There were a lot of unanswered questions about this product online as an Android Phone user, especially one with an iPad. So I hope you appreciate my tests to get to the bottom of what functions we can use.

Great video. I have an Android and bought this to track luggage while in Japan and same thing happened, I couldn't track luggage when it was not within range. I didn't have an iPad with me. Waste of money.
Very helpful and entertaining. It was also frustrating because in this video I learned that, ultimately, you still need an IOS device to actually get "precision" accuracy. Since I don't use IOS devices, this is essentially a Tile. So, fantastic and informative video with sad news that I couldn't find anywhere else. Well done!
Yeah it's a shame, so it's only Apple devices which give global tracking. Android will only give you Bluetooth range tracking, that's hot and cold. AirTags are the only precision finding capable device because of their U1 chips.
Glad I helped you out as that's why I bought it, as being an Android phone user it was pretty confusing what features are compatible.
Samsung smart tags+ should solve this
It's still better than tile as it gives you the option of smart alert(left behind alert) without buying the premium tile subscription. For tile users the smart alerts are behind a paywall.
Believe it or not there are many places in the world where you're very unlikely to come across an iPhone. There are even places in the world where you're very unlikely to come across McDonald's or a shop selling coca cola

Wow! This was an amazing video! Very well explained. I just got one of these today (here in the US). I originally had connected it to my wife's iPhone, but your video has taught me I can connect to my Samsung phone as well! Very nice!

I've been undecided what brand tracker to use for my escape artist dog because most reviews are based in big American cities and I dont think they'd be as effective here. But you've sold me on this.
Bendigo 🤙 oh if you're android hold off like a couple weeks, google are about to release their find my network and there's a huge amount of new tags ready to launch which will use nearby android phones for GPS updates, much better!

Does Eufy have location histroy function? If yes how many days?
Also can i share the Eufy tag with other users? if yes is it via the app?
Does it alarm sounds if it was left for 8-24 hours? (Apple airtag does)

FYI in about a month Google will finally be releasing their AirTag version on their own Android FindMy network.
Not this is going to be game changing, I've already got a tracker on pre-order, so will have a video up with testing asap when it gets here
@@camshandI got two of these eufy tags for just 26 pounds on a sale here in the UK! I have been delighted with their great performance, as good as my girlfriend's airtags.
Thanks for letting me know about the Gtags, I'll also get a couple of them if they're affordable. It makes a lot of sense to tap into both worlds together. I'm pretty sure an experienced thief would quickly find a way to steal my stuff regardless of whether I have them or not, but it gives me a great amount of peace in my mind just knowing the fact that I have them just in case, a rookie thief gets hold of my stuff. 🤞

I bought one. It didn’t work, didn’t make any beep. Got one sent for free from Anker. This one was able to get connected to the eufy app, but failed to get connected to Apple find me. Anker support is not very helpful, does anyone know how to reset this tracker?

Great review, and thanks for clarifying the Android expectations! I'm trying to move away from Apple AirTags as I moved to Android. Seems I may have to wait for the new Samsung tags later in 2023 and/or Google's global location for tags on Android. Very interesting note that someone stealing your tag, won't be notified it is "following" them in the first 24 hours - I always wondered about that.
Yeah at this point best to wait for the new Google Tags, they've been delayed until Apple adds "following" support for them, which is a luxury that wasn't offered in the reverse, either way it's safer move for the world.

24 hours I suspect would make stalkers desperate to get the tag back given Apple would likely be able to identify them from network enrolment. Could lead to a more dangerous situation. Anyway, hoping these are more suitable for theft when released on Android as not so closed shop.
@@camshand Reminds me of my robot vacuum - great remote video option that I can check on the dog or watch inside of house if alarm triggered, but every few minutes, "Live video in operation" blares out, completely alerting any thief or stressing a dog that finally relaxed.

