Awesome video and I like how you show when you mess up and then correct
Yeah I started to refilm that part but it might help someone else remember
Freekin amazing. That's all I know to say. That thing is perfect, no welder required, and easily adjustable for any boat. U r a genius. 👍👍👍
Thank you . It's amazingly simple 👌
That turned out AWESOME! One suggestion: after all of the paint is done, I got some clear bed liner at wal mart. It seems to hold up better than regular clear coat. Great project, even without the PPE!
Lol
That's actually a great idea man
What kind of clear bed liner? Is it spray on??
@@MMACAMVIDEOS Yes, it's Rustoleum clear bed liner. in a spray can, from WalMart
@@SluSharkND thanks!!! 🙏
That anchor is AWESOME!
Thank you Sir
You could also just use a bolt for the bottom instead of a second I bolt and use a wrench or vise to hold while you tighten. It'd be less of a snag.
That I bolt serves a purpose. You attach your chain or rope securely to the bottom loop and use a cable tie to secure it at the top of the anchor. If you get your anchor stuck you can give the rope a good yank and break the cable tie at the top, leaving it only secured at the bottom and pulling it the opposite way. This makes getting a stuck anchor back a breeze.
I think so video is just stupid so much damn work just keep something stable why not just use some allthread and lock nuts and feed done with it just ignorant just trying to make yourself look smart
Everyone is entitled too their opinions . But before being hateful and calling people ignorant you should try using spell check next time . Like I said in the video some people want a nice Anchor that doesn't cost Ober 100 bucks . Doesn't mean it's for everyone
like Mdiddy said it's so you can get your Anchor back if it gets stuck. I've explained it on some of my other Anchor videos
@@ms651156 that makes sense. I wasn't thinking about snags when I was watching it.
That's really nice. I think bout the only thing I don't have is the thick walled pipe... will have to see if I can find one
Cool looking Anchor . I have Copied a few of your DYI Projects . Enjoyed it keep them coming
Thank you Sir
magnificent....especially the green splatter!!!!
I really like this one. I'm one who doesn't weld. This just may be an option for me. Oh, and Katfish is Kool.
Definitely awesome !!!
Nice build Keith.
The material used is called thick wall tubing or heavy wall tubing. Great stuff, God bless brother.
Thank you Sir . God bless you as well
Super cool build! I appreciate how you always include your "mishaps" like forgetting the washer. Makes the rest of us feel better about the occasional blooper. Love your channel.
I don't include everything but I do try and include the educational bo bo's haha thank you for watching brother
Thank you
Very cool DIY. Keep them coming.
That's a good looking anchor. That JB weld liquid steel is awesome! I had to patch a hole in an aluminum oil pan with that stuff. It worked amazingly!
It really does
My dad ran over a simi bumper laying on the hwy. It punctured the gas tank which started leaking.
He filled the hole with JB weld and a big bolt 🔩
@@copcuffs9973 it is good stuff then 👍
Now.... take it to a muffler shop and ask them to run some beads across the important spots so it won't unscrew! Great project Keith!
It’s DOM tubing. Excellent video as usual. 👍💥
Thank you DOM tubing
Dang Keith that was 1 of the best anchor builds ive ever seen, even a person like me that cant Weld could make one of those. Man that thing is AWESOME. I love it. Great video Brother. Cant wait for the next build
Thank you buddy
The problem you had bending that flat bar was two things.
1. Your bar needs to be orange hot and heated from the outside of the bend. That's the side that will be stretched as it bends and needs to be softer.
2. The vice acts as a heatsink that absorbs the heat away from the bar. This one is ok. You can always preheat it before you put it in the vise.
I had the same thoughts on the heat sink, but he still figured out how to get it done ✅
I appreciate the knowledge. I've never tried it that way . I have a brake press . I ran one a few years at work . Without one I would have scored it , bent it then welded it normally . But I was trying to doing it simpler. And if I mess up I try and leave it in there lol 😆
Genius! I like that anchor it is saved and on my to do list. Must try. Thank you for sharing. I have saved a few of your DIY’s cause they are Awesome and easy to do. Very helpful. Cheers
Cheers my friend, thanks for watching
Pretty cool.
