I used these with the Team Catfish weight slides to make a ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxdmsDj7fQXe77DC0l7P7ua8B3PiESUubM Carolina rig and they were perfect for the ponds I fish. I have also used them to make 3 way rigs and these work perfectly. Haven't had any issues with them snagging in rocks or in weeds yet.
Another awesome video! Thanks Keith! I have been contemplating making my own muzzleloader/buckshot molds…i think you just pushed me over the edge to try it. Of course i will make an egg sinker mold as well!
As a retired guy I love your channel, great ideas that don’t break the bank. Keep it coming great stuff
Yep. This video is AWESOME. :)
I stopped short of making my own custom molds for jig heads, because the mold "blanks" were just as expensive as the dang finished molds. Lol NOW? I just learned how to make unlimited mold blanks for super cheap, super fast. 👌 AND, it's gonna be the same/same for plastic bait molds! Sweet!
Thank you!
That was awesome! 💯 I haven’t laughed this hard for a minute. Keep them coming!
I’m definitely going to make my own version of this. Thanks for the idea
nice job again. like watching you with all your diys. keep em coming. you the man
TADAY! We get to see him lay some eggs! I mean make some eggs! I mean make some egg sinkers! Gave me a great idea for some snap on sinkers for walleye trolling! Thank you! Stay safe and healthy!
Your mold could have been heated more before pouring so your sinkers would not have so many wrinkles. This was a really great idea for making your own sinker mold. Thanks for the video!
Also adding linotype to the lead or tin. More important on bullet molds of course but having pretty sinkers is nice too!
You can use two flute high speed end mills for aluminum. Wd-40 is the best thing I’ve used when cutting it. You could also use some sort of saw to put pry slots on the corners in case it sticks
Very nice job on that mold. Super cool!!
Nice build. Gotta love them egg sinkers.
Excellent video your sinks look great big thanks nice videos I whach them whenever you up load good job 👍
You could also grind a 1/2 inch drill bit to make a round finishing bit .
That was awesome as always love the hacks and the lures lol great stuff
Great job. !!! Please tell your wife that I will be ordering a bunch more of the fish-n-stuff black tees. My twin boys wore them to school (6th grade). Now all their friends want one just like Keegan and Camden’s.
I’m just say’n. Lol. Mike V.
Very nice thank you for showing it on you tube have a good night 🙂
This video is just what I needed for my next build. Thank you
Always good stuff Mr. Keith!
I already have a DIY mold.... it's called my neighbor. He makes lead weights for a living. 😃
This is a smart channel for sure. Entertaining too, especially that lil green plug, he funny as heck!
I make the moulds for my cast net weights using bondo. There are several tutorials on yt on how to make them. And yes, the bondo can withstand the heat of molten lead just fine.
Also, if you really want aluminum and dont have the tools and stuff, lee moulds (they sell moulds for casting bullets) can sell you a blank mould with locating pins and handles. All you do is some drilling and shaping your “pattern”.
Thank you that is the one I’ve been waiting on, you make it look easy lol
Vids have some really good idea's. In fact I have several in progress. Main reason I watch EVERY vid is this man his bird and his bait crack me up. And I like the music. Keep 'em comin'
Keith I have use a few of your DIYs I really like the koosie one to keep my leader ,material in thanks for another great idea
Excellent as always.
Super cool project!!
If you think Race City is high go to some of the others they charge a minimum. You can't buy just a small piece of metal. Thanks Keith always great.
Another AWESOME video Keith!!!
I like you a lot man...showing the that shit happens when it doesn't work out is priceless. the work that's involved to make a plan come together isn't pees and carets.
Been away for a while but catchin’ back up! Love the sinker mold brother!!!👊🏻🇺🇸
@12:54 A stainless steel ladle from the dollar store works well too. I've melted many a pound of lead in it and it's still good to go.
Awesome 👍 if you have all the gear and equipment already to make'em 😁
Caught you a second time by accident, noticed the drag sinker video first and was pleasantly surprised it was you.Education with entertainment. Keep up the good work and thanks,PS went to the third video.
Bought bunch of molds last trip to cabelas that was on sale so got as many as I could afford. Remember to heat your mold before pouring hot lead into. I also put a cake of bees wax in my melting lead never had problems with stinking...
Where I fish I need a little heavier sinkers. So i make mine by using a tea candle cup. My weights weigh between 5 & 6 oz.
Keith, Another Awesome DIY...just Awesome. Did I mention it was Awesome?
Really awesome video, I got to try this one!
You can run a burning candle under the inside of your mold so that it coats it in soot. That way the lead doesn't stick. Also your mold is a bit cold, can see by the waves in the lead. Fantastic video! Made me want to go make some molds for myself now.
Awesome!! You guys are lucky to have scrap yards that will sell you stuff like that. They wont do that around here.
Them Sinkers looked Pretty Darn good .
Keith, try using alcohol when drilling aluminum. It keeps it cool while lubricating the drill bit. I really enjoy watching your videos.
Allsome job Keith!
Always great stuff.
Wow, makes me want to buy a drill press. I have the same hot pot for melting lead. It is perfect and easy to pour.
John had your video playing before I knew it was up.
Very informative and entertaining video as always! Really enjoy your videos a lot !
Numero uno Mr.Keith....superbravo
Wax makes a very nice lube for working with aluminum, either drilling or tapping holes and it is cleaner then liquid lubes.
Excellent as always
Very nice project... I think I'd want to make them more than two at a time, so I'd probably go just a bit longer on a mold. Loved the vid!
