You are a Godsend bro! As a mobile DJ I am going to order me a few of these to take to events with me. Tangling and untangling cords along with the trip hazards they present, these will pay for themselves in gaffer tape in no time. So glad i found this video! This will give me a much cleaner look to the whole show. Seriously, I hope you make a commission off me buying these!
Yes---plugging it into a mixer only 3-4 feet high with bodies, etc in the way will cause drop outs. Great for a mic and plugged into a speaker --- but thats about it
Purchased two sets they day they were released and love them. All that was stated in video I agree with. I originally purchased the Xvive unit for dynamic mics which they are incredible using on the mics, But the icing was using them on my QSC's K12.2 & K8.2. I highly recommend this item. About to purchase another unit as well.
I'm curious about any draw backs. I'm not convinced these are worth the money. One major issue that wasn't mentioned is signal drop. As a DJ we can't have it happen or we look really bad. Also, battery life. He never mentions the duration in hours or minutes and is the battery replaceable? Rechargeable batteries have a life expectancy so once it's been recharged a few hundred times will it start losing its charge capacity? I'd like to see replaceable batteries so you could have more than one charged in case you forget to charge it before you use it. He mentioned keeping it plugged in for power but if you wanted to keep it plugged in for power in case you forget to charge it your defeating the purpose of it being battery powered and you'd have to run a power cable to each one. That would mean you may as well run a regular cable to the device or speaker instead. I'm not convinced these are good to rely on for speakers. For mics, yes but not speakers. I wouldn't risk using these during a wedding ceremony and have the chance of it dropping the signal or the battery dying.
I love wireless gear. Makes the stage setup so much nicer and easier to setup etc. I don’t however like spending hours everyday recharging that wireless gear inbetween gigs 🤦♂️
Would the one transmitter connect to another receiver I guess is what you're asking? I purchased 2 sets to be sure. What if you have 3 or 4 receivers, would the one transmitter be enough?
Be cautious I just bought two sets that were a different brand but they were 5.8ghz instead of 2.4ghz which I believe the xvives are 2.4ghz and 5.8ghz has supposedly less interference. Now granted I had this hooked up in my house near my WiFi router so that could have caused the interference, I’m hoping that’s the case and maybe they’ll work better in another location but the interference was terrible. I switched back to a direct cable and my speakers sounded amazing. So be mindful of interference possibilities.
One of these days, you should make a clip on What is the best way to have a clear, professional sound input to a DSLR or better, action cameras, specific for Video Bloggers that is a very important yet mostly neglected topic on YT. Most cameras don't have Audio input but recently manufactures realizing this, are making better options available so next question would be how to handle this and make the clear vocal audio on a clip to have the best performance. I know many are trying separate sound record and add on later through post processing but that is not the right way to go. Anyways, thanks for your good clips, adding to general knowledge, beside naming the products.
Good review and explanation, however, I would have turned the lavalier off while connecting the dynamic mic to the mixer since the slight delay of the cordless mixed with the lav made it sound a bit wierd
Rane is great. We had the full set here for a show and WOW! also look at the DENON DJ SC5000 or SC5000M To Me the new BenchMark. And thill the end of the year you get the mixer for free with the purchase of two SC5000M
Can I use this device to get an xlr main out from the sound board to mt camera xlr input as a line input and also how far can I put my camera away from the sound board? I do live streaming also may I know how is the quality of the output? Thank you very much. Very good review..
I've got the Xvive U2 with 1/4" jack instead of XLR. Made essentially for cordless guitar operation, but I use it with my harmonica mic and works very well with it.
Thanks for your review. Does these interfere with each other? Also if 4 of these are used together 2 for mics and 2 for speakers is there latency issues? Would appreciate your reply. Thanks again
good afternoon. Can you please tell me whether these transmitters will work when connected to a subwoofer and a speaker and the bluetooth music signal is supplied directly to the receiver?
I just checked and they just fit side by side on the Alto, Soundcraft and Mackie mixers we also have the NUX B3 and they are smaller and do the same thing.
I see that you plugged a transmitter into a controller, but you only plugged in one.... the body of the transmitter looks kind of bulky.... will two transmitters actually fit side by side?
Great video. I am currently looking at purchasing the Alto stealth wireless system for wirelessly hooking up 2 speakers to my mixer. Will have to weigh them up together and see what is the best. Do you have any knowledge or preferences which works out best?
We sell the stealth if your just looking for wireless speaker ot is a better option for longer range. If you like or need they option of making microphones wireless thats the u3 comes in.