I just recently bought 2 small boats and a 2 person kayak and all I have is a crappy chinese anchor. I checked online to buy some and literally all the anchors I have access to are chinese garbage. I am so glad you made 2 DIY anchor videos. I for sure will be making at least 2 of these!
Thank you . I think I've made 4 DIY anchors so far . And I'll make another one if I figure out a way to do it easier
Really love your DIYs. I took 2 pieces of 1 1/2× 5×8 welded on top of each other then welded a chain to it one of the best anchors I've ever used
This things frickin awesome!! I have a welder. I am a welder fabricator and all my buddies come to me always asking to build em things for their boat, I just send them your UA-cam links. Especially stuff like this that you don't really need anything but basic hand tools. #awesome
I always love your videos!!! I've used a few of your days and they work perfectly. Keep up the awesome content!!!!!
Thank you Sir
Ta day you anchored a 👍
Every video is genius!!!
Thank you
The D.I.Y. king strikes again!!!! You had me anchored to my seat watching this build!!!⚓⚓⚓
Haha 😄
G'day mate great idea for them fellas that can't or don't have a welder. Keep up the great show 🍻
Thank you Mate I appreciate you
What does bitumen stand for .. (im a yankee) i thought it meant vitamins.. lol
Great build. I made mine with black gas pipe. I left the bottom blade free to swing and fold under the top so it collapses flat for storage. I drilled holes at the junction for a 5/8 thumb screwto keep it in place when deploying it and storing it.
Great idea ! Will definitely have to use this !
anchor looks amazing and very well planned out
Thank you , I appreciate that
Nice work!
That's awesome going to have to give that a try
Hi, love your stuff. The next time you need a bike inner tube to cover a chain or for anything, don't cut up a new one. Go to your local bike shop and ask for a used one. They usually have trash cans full of them and the ones you get will not end up in the land fill.
That's a good idea . We don't have many bike shops near me . A 4 dollar one from Walmart is cheaper than driving to another town . But that is a great idea 💡
Rocking out to the music
This looks like a good way to use those old riding mower blades you or your buddies replaced. Love your inspiring videos!
Thank you , lawnmower blades would work great
That’s awesome 😎 man!!!
TA DAY you did it again! Awesome!
Another great video Keith!!!
Thank you Lyle
I know guy's don't like this word to much but, this Anchor is BEAUTIFUL!!🙏❤🇺🇲⛵
Thank I'm ok with that , I appreciate it
Terrific job on the anchor, the paint sceme was really awesome !
Thank you
Awesome
Looks great!👍
Great effort. 👍
Awesome video I love watching your videos keep them coming you have a lot of ideas.
Will you sell me that anchor for my boat
I don't sell anything. But I sure do appreciate it brother
I like that you can take the screw out of the end and fold it flat
If you make it for that purpose, then make one tine bigger than the other so it'll fold completely flat . That's a really good idea
It did turn out awesome! 👍 Very inspiring, got my wheels to turnin'
Awesome work!
Glad to see that the Mapp gas didn’t work…‘cause it didn’t work for me either! I used it to heat and bend 3/16” steel bar to make some light brackets for my boat. I ended up clamping the bar in my vise and beating it into 90 degree angles with a sledge hammer. It wasn’t pretty but I got it done, though I did have to file and sand out some of the hammer damage. I wish I had seen this video first as the pipe wrench was a good idea that I could have used.
It worked pretty good after I got it all figured out
The Zombie Blood Anchor lol I like it.
Lmbo
AWESOME pant job!
Thank you
I need a few of those stickers
Great build Keith I think I’m going to built me one but I have a wire feed machine so I’ll do it that way! Enjoyed the video as always thank you
I like welding em better too
Pure Awesomeness!!!
