Yes, Zdenka. Vacation is meant to get lazy but also it’s faster to just use the iPhone because by the time you setup all the gears some candid moments have passed. I resumed my channel. Still practicing. Thank you for your tips as always. Enjoy your vacation!

Great tips here. Another I might add: Take TONS of footage. When I went to London and wanted to create a short on here, I used maybe 45% of what I filmed but glad I had choices. Thanks Zdenka!
Hi Jayne… yes I totally agree with you. Once I start editing and then you realize that this doesn’t fit in that doesn’t fit…., You toss away a lot of footage…. It is best to film a lot and only pick the best pieces. I hope you are doing well and enjoying the warmer weather.

I used your previous tips for my trip to France this month. I used my Sony RX100 mkVII for my still shots and my Samsung S10 with a Hohem iSteady V2 gimbal for all of my videos (using native Pro Mode video). The V2 was compact enough for me to keep in my pocket and quickly mount the phone. A big suggestion for anyone using a phone for vacation photography (about 95% of my tour group): clean the phone lens often.

Great video as always. One question how do you get the full quality video footage off your iphone onto a back up drive & to use in my editing software. ive been using icloud to my macbook but it often says non compatible despite having both gadgets up to date with software.
Thank you for your comment. I never use cloud services. I like to use USB cable to import all footage directly to computer and external drive… I hope this helps

😂😂😂 yes, I hear your wife saying it actually 😂😂 my family and I’m talking about kids hate when I start filming on a vacation. They understand it when we are not on vacation but when we are there, they give me a bad look every single time

I am glad you find the video helpful. It depends what type of phone you bought with how much memory. I simply clean my phone before I go on vacation. I just move all my photo and video files to external hard drive so the phone is clean

Absolutely agreed. Have fun…. If you don’t live in the moment and truly enjoy the vacation then it sucks…. Having beautiful video and photos is not going to give you the same moment.

I just returned from Spring holiday last week, visiting a few cities and National Parks. Thought I needed a gimbal, but yes, was very lazy to take it out of the bag. Also felt that using gimbal in public/crowd would attract people to either watching me or scolding me not to include them in my video or not to record video at all. I'm just too shy 🙈. Monopod selfie stick at best, for doing selfies. But not gimbal when walking/moving and filming. I ended up stopping (standing still) when I wanted to record footage, holding the smartphone with both hands.
Thank you very much for sharing your experience. I totally understand where you’re coming from. I felt like that exactly. Now I’m at the point that I have to produce content it’s not just a fun video for me, so I just pull it out and ignore the people. Whoever yes if you’re on the vacation, you don’t want to attract too much attention.
I've been binge watching your videos :). How often do you actually use the vnd filter when you record your videos outside (for youtube)? Can I get away with not using it or is it too important to skip (on an iphone 15)?
Outside of UA-cam, I don’t use any filters. it is only for professional use…. if you are recording just your family stuff or video from your own personal trips I don’t think you need that at all

Hi Zdenka, I'm a fan of your channel. If you don't take the tripod, which is bulky and heavy, you can place the iphone in a SmallRig or Ulanzi cage. They are lightweight and secure and will prevent your phone from falling out of your hand and breaking on the floor.
Thank you very much for your comment. Yes, I do have a smallrig cage here, which is collecting dust. 😂😂 believe it or not I drop the phone all the time, and I have moment case on it. Not even a scratch. Lol…. I may bring tripod. I’m just trying to figure out if I have a very lightweight one or if I should order one

This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my UA-cam channel 8 months ago about self development. Now I have 1,220 subs and > 1,000 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.

Just because someone doesn't have a piece of paper as a credential, doesn't mean that person is not entitled to share personal experiences with the hope & intention to inspire others. Keep up with whatever it is that you're doing to improve mankind or improving your life even to a slight degree each day. This is just one part of a bigger puzzle for creating my UA-cam channel about holistic health. I literally could have died back when I was 14 years old due to major depression but here I am right now replying to you, a UA-camr, who's full of fulfillment and dedication to help others to be a better version of themselves. I ain't better than anyone else but my old self. That's all that really makes this UA-cam thing more meaningful and enjoyable. Thanks so much for your support! @@nathananderson8720 what a lovely comment and thank you so much for sharing. We have similar path. I also was struggling with depression last few years, and I had to turn around quite a bit. There were some dark times for sure. Take it day by day. I have to honestly give you a heads up though UA-cam is sometimes a trigger to make you feel depressed and stressed so don’t let that happen to you. It’s the constant pressure we have to deal with.. best wishes and keep going
@ZdenkaDarula Thank you! I recently quit nursing as I hate it and it doesn’t make me fulfilled at all. Working in a very toxic environment isn’t worth sacrificing for. I then decided to slowly dig my way out. I am now an office manager in a clinic and do creative stuff via UA-cam and freelancing. It’s still a corporate job but I’m happier than working as a Nurse. I like the people I work with and they treat me with respect and as a human-being. That’s what’s more important to me. Having a sense of purpose through creating online content I truly care about also helps a lot. My freelancing gigs also give me creative outlets. I like the variety of tasks of being a manager as well as it offers tons of creativity. This job also gives me more free time for myself and I can spend some time socializing with my loved ones and meeting new folks. I couldn’t have been much happier if I didn’t start taking actions to change my life.

Hi Zdenka. Your subscriber here. Thank you for your next video. I have question perhaps you will be able to answer. The footage you are recording with your iPhone at 00:49 is showing juddering or loosing frames . I have the same problem when recording moving objects 4K up to 30 fps with 14pro, at 60 fps it seems to be less obvious. Have you got any ideas why is that ?🤔 I have tried various setting with no joy. I have got google pixel 7 and gopro 10 and I can't see this problem which is very annoying. Regards😊
It is because I was filmed in automatic mode with automatic frame rates which are variable and a drop as it goes. It basically adjusts frame rates non-stop … If I was filming everything in manual mode, it would not happen as the frame rate would be always the same…. I hope it all makes sense.

What do you do for space filming with an iPhone if you get out of room? I need to buy a phone and I know they come with different memory space what do you recommend? For vacation ? You can use iCloud. I periodically remove my content from smart phone and put it on external hard drive before I actually go somewhere.