I would too . But it was just a tutorial . Steel might hold the heat better in the mold .
keep them coming buddy ty for sharing
Another cool video 👍🏻👊🏻
yay lol I am beginning to warm to your style :)
G'day mate luv the PPE 😆 your a funny bloke nearly Choked on me beer 🤣 keep up the humour mate it makes your show stand out. No wonder real Aussies and real Yankees get on, we got the same humour 🍻
Dig it! Well done!
Love it !!
Awesome!👍💥
Excellent project….TKS
Exactly what I needed....just as described!!
Very cool Keith
Good Job ............ Two Thumbs Up. Tight Line
Awesome DIY VIDEO 👍👍. I make my line holes, the same diameter a plastic candy stick. Cut a length 3mm longer than the weight, push through the line hole. And mushroom them over, with a lighter. As it helps with the weight running, up & down, without chaffing your line. As that is how most, in-line Carp weight are especially in-line feeder weights. A small half Oz in-lines are awesome, when fishing for trout with doe-bait 🎣😃👍
I use race city for my welding business.
If I get there early enough I like to stop at Stacey's for breakfast.
Great job. Thanks
Awesome 👏
You could press them in using a "C" clamp with a large enough throat opening to press the stainless steel rod into the blocks. You may need to use a piece of hollow steel rod over the clamp handle to increase the leverage to turn the screw and press the rod intl the blocks.
Very nice project sir👍
Not only is this video entertaining its also.......Awesome! I just pulled and old cast net out of creek some lazy dingus left behind. Not only did I clean their mess up,I got free sinkers! I thought that was pretty dang aw_ _ _ me( fill in the blank) 😅
Another great video brother butttttt I'm still waiting on that diy ultimat bank fishing cart lol
Thanks for the great video 👍👍👍🖐️
Super video, thanks
Now isn't that slick! Cool idea!
Great Video Keith. Man i tried not to laugh when you missed the 1st pour. Lol Only thing i missed was i figured you would weigh them . Awesome build Brother cant wait for the next 1
I'm sorry 3/4 oz was the weight of the round one and .60 oz or a little over a half oz on the drill bit weight
Great video! 👍🏼
That's awesome
Freaking awesome dude
I was going to do mine, when I get around to it,with a drill bit but I forgot about the end mill bits.....making a trip to the garage to dig some out now....lol
Those pull pins,if you take a rag/towel and oil it they'll come out of the egg easier.
Doesn't matter what oil you use,I just use one of the extra bottles of air tool oil I bought after misplacing 3 others....after 5-6 pours in a Do-it mold I'll run the pin across the towel with the oil.
If you could wobble the bit just a hair before you finish boring the cavity it'll let it angle outwards towards the center and the eggs should pretty much just fall out when mold is pulled apart. Might be best to do when press is off and just twist the chuck by hand, shouldn't take much to angle it just a hair.
Could also use the end mill bit in the press to make the mold as Do-it does. Will take a lil more time and patience though.
Awesome video
3/32" dia. ER70S6 welding filler rod works great as a replacement rod for creating the "thru holes" in egg sinkers.
Now we ready!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
excellent thanks
AWESOME!!!!!!
Well jeez that looked EZ, now I’m sorry I bought an egg sinker mold last spring ! 🤔🤣
Cool
coat the inside of the cavity with candle smoke to make it release more easily.
I’d say that was awesome
Great PPE. You didn't mention the cement board athletic cup, but I'm assuming it's use was implied....
Awesome video! 1st real comment.. 😆
Good one....
That is awesome I have got to make me one of those great job
You know I was thinking if you cut long blocks and had a drill bit the length of a pencil you might be able to make dragging weights right ?
I always use diesel or kerosene as a cutting fluid for alum. Love your channel. We’re headed to Maggie Vally & Kill Devil Hill, We go to NC every few years.
That's awesome, where are you from . Ol and I'll have to try diesel as cutting fluid 🤔 that's interesting
Small Harbor Freight drill bits aren't worth a crap for me either. Idk if a punch might drive it out or not. You're a good fabricator so I trust your opinion. I just like watching you build things, I don't need a sinker mold but I'm watching this video. lol
I tried driving it out . But since it was like 50 cents worth of aluminum. And I was spending way to much time on it . I just started over lol . I learned that building stuff and watching forged in fire . Sometimes chasing a problem is worse than just starting over
If you have a machine shop local you can sometimes buy drops from them.
Told ya I was on the way to watch it.
Lol
John
If you smoke the mold with a candle 🕯the sinkers won't stick, just tap the open mold with something non marring and the sinkers will drop right out. Great video, I've watched them all.
Thanks for the video
2nd that I always soot a mold.. just hold it at a angle a few inches away from the molds, also smoke the inlet, it will make the lead flow way way easier. Best mold release ever. I heat mine with a heat gun
I dont make stinkers but I like your videos
The way these are made you will have to smoke or dry spray the mold, unless you can/want to make the cavity angle outwards towards each half and they'll then just fall out but most molds smoking or spray is unneeded.
Over my 30 some yrs pouring sinkers, jigs, bullets, etc. and my stepfathers 50+ not one of our molds ever needed smoked or sprayed. I do have one newer jig mold though I may use it on to see if it'll help Do-it Wobble Head mold. The way it's designed the outside edges catch as you try and pull it open.
I been going to make some custom jig and sinker molds just haven't got around to it yet.I will add handles and a hinge though and make them able to pour 8-10 or 12 at a time depending on size.
@@rider660r I smoke my molds for a cleaner pour not a easier release. I like to use different hooks and sometimes the molds will not pour as easy with larger shank hooks.