Question can you buy one transmitter to send the signal from you mixing board to 2 receivers plugged into two different speakers. If so, is there a limit to the number of receivers/speakers one transmitter can send to? For example could one receiver send to 4 speakers? Would adding more receivers drain the power fasted or limit the range?
Can I send two transmitters to just one receiver? For example, sending two microphones with two transmitters to one PA speaker that has one receiver connected.
Hi. how does this system work with the subwoofer? The subwoofer would be connected to the mixer. Would the transmitter be connected to the line-out from the subwoofer and the receiver connects to the line-in of the main? Thank you for your presentation it is very helpful.
that's a good question, it really is 6 of one or half dozen of the other. both ways work but you have to look at what is going to save you time or cable runs. this is all about making it easier, cleaner and faster for your setups.
Can’t seem to find a straight solid answer on this question. Can I use one transmitter with two receivers? I want to use 4 speakers for my larger events, and two speakers being wireless via this unit but I don’t want to buy two sets, wondering if I can just get an extra Reciver and have two receivers work with one transmitter? Thanks for any answers n help in advance.
For sure, just put the one Transmitter say on (ch 2) then put as many receivers you want on (ch 2). Just like 1000 people listening to the same radio station in their car, 1 transmitter - 1000 receivers. Hope this Helps
What's the distance, 50 feet line of site? Also would people with bluetooth on their cell phones interfere with the connection of a speaker and to a mixer?
I know this is an old thread but can you get mic vocals from a wired mic that you plugged into the mixer through the speakers that are running off the xvive?
Hello, if I'm The Xvive U3 to run line 1 transmitter from my mixer and 2 receivers (1 one each speaker), does that mean the sound would be mono, since both receivers would have to be on the same channel?
Out of my controller I'll run my XLR cables to FOH speakers, then am I able to connect the Xvive transmitter from speaker thru output and into the input of my cocktail hour speaker? Or does the transmitter have to be plugged into the controller? (I'm trying to avoid having a small 4 channel mixer to send the signals)
Take my money already LoL 😂 I had a company I work with that had something like this. But it kept cutting out. It was not that far. It was so bad they turned off the speaker...
I personally don’t think you could use this product from a mixer or controller. The large square part of it will not allow another one to be plugged in next to it (L&R) so you would only be able to run 1 side not stereo.
Couple of questions! Can you try to use them as DMX master/slave transmiter/receiver? I would think they should work? Also, can you have 1 xlr transmitter and 2 receivers on the same channel? In other words, so I want to push 1 signal from the mixer left/right and receive that signal on multiple speaker inputs. Thanks as always for your videos! I enjoy them and they are helpful.
I have a Peavey PV10AT Audio mixer with bluetooth and i have bluetooth USB from my laptop s o ican connect the bluetooth from laptop to the bluetooth mode on the audio mixer and have 4 of those adaptors to plug them into the MAIN Top right Output plug things. S O i can get those adaptors, plug 2 of dem in the speakers and the mixer. Or the controller / DJ set that's not a controller. SO i'm thinkin of buying those adaptors! :D 2 MackieThump BST 15s and my Peavey PV10AT Mixer :3 I love the speakers and mixer! I Currently have 2 10 or 20 foot long XLR cables and 2 3 foot XLR cables. SO I'm thinking of getting those Wireless adaptors for a much easier and faster setup time with them too.
Also i have a Numark NVii DJ Controller and Yes i am a DJ. Been a DJ for like, 3 or 4 years now ( My first numark controller was the MixTrack PRO3 and then overtime i finally upgraded to the Numark NVii Controller. I've had the NVii for like A year now and the MixTrack PRO3 the whole time. So Yeah atleast A year and a half or so i got the NVii. I love the NVii more better than the MixTrack PRO3. SOON GONNA UPGRADE TO THE ' Denon DJ SC5000 Prime Series ' D Jsetup. ( Gonna be using 4 players and the middle mixer like alot of Pro's have it setup. NVii controller costed me 700 for it and the SC5000 prime series ina bundle to buy is about, 5,000nd or 6 or 7. ( USD for me )
Love the idea but not convinced it's worth the high cost just because it's "convenient". The batteries probably aren't replaceable, the signal drop could ruin an event and most of us who've worked in the entertainment industry don't want to rely on systems that could give us extra stress. You have to remember to charge them and if for some reason they do get damaged or lost or stolen, your out hundreds of dollars. Tried, tested, cost effective and reliable cabling is hard to beat. Especially, if you run more than one system. It really doesn't take much time to run a cable or two if you have half a clue. Yes, they could help in some situations like cocktail hour but relying on them for the main system, no way.
I will have to look into these, I recently upgraded to QSC equipment and can now justify spending the money on buying wireless systems.
With only a 5 ms delay that only works out to 5 ft of real world sound delay. that works out great for mixing music as a DJ.
you won't be disappointed with QSC stuff,...believe me. AWESOME sounding gear and built like a TANK! Best with it friend.. God Bless