What are the minimum requirements for using this tracker on IOS?
So if you are an iOS user exclusively are these a better buy than an AirTag? AirTag cost just kills me. Plus you need to buy separate equipment, at least these have a key ring hole
These don't have the U1 chip that allows for compass like tracking when in range like on AirTags with an iPhone.
If that doesn't matter to you and you just need the GPS based tracking then this is better if cheaper 👍

First shot with the phone on stand, leave rolling for about 10 seconds once captured what's needed. Then don't touch the camera, leave the same shot rolling, lift the phone stand out of shot and drop bag. In this case I also put the phone into the bag to add to the magic before dropping it.
In video editing cut the gap between phone on stand end and bag drop then layer mask the bag dropping over the phone on stand. With the masking something like a bag with a straight edges side makes it a lot easier since it's a frame by frame process.
Does this also work in little villages? Where there aren't so many People with a Phone?

Like a case for a bike? Haven't seen many made for non air tags.
I was going to 3D model and make my own but decided not too.
However, Google is due to release their own tracking tag which is going to no doubt have a tonne of 3rd part accessories made, and be way more useful with global android tracking! so keep an eye out for that 👀
I mean like a rubber casing that you put on the eufy tracker to prevent damages and scratches from it being dropping. I know you can get one for a Samsung smart tags and for the air tags in Ali express, but i couldn't find any.
Are you saying that you can add an NFC tag to the Smart Tracker and it will allow more precision like an Apple AirTag in finding your lost item?
No NFC won't change the precision finding feature. Precision finding is only possible from a U1 chip that apple makes and has in the AirTags.
NFC sticker allows you to add a "tap to show contact" feature which AirTags have. The SmartTrack Link has a QR code for allowing people to find your return details when marked lost.
Can i get the history of the locations of the eufy?
Great Video. But i have an issue. When i only have my Android and the tracker with me the stalking warning will be sent to my friends. Did i done Something wrong? Cheers
Oh interesting, when I went on a multi day trip away from my iPad it didn't make an alert, presumably because my phone was with it. I wonder if that's now changed? I have mine on my bike so haven't had any issues being around people

Can I set it up or track it from the MacOS Find My app? Even if it only allows tracking like air tags it would be useful because I could borrow and ios device to set it up and use my MacBook for tracking when lost
Ooooh interesting, I don't have a macbook with my FindMy account set up, from my knowledge only iOS or iPad OS devices have the ability to track AirTag units. If MacBooks can track AirTags then sure it could, I'm just not aware of if that's possible.
@@camshand I can track my AirTags on my Macbook, but it's very limited. So in theory this should also work, I'll give it a try.
Or just put some tape on it to keep the battery door shut
Blue Tooth trackers are terrible because once you're out of range it's useless.

No its not, Apple Find My is only with an Apple device. I believe this is why their Amazon listing has change to have iOS ONLY as there's possibly been a lot of confusion.

the risk is the battery, if the back pops off then the battery easily falls out
So the android version of the app is essentially useless, removing the real time tracking ability of the iPhone version
Yeah the Android only shows where your phone was last connected. Good news for Android though is that I've read Google is set to release their own tag that will work just like an AirTag but with every android phone in the world 😍really excited for that!

Yeah less features than a tile tracker if you don't have an iPhone or iPad around.
Many android phone users I know have an iPad around at home so this can be a perfect usecase there.
As for the beeps... I'm unsure why you'd be getting them twice daily. If you've setup Apple FindMy and marked as lost it may beep when moved like an AirTag, but given your initial statement I'm going to guess you haven't done that.

And I can't really afford to buy an iPad just to use Find My. It's also annoying to have to carry around because one of the most important use cases for me is to track luggage when travelling abroad.

How do I add it to a MacBook?
Hmm unsure if you can pair brand new FindMy devices to a MacBook. My understanding is Apple generates the encryption keys for device location using the app on iOS or iPad OS devices. Latest MacBooks maybe but I believe you need to use a phone or iPad for initial setup then can view location from mac

There is news that Google will release their own tracker tag this year, which will update location based on nearby Android Phones! I'm super excited to see that come out 😃 And ahhh, can't really change that one mate haha, if anything I'd say my accent is lighter than many Aussies I know haha
