Check your point of impact...Roger Pace ...The Ancient Shotgunner

In this video we look at how to check your point of impact...or...does your gun shoot where you look? It is good to do this every few months to reassure ourselves that our point of impact is,indeed, where we look. You will see that my POI was to the left. You will see where my pattern is and I then moved my stock 2mm to the right and that put the pattern right on centre.. Hope you enjoy the video and find it informative and useful. Different people advocate different ways of doing it...but I believe this is the best method to truly check if your gun shoots where you look. Roger! You nailed it! The pattern board tells you nothing if you aim like a rifle. The whole idea is to get the gun to shoot where you are looking, and as you have repeated many times, we should be looking at the target and nothing else.

So if I hear you well, with the wind noise, to shoot higher we elevate the comb and, to shoot lower, we lower it. Is that right ?

Excellent advise. What brand of ear protection do you use?

They put a cotton wad in your ears...then they inject a silicon into the ears...when dry they pull it out...polish and seal it... and they are the perfect shape of your ears. Thanks for watching and stay well !!!

Thanks Roger. Out of interest, what did the beads look like when you looked down the gun? If it's shooting to one side they must have been slightly out of line yeah? Also how much gap (if any) do you see between your beads height wise?

Mark i only looked at the target...all 4 shots were to the left...so at least it was consistent...my mid bead covers half of the front bead ...the POI could be lower...but that is as low as the stock will go

The common belief is that it is better to shoot higher because the clays are rising...I would prefer my POI to be a bit lower but that is as low as the stock will go !!!
