    Of all these years watching videos on UA-cam, I have never seen a review as complete as this one!

    WOW. That was the most professionally done review of any Gear I've seen for a long time. Complete, no useless babling, packged with information, clear measurements, great illustrations, from start to finish all aspects thought carefully. No stones left unturned. I can only imagine all the editing work, time and effort that were put to it. Thank you!

    Alright, as an Electrical Engineer by grad level training and a couple of decades of experiences, I can tell that the testing regime is adequate for industrial purchase contracts (except for some of those converters, which are not used). In other words, for a consumer grade review this is of excellent caliber and quality. The checklist is extensive and granular. Great Show!

    A first-timer on your channel... and enjoyed every minute of it. Great job... with accuracy, good preparation, lots of angles to allow best view of all operations, actual informations and measurements (instead of speculations), introduction then test synthesis.

    You convinced me! I’m going to buy it! 36:29 What you did by using 2 receivers for the same signal means that you can extend the strength of the signal by placing one receiver 60 meters from the other and you would have 120 meters of safe area to move around without signal failures; 60 meters from the radius of the 1st receiver and 60 meters from the radius of the 2nd receiver. Haven’t you thought about doing that test to see if it works? I would do the experiment by placing a 60m cable in one of the console’s channels and connecting the second receiver to that cable, while I would connect the first receiver to another channel of that same console.

    This is one of the best videos on gear I have ever seen and I have watched plenty . Congratulations on your professionalism and a truly outstanding piece of work . so thorough and informative. I use the X vive on guitar very happily but sadly I will now be wary of combining it with the mic system. I hope they get the interference problems sorted out soon one day..I hate cables!!

    Fast forward 3 years, and hi there! I have considered this device, but just ordered a similar device from CARVIN AUDIO, THE WM5. It is on sale for $159 plus shipping at this time. Can't wait to test it out, particularly if it generates more feedback than a wired microphone. I'll be using my Shure SM58 with it. The Xvive U3 sells for $199 on Amazon. Most comments have been good.

    This was a GREAT REVIEW. I'm glad it's still here. I'm thinking about getting this system for a mic on a stand. why? Because I use vintage amps and get shocked when I touch the mic. Now that won't happen (almost) ever anymore. I won't "touch" the PA. I'll plug the receiver in to the cable the sound man wants to plug into the mic. I like the idea of using it with a camera. I hope that was successful for Max. That distance test was AWESOME. ===== OH Wow. It's expensive to be a musician in Russia. Solidarity with my guitar and musician friends and fam in Russia. Some great players and gear makers there.

    Cucumber of Wisdom: What a great review. This has got to be the most thorough and comprehensive reviews I've seen anywhere. Thank you, you did great job and I think we're all appreciative. It was long but no fluff and packed with information. Again, thank you. I too am trying to decide between this and the new Nux B-3 but the battery life and the line control I think has me sold on this .... I really want to be able to use this with a 3.5mm Lavalier ..... any thoughts on how I may be able to adapt to get that accomplished.

    • @MaxSoloMusic
      @MaxSoloMusic  5 років тому

      Hey. I haven't tried that yet. Not on stage at least. But it should work. As long as the signal from the mixer is strong enough there shouldn't be much noise. Cucumber of wisdom is just another weird phrase at the end of my video. It doesn't really mean anything, although i usually try to describe the product with it.

    Great review mate , But i think you may have missed a few potential issues that I watched for and didn't see. Having done many gigs and seen bad stuff happen ( like an amp going to dead short full power at 50hz, , the phantom power trap, (which you covered) , and disconnects under load. I always look at such devices to see where it could go wrong. The issue of all those buttons being available on the mic, and then handing it to a random person say at a wedding for a speech . They then have gain, power and channel control, at their fingertips. What could happen ? Even for a pro singer at a gig they could be knocked, What is the work around for that scenario? At worst, the gain gets flicked up and the PA feeds back , Thats really bad. or it just doesn't work due to channels not coinciding.(not so bad) Also how tough to knocks/water is it.
    I'm keen on the unit though and your review was stunningly technical and I applaud you for your knowledge and completeness. Thanks😀 !

    Man you went above and beyond for this review... thank you :-) What's your opinion on the noise floor of the xvive u3 vs a wired connection? I just got a nux b-3 and the noise floor is pretty bad. Just wondering if the xvive u3 would be any better.

    • @MaxSoloMusic
      @MaxSoloMusic  5 років тому +3

      Thanks. I can imagine that b-3 and u3 are very similar units which probably have very similar specs. U3's signal to noise ratio is actually good, as long as the signal level is high enough the noise shouldn't be a problem

    • @paulgarcia983
      @paulgarcia983 5 років тому

      @@MaxSoloMusic Hello, I am also deciding on which to buy between the two (nux b3 or xvive u3). The main difference I notice in specs between the two is the sound resolution. Nux b3 has 32 bit and xvive u3 has 24 bit. Which would you say is best for vocals (live not for recording)? Thank you

    • @HowardOlsen
      @HowardOlsen 5 років тому

      @@paulgarcia983 I'm also trying to decide between the two. Nux is less $$ but I've seen twice now a stress test on the battery that takes it to 9+ hours and the Xvive has a line input control so for the diff in $ I think it'll be the U3....

    Thank you for your amazing review! You answered 99.8% of my questions. What I didn't figure out is if there are strong WiFi routers around, would they interrupt the signal of the U3s.
    I am trying to figure out whether as a beginner mobile DJ I should invest in the U3 or in a wireless mic system. I am not sure which will be more stable in different venues. I am tempted by the U3 for the lower price, connectivity with different mics and the ability to turn one of my active speakers into a (signal) wireless one for coctail hours and wedding ceremonies.
    So I would be very grateful if you could address this too.

      Hey. I'm running two mics with U3 every weekend for the last couple of months at different gigs. There were over 1000 people at the last one, many with mobile phones taking pics etc. Additionally to that we have a digital mixer with a Wi-Fi access point and I'm using Relay G70, the older one before the "fix", which is known to be very unfriendly to other 2.4 GHz signals. We had no problems on stage so far playing 5-6 hour gigs without a single dropout. There's a trick though. To minimize the distance between transmitters and receivers and also to have a backup plan, I'm not plugging receivers directly into the mixer. Instead, those are connected to XLR cables right next to each singer's mic stands. In case something goes wrong, they can switch over to a cable at any time. And the distance is never more than 3-5 meters.