did they work well?
They don’t work if they aren’t in line of sight. This is really important and it doesn’t get discussed
Thanks
Yes---plugging it into a mixer only 3-4 feet high with bodies, etc in the way will cause drop outs. Great for a mic and plugged into a speaker --- but thats about it

Have you tried using one transmitter with two Recivers for two speakers ?
I just bought the xvive. I haven’t opened it yet but I’ll be doing a review of it shortly. This video is great.

It is the same quality with cord xlr.
And what about the lifetime of this item

Here in 2024. Can I use it to connect 2 m32 mixers wirelessly ?
Imagine buying like 100 pairs and connecting an entire recording studio with these. Hardware compressors and all
Can I use to transmit sound from phone from the aux port....
You do great informational videos .thank you so much 👍☘️

Can they work on shotgun mics, hypercardio. Mix audio recorders
Is it possible to double the riceivers for use with multiple speakers?
Can you run a pair out of mixer for stereo
Awesome; so helps out with prep time; it's a godsend for sure...👍🏿
What is battery life expectancy ❓
Thanks, great information.I’m passing this on.
What do you mean by passing on? Like not buying them or BUYing them?

Question... Can you connect this device, with the microphone that you have in your shirt? Or is this possible?
I need the link to the mixer , the dj controller and the mixer mounting piece . Thank you

I’m telling my friends about this. It’s a cool idea. That’s what I mean buy passing it on.
Can u have 2 transceivers connected to a controller and then have 4 receivers connected to each speaker (4 speakers each in a corner of a room)?
good afternoon. Can you please tell me whether these transmitters will work when connected to a subwoofer and a speaker and the bluetooth music signal is supplied directly to the receiver?

I want to plug one connector into my mixer so that you can use it there

Hi Robin, are these still in use or is there a newer model?
What is the latency on this item? Do you recommend using it for your main speakers during a gig or just for cocktail hour , is latency a factor?
Please someone answer this
3 to 5 milliseconds, a blink of an eye are 100 milliseconds!! Practically no delay, no latency, I use them when need it!!

65 to 100ft based on the room, & Bluetooth will not interfere with the direct 2.4g signal it is designed in to the BT technology.

Cables is way easy to mix with quality😁
how many hours do you see it
Can This system work for lights as well? Thank you in advance! ✌😷
No I can't. Microphone and dmx are totally different signals and use different cables
As a dj, or any other usage, how is the delay? Compaired to cables?
5ms delay or if someone is 5 ft from you talking. 5ms about 5ft almost no delay great for a live DJ.
can i use 3 at the same time
That’s a useful gadget ✅

Is it possible to run this through a 1/4" adapter?
Yes you can.
we use Xvive U3 for microphone, seriously considering using them for PA... if you use 2 for L/R PA, do you need to set one different channel for each?
Yes You got it right.
thank you - will do it soon ;)

Use a xlr extender to plug into your mixer then it will fit. You can get 2 extenders for about $20 Not a problem' you get about 30yds of coverage
Does it give phantom power?
no it does not
U3C version does.
