    Man,
    I just got the best shotgun of my life! ( so far)🤣 I’m really loving clay shooting but am struggling to get better as I’m not shooting more than once a week and definitely have some bad habits that I have engrained myself with. I very much enjoy these videos and appreciate the clear instruction. I have to say I came to a very real crossroad this week when I went to shoot at the range when the best shooter at our club was telling another shooter a short distance off how beautiful my gun was but it’s too bad that I can’t shoot it. For a moment I was devastated but had to reconcile that he was right to a good degree and that I just don’t put in the time like he has over the years. To his defense he didn’t think I was within hearing range and I doubt he would ever say that to me as he is a good and helpful guy. So I just want to end this on how important these videos are to me and maybe to many others and to again thank you both for this as I want to improve and be the best I can be with what time I have to spend learning and shooting in this sport. Just being completely honest.
    Regards 👍

      If it’s any consolation, I’m a relatively new trap shooter as well (15 months). It took me at least 2000 shells thru before things started to come naturally. Now no matter the day, I’m around 92-96/100 targets from the 16 yard line, 90-92/100 from the 21. Hang in there, it’ll come!

    The point about skeet guns used to shoot like 50/50 and now they're like 70/30 was surprising. All of my books are old i guess.

  • @AAAskeet
    @AAAskeet 10 місяців тому +1

    Yes the trend in skeet is about 70/30 and was an average raiser for my game.

    If I wanted to raise the POI of my shotgun is it just as simple as raising the adjustable comb and not worrying about not seeing a figure 8 with my beads since I would now see a lot more rib?

    • @GoShooting
      @GoShooting  3 роки тому +1

      Yes that will do it every time.

    I am left eye dominant right-handed and I always want to close one eye but I was told you're not supposed to I've tried both ways not sure which is better

    • @GoShooting
      @GoShooting  Рік тому +1

      You will either have to close tour left eye or cover it with a patch on your shooting glasses) or learn to shoot from the left shoulder then you can keep both eyes open.

  • @BeatRock253
    @BeatRock253 3 роки тому +3

    When aiming at a patterning board should I close one eye to "aim" at the point of aim, or keep both eyes open and have the bead blurry like normal? Thanks in advance!

    • @GoShooting
      @GoShooting  3 роки тому +4

      Its a good question Grant. First of all you must ensure you mount the gun to your shoulder at the pattern board in exactly the same manner you mount it at the firing line. Once you have achieved that you need to aim the barrel, like a rifle, at the pattern board. If you need to do this with one eye closed then that is fine. The end of the barrel must remain steady when pulling the trigger.

      Great question 👍🏻

  • @gedenirfiorese3523
    @gedenirfiorese3523 2 роки тому +1

    Does the trap point of aim shoots higher because the high rib on top (therefore you point higher) or because every trap gun shoots higher than where you’re pointing?
    Thanks!

    • @GoShooting
      @GoShooting  2 роки тому +1

      It’s beneficial to have a higher point of impact for trap due to the consistent rising targets in this discipline

    So what distance is this pattern reference "calculated" at? I would assume that a trap gun that shoots, lets say 70/30 from the a break point of 30 yards would be considerably higher if shooting targets at 50 yards?

    • @GoShooting
      @GoShooting  2 місяці тому

      No. The percentage above/below stays the same the same at all distances until gravity sets in. Try 20 metres. The percentage will be the same at 10 metres or 30 metres

  • @andym.9465
    @andym.9465 3 роки тому +1

    Thx, one question. Is it possible to adjust the pattern or is it fixed and depends on the Gun.?

    • @GoShooting
      @GoShooting  3 роки тому +1

      Chokes and ammunition will alter the size of the pattern which can make comparisons on the Point of Aim percentages dangerous, but Point of Impact is not altered by these factors.