😁 thank you Sir
Awesome DIY anchor! I definitely see one of these in my future!
Sweet build!! I have 36" of heavy wall aluminum pipe, not that heavy though, that I have sitting here just waiting to play with. Maybe I'll make an anchor!!!
Too Funny, just appreciate your personality--I can't get my wife to quit sayen "tu-dayyyy"--hope you're doing great.
Haha thank you Sir . I hope you are too . Tell her I said to stick around lol
Duuuuude that was a Sweeeeet anchor my friend.
Great video this will work
You're great that is an awesome anchor I love it and the logo makes it even better lol
Thank you Sir I appreciate it, the logo did finish it nicely
It looks great, and the artist touch at the end is nice. Of course, you could just assemble it and I had a few welds. But where’s the fun in that?
I know but some people don't have a weld , and some people can't afford one . So I thought this would be a cool alternative
@@FishinNStuff it is indeed.
That's damned awesome! Please, make more of this stuff! I love your simple and easy DIY's. Nice greetings from Germany!
Thank you . Germany that's awesome
Another cool project bud. Might have explained why two eye bolts for any that don't know it has to do with attaching chain so if hung up, you can stiff get it up.
Again great job. Can't wait for next video.
I talked about it on my last 3 Anchor builds . I just forgive I guess .
Lmao! Like flaring your brake line and then put your fitting on after! Lots of love and blessings from Ontario Canada!
Yep lol . Same to you my friend
Now that’s awwwwsome!
Great video, I do a little metal work and I have found that when I try bending a piece with heat I heat it out side of the vise and then quickly put it in the vise on the line and then bend it, it works for me better then trying to heat it on the line already like you tried. Maybe that can help you out.
I normally just use a brake press . But that's good info . I was trying to do it more simple but that didn't work lol
That was a great diy
Thank you I appreciate it
as a southern boy i like the tree frogs lol
Me too lol . But they were not a guest on my channel haha 😆
Awesome. Ty
That was VERY cool bud! Awesome looking anchor!
Thank you Sir
@@FishinNStuff you are very welcome bud
Good times.
This is very cool. I fish small rivers from a canoe, and getting an anchor hung up is always a pain. I had previously looked at your other anchor videos and been planning to make one of those until I saw this. I think I'll make mine with one set of tines slightly shorter than the other, and a removable "set-screw" so I can either set the tines at 90 degrees and keep them from spinning, or remove the screw and fold them flat for storing. Was thinking a sort of wing-nut welded to a small bolt sort of thing for the set-screw. Would welcome suggestions on a good way to do this! Keep up the great work and good humor!
That you Sir , I think the folding them flat flat idea is a cool idea
I wanted to weld that anchor at the end before you painted it. So bad 😂.
Lol me too lol
I’ve been modifying my new Jon Boat with aluminum and rivets, but having the JBWeld to attach a few necessary pieces to the hull has been a game changer! 👊🏻💥
It's good stuff
Quick question, what kind of blade were you using when you cut through your metal pieces with your chop saw?
It's not a chop saw , the RPMs are different . It's called a cold cut saw
www.lowes.com/pd/Evolution-10-Amp-7-25-in-Chop-Saw/3386576
Wow you are artist aswell 👏 briliant show
Sorry but I laffed when I saw you missed the washer . I was wondering if u was going to show us and you did 🎩 is off 😁
👍👍👍😜🏴🦕🙂✌🤞
Yeah I started to refilm that part but it might help someone else remember
@@FishinNStuff deffo
Awesome build!
Awesome! You did good, friend. Just too bad we, literally, bought a new anchor the day before the video.
Can you make a treble hook gaff for pier fishing the same way you made your no weld anchor
Ohio, I want dat anchor!
