i just want to thank you for posting this. Before I learned that you could learn exercises from UA-cam, I thought all there was to fitness was pull ups, pushups, crunches, and squats. I saw gymnasts doing more complicated things and I never thought I could ever do them. Even as a kid whenever I tried to do a handstand, I continued right over and landed on my back. Now, in just 1 year of exercising with youtube, I've learned a handstand from pigmie, the pistol squat from saturnomovement, fitnessfaq taught me the reverse Nordic (the full Nordic is maybe coming) and convinced me to buy gymnastic rings, and this channel taught me to do (so far) a 1 legged front lever. I just love all the different approaches you can get this way, and every approach seems to unlock something different.
That's great - UA-cam has really done great things for how we're able to find info and learn new skills. Really blows my mind how much faster people learn now than they did just ten years ago. Congrats on the progress - keep going!
I only recently started messing around with the gym rings at my gym. Hardly anyone ever uses them, so I'm immediately impressed with myself. And it feels so darn good to know that my core is strong enough to do some simple stuff with no strain whatsoever. Highly recommend them.
Dude! I felt the same excitement when you said "yet" as I did watching the portal scene from Endgame for the first time. Rings 1&2 = awesome AF! New Ring program on Praxis = 🤯
Just finished intégral strength on Wednesday so will work on this, can’t wait for the new rings program! Thanks for the great material and inspiration.
Like any training, depends on how you're training and recovering. Check the link in description and it'll take you to some resources we have on training with rings.
What's the theory behind doing pushing before pulling? In my non-ring work outs, I always do the opposite. Since I always start with pullups (hardest) and finish with pushups (easiest).
I'll change the order depending on what the focus is that day. Some days the pulling move will be more difficult so it'll be first. Or I might want to finish with a pull based on the L3 combo, like this session where inverted rows are last. Reason is that the harder moves in this case are above the rings and safer to do those when fresh. Save the below the rings moves for last. Lots of different protocols one can explore.
Great video! I have a question: I just got my rings today and I can't even get into top position, it's too hard! Are there any easier variants or ways to achieve top position?
I stared this a while back but found it manageable to do level 1 but difficult to move on after 6 months also my energy is always low, any good pre work out drink suggestions?
Drinks aren't going to fix this. You need better sleep, an appropriate workload, and good food. If you have those things dialed in and still feel lethargic around workouts, you should see a doctor. Pre-workout is basically just caffeine with some extras. It can't solve a fundamental energy balance problem.
@@gmbfit i eat well and sleep very well, but some days after work you just lack more energy to get as much out of a work out as you want. I had bloods done and they couldnt find any issues
@@leejohnson197733 Eating and sleeping well are big so good on ya for having that in check. Sometimes it's just a matter of body adapting to doing more moving around.
@@gmbfit yes thanks for the tips, i did a ring work out the other day and seem to now have sciatica pain which has not happen before and i always warm up plenty

Haha! Right on. :)
Rings program making a comeback - yeah baby! Love your work Ryan, and all of GMB of course.
yes! i was missing your ring workouts! thanks
Good stuff, Ryan!👊
Thanks dude!
Thank you for this video. Really helped
Oooh boy! This looks good. Thanks for making this and excited to see what's coming.
Sure - always glad to share
This was exactly what I needed to see, I'm ready for these just now.
Right on! Give it a try and let me know how it goes for you :)
Nice! Got your R1 & R2 courses back in the day so excited to see what you guys come up with!
We're excited too. :)
So good.
Nice one👍
great timing! just got nice enough outside for me to throw my rings up
Awesome guidance and ring movement. Great job as always.
Thanks! Hope it's helpful for you :)
This is magic!
As long as you put in the work. 😉😁
Just finished intégral strength on Wednesday so will work on this, can’t wait for the new rings program! Thanks for the great material and inspiration.
Cheers!
Thanks for this Ryan. Making it look easy yet again ;)
To the extent it ever really gets easy, it's all just built on spending a ton of time on the basics.
Excellent! Thanks so much for this!
Great to hear, that there will be a ring program again :D
There won't be a ring program :)
@@gmbfit Oh ... mmmh ... you implement rings in Integral Strenth? There will be an advanced program? :)
Iron core Ryan 🤩🤩🤩 thanks for sharing these protocols 🙏 excellent contents and perfect explanations ☀️☀️☀️
Thank you!
Looking forward to trying them. Going for level 2 and 3
Cool - just start where you're at and work up over time.
Great explanation. I wish you do more video (I found only 3) about rings. All the best 👍
There's just a few more ;) ua-cam.com/play/PL71BA5E14DF5FD754.html
Awesome vid. I get injured sometimes bcuz lack of warmup. Super helpful. You got a new subscriber. 👍
Awesome
Wonderful, coming late to the party but any news on the program ??
Thanks for the video. How long can someone keep gaining strength on rings?
Like any training, depends on how you're training and recovering. Check the link in description and it'll take you to some resources we have on training with rings.
@@ryanchurst Thanks Ryan.
Awesome. What characteristics should we look for, when buying our first set of rings?
Reliability. Hundreds of reviews. This isn't the time to go cheap or try out something unproven. Buy from Rogue or Fringe or somebody like that.
Would you recommend this protocol over your rings 1 program?
yes
Any news on the release of new rings programs?
You mean the rings version of Integral Strength that came out last year? Or the muscle-up course that came out this summer?
Any update on the new rings program?
Yeah, it's built into Integral Strength as of a year ago.
Is it ok to do dip when legs are parallel to the ground ?
I'm going to follow this workout until the “not a program”- program will be released. 😉
🤘😁

I normally alternate between push and pull. Not sure if that's an effective strategy for rings. Thoughts?

Yes, top position is hard. We do have a very detailed tutorial right here on our YT channel though.

Well said.
I like how Ryan is getting older but stays mobile without and healthy losing strength.
We're all getting older. It's literally Ryan's job, but most of us can continue to improve our health much later into life than we think.
Seriously this stuff doesn’t cater to so many 🙄
Should everything cater to everyone?
It should cater to ring athletes who wish to learn something. This guy looks malnourished and is a beginner.
