inside of the frame.
I would love to have one but do t know that I would use it. Just for conversation. Waiting for that one wackadoo and his buddies from Reddit to show up. Lol That Perseus is pretty sick though. I haven’t gotten magnucut yet.
Of course a knife that is being abused, mis-handled, whatever, is going to fail. But, if a reviewer beats on a knife, until it fails, it let's you know how tough that knife is, and gives the makers ideas on improvements. It's a good thing.
Vortex looks like a good fill-in machete for my field inspection kit. Chopping some weed and corn stalk should be in its wheel house. Why? Because i like the look and don't want to get a real machete. Plus, it'll drive the boys crazy.
Looks like great drawing knifes… just saying. I really like the looks and build! Agreed not indestructible but tough enough for practical heavy use. Give them away mc… give them away…. These are not the knifes you are looking for.

The funny thing is, he probably could have reached out for a collab or friendly discussion and had no issues. That's how you get blacklisted in this community. He's learning that now.

The pin is a secondary lock. To get close to no blade play, you'd have to force the pin.
They added a radius to help distribute the stress load. My humble opinion, or they did stress analysis and adjusted to where it’ll be more robust.