I'd love to have one of your projects on my boat. I hate my little mushroom anchors. 🙄
Thank you Sir , I'll be honest the first river anchor I made I didn't even remember to take it for nearly a year but when I did finally take it I couldn't believe the difference , compared to a mushroom
I need a bow anchor for my boat...think I am headed to the scrap yard....lol
Lol
Like it....have you ever thought about a worn out disk brake rotor like that? I thought the solid part of the thick wall pipe with the holes where lug studs go could be your points of non-turning flukes or tines...all bolted and the thickest and eyebolt construction could still be utilized. .with the rotor and thick wall pipe, it ought to easily be a 20 lb anchor....
That's a good idea man
Since you always hook us up with hacks I got one for you...
Use the caulk gun (hole on the handle) to cut the tip of the caulk/silicone...
Now you don't need to pull out those scissors...
I knew that I guess I'm just stuck in my ways lol . Mine has a poker on it too but I still use a screwdriver usually lol . Don't ask my why . . I appreciate any tips always
that right thare is Awesome
Thank you Sir
what do you mean no weld, i saw j b weld (ha, ha) good job as always
Dang it !!!! You busted me lol 😆
Well that that right there is Awesome!
But, I do have one question. Immediately after you snipped the tip of the silicone tube, you used the sissers on it a second time. What was that for???
The tip got mashed kinda flat when I cut it so I turned 90deg and opened it back up
If youre fishing deeper or running a longer anchor line, it wouldnt really hurt to let it be able to spin cus youre gonna put a swivel on it anyway
That's true , I didn't think about that. And if you use JB weld on the threads on the inside. It would never come apart
I really like the Fishin N Stuff sticker you put on the anchor. Do you sell those?
You can use the link in the description box to check if there is any in stock . I do have them normally
You ever take guys out fishing for big cats ? Like as in pay ya? Love to learn . Been to Santee on guided trips but they just have you reel them in
I never have before . I don't have a captains license or anything . Dieter Melhorn does that
I must have totally missed it but did you figure out how much that anchor you made weighs? Awesome ideas you give on diys brother
Thank you , I believe it was like 13lbs or so
Hi: I had but lost your video on welded colombia style welded anchor. Please post. Thanks, Eric
ua-cam.com/video/2_mujekPaDI/v-deo.html
Nice video 👍. Don't use anchors much as I, fish from a float tub or shoreline manly. When I can afford at boat 🙂 , will not be buying a anchors 😉👍
The lil kayak anchor wouldnt hold you on a river or sand bottom if there was ANY wind., .. youd have to go up to the 15# (Sry but i had to tell you)
Expensive!!! btw
Do you know of any hacks for drop shot weights? I was thinking machine bolts (weigh them) and then figuring out how to tie them to the line.. Kind of like an inverse mushroom. Not sure there's enough weight comparitively?
I've thought about trying to make some drop shots
DIY No Power Tools Anchor next?
I might if this video does good 👍
that piece is actually 1.5" heavy wall tubing, pipe goes by ID. max OD. for 3/4" pipe is 1.050" that's for 3/4" sch.160 and 3/4" XXS pipe
Thank you . I looked it up and that's how it was listed with the numbers I mean . I like heavy wall tubing better
I'm a new subscriber and just going through all this awesome DIY stuff!! One question though, I know this video is a year old but... How do you think this DIY anchor would work on a sandy or muddy bottom? I'm down here in Florida and there's not too many rocky bottoms where I fish. Thank you!!
Our bottoms are the same way . One of the anchors I built like that ( a river anchor ) I figured my mushrooms would out perform it , but I used one of each one night fishing and I was surprised to find out it held 3 times better than my mushrooms on sandy bottom . Been use them ever since
Thank you so much!!!@@FishinNStuff
Or you can get a piece of water pipe with thread at one end, drill hole through end with no thread, put in shackle, put flange on other end and bolt on cross pieces. Drop in some lead if needed.
Keith… your wife must be a nurse… you stole her trauma shears to cut that caulk open… that’s awesome… come on up to Kerr lake here in VA where the BIG CATS are!
