    The Double Circle gymnastic rings and straps genius design solves a common problem seen with cam buckle ring straps.
    1. Removes all the guesswork out of making sure both rings are even heights
    2. Remove excess straps from getting in the way while you workout.
    =====
    Double Circle Gymnastic Rings
    =====
    The rings are made of quality wood and are 1.25" in thickness.
    You want to use wood instead of plastic so that you have a better grip
    =====
    Double Circle Gymnastic Ring Straps
    =====
    The gymnastic ring straps are 15 feet long and 1.5" wide, with metal carabiners are each end.
    They have reinforced numbered slots throughout their length.
    This system makes it easy so that you can just insert the carabiners at identical slots on both straps.
    Both rings will always be even and you never have to guess anything.
    Because both ends on the strap connect to the strap itself, you'll never have excess straps hanging.

    Eyeballing, aka putting the rings side by side and see if they match. Using your hands make this really simple (after some time you can get them level just by feeling on how much strap you need and how much you adjusted, minimum adjustment afterwards). You can always have "buckle" rings with measurements in the straps as well. These new ones wouldn't work great outside where you don't always have a parallel surface to hang these on, fine adjustments would be key.
    These criticisms aside all in all these seem really well made.

    That's great if your anchor point is a high bar in a gym which is perfectly level. If out in the woods using a tree limb that may be slightly out of perfect alignment, this set up is useless because with my current systems (3) I can slide the clamp up/down in order to micro-adjust the variance in level between the two sets of rings. --mike

    I thought this design would mean that you can't have the rings right up close to the bar, but the way to do that is to get the bar to go between the small loop that is around the ring. So there's just a single carabiner used in that case.

    • @Timpala44
      @Timpala44 Рік тому +1

      Where does the extra slack go then? The video shows the straps wrapped around the rings several times. I would think that would be time consuming and hinder the ability for the rings to twist.

    • @Siberius-
      @Siberius- Рік тому +1

      @@Timpala44 - Yea from memory his method was to pass the strap through the rings a thousand times. Rather time-consuming to set up and to adjust. When just having 1 loop and excess strap, it would just be treated like you're using a regular strap with a cam (toss it out of the way in some fashion, though not everyone is bothered by the strap presence). If it's a bit more of a permanent set-up, then one can roll/fold the straps up and then secure it with a rubber band in the middle of the roll-fold.
      When the rings up real close to the bar, the ring twistability is hindered either way, but yea less strap passed through is at least better in this regard for sure.

    I bought the Double Circle straps, and I don't like them. First, getting the level even between straps with cam buckles really isn't a problem. The Double Circle straps don't work well because 1) they are very difficult to use with unlevel supports and are almost impossible to get even, and 2) they can't be adjusted between very low and very high positions. The vertical adjustment range is only about 4 feet, and that is far too limiting. I ended up ordering good-quality cam buckle straps and am very happy with them. The DC straps just don't work well, and I suggest that they be avoided.

      You don’t have to wrap the strap all the way around unless you want it out of the way.
      Just clip the carabiner to the loop closest to the anchor point

    What if you don't tighten the lock screws in the carabiners? Let's say that you completely remove them. Let's say that the gate is then closed without the screw locking it. Is the carabiner still working properly? Screwing and unscrewing it is pretty annoying.

    In your video, you show the straps wrapped around the rings several times when they are set up high towards the bar. I would think that would be way more time consuming and hinder the ability for the rings to swivel. Is there a way to do it without doing that and having extra slack from the straps dangling?

    Interesting, simple design. But remember you're using twice as much strap material with this design. But on the plus side the carabiner is much lighter than a buckle. I'd say the best design for most, as often your support isn't exactly horizontal requiring slight adjustment to get even, is simply to use a wider strap/buckle (1.5" to 2"). A 1" is prone to slipping, especially if you're over about 150 lbs. What would be interesting though is not to use a buckle relying on a spring. Rather something like a quick release lever like is used to hold a bike wheel on the frame. I've never seen this used though. And to be able to disassemble it if you want to give the teeth a bit of sharpening because they will smooth out over time.

      Length of strap is *_shorter._* It's a much faster user friendly design but requires better quality control to ensure the sleeves/pockets are uniform - complaints on Amazon about uneven lengths which makes product useless.

    • @swilhelm3180
      @swilhelm3180 Рік тому +1

      @@alrocky Its hard to use a carabiner design outside as rarely is your support absolutely horizontal. Also its good to use uneven lengths sometimes and only with a buckle or knot can you get that exact. Really the buckle is the way to go. Then you can dial in the exact length you want. Then have the straps marked for easier reference. A carabiner design requires 2 straps stitched together. Twice as much strap material needed. Plus all that stitching. Its really just for indoor use.

      The retractable straps are fast and take up very little room but you still have to play around with them a bit to get them lined up exactly the same.

      @@ShreddedDad It all depends on if you're packing them around walking or on a bike (so weight/size is an issue) and if the horizontal support you're using is even. Many are not exactly even. I use soccer goal posts and they are often a bit off over time. The heavy ones probably settle into the ground over several years/decades. I use 17' straps and often find them too short for doing pushups/flies close to the ground if my support is a little higher than say a soccer goal post. But even then 17' is barely long enough yet most sold today are using 15' straps. Also remember that if your horizontal support is large its going to take up a lot more strap length going over it. One place that is often good for hanging rings that few people would think of is under small bridges which often have a metal framework. Often the ground gradually slopes away from the bridge so you can pick the best support height as well. Good for muscleups if you don't want to smash your head into a beam. Also there's no rain/snow under a bridge. Handy in lousy weather. The downside is vehicle exhaust but wind usually disperses it well. I wouldn't use it during rush hour if the vehicles above you are bumper to bumper.

  • @rankena
    @rankena 2 роки тому +3

    Such videos are very misleading. You are not identifying the downsides of these straps, and people, without practical knowledge, buy them and then stumble into problems. For example, they can't use branches, unless it's perfectly even. Secondly, you cannot lift your rings above your head, as high as possible (for pullups). You can make equal heights with buckle cams as easy as with these ones. Imbalance in muscle is nonsense, as it's impossible to miss adjust equally the same every single time. Your stance makes more imbalance then micro height difference. Your goal should be to educate, not to advertise.
