    Can you do a preinfusion longer than 5s on the Baby T?

    We have both a Prima and a 2 group E1, one in the cafe one for our mobile setup and neither of them buzz during giving hot water, granted in the 2 group it works differently. Both machines can deliver cold water to the grouphead and the heat exchangers should only serve to preheat the water to the delivered to the preboiler and the heads. The Ascaso has similar preheating taking place. I have had no issues with having to purge. As you have said the VA has a longer initial brewing time because it gradually ramps up the pressure, giving you something in between a preinfusion and no infusion, though I think the impact is minimal. Manual steaming on the E1 is stellar though, default pressure is 2.2 bar but it can be increased to 2.5 I think which can be great for larger pitchers and faster heating, I use it on 2 bars though because I can get better texture. The electronically controlled valves are really nice once you get used to the way they are actuated with the switches under the rocker paddle.

    I have not herd good things about the E1 Prima in terms or reliability, does this still hold true today ? To spend this much and hear about boiler leaks, battery failure, blown fuse, and more I am hesitant. I love the looks of the E1 Prima but for the price I just expected more reliability. Maybe this is just me being naive, I am newer to this level of machine.

    Any idea why my baby t plus didn’t come with a switch to turn on/off the cup warmer?

      This description of the Baby T is noted on most websites where it's sold.
      "Please note that in order to meet ETL power spec requirements, this machine does not include a cup warmer."

    I thought the U.S. version of the Ascaso didn't include the cup warmer feature?

    Great review! How long does it take for the steam boiler to heat up on the Baby T?

      I’ve had the Baby T for a bit now. The steam boiler takes about 15 mins to come up to full temp for me. I’ve raised the temperature to get to 1.5 bars of pressure

    Both are an acquired taste, from the home barista and prosumer point of view. Add the flow profiling and the pump pressure gauge dial on the VA Prima, and you'll have the winner in this category and price range. It took Nuova Simonelli and Victoria Arduino good 2 years to fix and rectify all of the "premature birth" issues and faults on the VA Prima 1, it feels like this is finally a solid and stable product with extra features we've been asking for added in the latest few versions of the firmware. VA Prima is IMO a prosumer machine with great future, let's hope VA doesn't stuff that up in the coming months and years.

      Agree, this Prima One is positioned to take over this part of the market, slotted somewhere in between LMLM and LM GS3 and solves that 'void' in between the two, both function and price wise. It worries me though a little that there are still some issues and faults we all thought were thing of the past for Prima One, but they still seems to be popping up more often than most of us feel comfortable with. Prima One is part of the Victoria's commercial line, the line where a barista is expect to have pretty much run-and-go type expectations, but not to have to fiddle and waste time with faults that shouldn't be there for a commercial grade machine.

    Which is better for a small café? Or a linea mini?

      In my experience, linea mini and spaziale lack the necessary space to be comfortable in a commercial setting. By availability of parts I would choose Victoria Arduino which also looks to be more comfortable to work with.

    Eagle prima one is dual boiler isn’t it ?

    • @mtorres184
      @mtorres184 2 роки тому

      Yes it is I’m not sure why the cooling flush was done, Heat Exchangers are a function usually seen on single boilers.
      Can you confirm this @seattlecoffeegear

    • @drazenbabich
      @drazenbabich Рік тому

      Yes but you need to read up on T3 tech to give you a bit of an understanding on how this "dual boiler" is used in VA Prima and Eagle machines, specifically. It is and it "isn't" a dual boiler if you get my grip.

    • @drazenbabich
      @drazenbabich Рік тому

      Cooling flush and/or auto purge aren't linked and reserved to HX machines or single boiler machines only, even the commercial machines with saturated heads do them.

    When you have a comparison of something vs something shouldn’t there be a winner??!! Good lord. I felt like I’d had a fistful of Oxy’s watching this… get someone with a personality, a funny accent (I remember those days), so much better . I’m sure that fellow is a superb guy, knowledgeable, maybe funny. He is not an on camera presence. Gail was excellent. She was watchable. Since Gail stepped back, your videos have gone downhill. The long haired guy for Clive is an absolute narcotic. Whollattelove’s guy is pretty good. So it’s possible! Maybe the New James Hoffman is lurking somewhere in Seattle’s coffee community. Get him. Good luck.
