Honestly, I'm not sure what to get next. I still don't own any PDPs, but I'm also curious to see what the 1911 hype's all about. The icing on the cake for me is still the 19x though, long long overdue.
Those mags love to rust. I’ve found that some of the accessories like the irons or the mag release likes to rust as well. Some steel wool and oil and a good scrubbing takes care of it, and it hasn’t happened since. My P365 that I bought not too long ago doesn’t rust a bit, seems to be hit or miss. If you carry it a lot that’ll definitely attract more moisture so more rust in theory.
It's a bit disappointing, I was quite impressed with it at first. Average grip size, with above average capacity, was a huge bonus. Now I just stare at it like it's a dirty whore, lol.
@@Stormtrooper_Accuracy I still really like mine, although the grip is practically as long as a Glock 17. Way thinner albeit but the grip length is what really prints when carrying. The thinness is what I like about it for EDC.
Wipe it down with a silicone rag and move on. Rust is always present. Whatever I am carrying gets a quick once over at least once a week in the summer. I also perform a more thorough cleaning after a range trip. No rust on any of my 365s. Don't forget to change out that ammo as much as possible.
Ha! I was just telling someone else that I've been trying not to pick up any new calibers. One new caliber purchase, and I'd probably be hooked all over again.
@@Stormtrooper_Accuracy Collecting calibers is a horrible addiction. you get to feeling you have to stockpile everything and it never ends. God help me if I ever get into 10mm.
Your climate has a lot to do with that. I live in SE Idaho with low humidity and I've yet to see rust after 3 years on our guns. But I just got a 365 legion so only time will tell. Try humidifier packs if you haven't already. Find ballistiol for a cleaner it leaves a nice film rather than drying up like some. If Hickok likes it then it has to be good.
That's how they sell below MAP pricing. It's a legal thing and isn't actually meant to be a way to trick you. It's to sell it to you for a price that the manufacturer doesn't allow them to openly advertise. It's a weird concept but its common in the gun industry for some reason.
The rusting is what kept me away from xmacro i really want the tacops edition but seeing they came out with the new fuse edition might have to snag one
Oh man, that's disappointing. As soon as I saw you posted this video, I ran to check if my macro had any rust because I also had it in the shower with me a few times. Thankfully I didn't see any. At least it's limited to you mag-o-zeen.
I work in a tool and die shop and we make tooling for stamping presses which means the final part is made of stamped sheet metal. I've seen sheet metal rust over night. It depends on how its coated, how its stored, and obviously the climate. I'd suggest getting some WD40 and a scotch brite pad and then apply a little bit of elbow grease. That's surface rust and you'll most likely be able to clean it right off. P.S. I think rotating carry guns is extremely silly. The only reason to ever change your EDC is if you have a specific need for deeper concealment. Otherwise, it would be a good idea to carry the same pistol every day and make sure you shoot it as often as possible to gain mastery. Your EDC is your last line of defense, not a fashion statement. Your "rotation" even requires you to adapt to a different manual of arms because your P365 has a manual safety. Not a good idea imo...not the simple fact the gun has a safety, but the swapping between one that does and one that doesn't... I carry a G19 and will continue to do so regardless of what the latest hotness is. I have other guns and shoot them often but I trust my life to a G19.
Thanks for chiming in. Good to know that wd40 is acceptable to use on firearms. As for the carry rotation, been considering replacing the Sig with another Glock. Or, just carrying the Sig with the thumb safety off. Still undecided.
Man....I was super excited to get one of these. I used to have a P229 and that thing had some rusting issues as well. However, my 2 M&P's are totally rust free, and I've showered with both of those... I guess I'll be sticking with those for now, until I can afford to cerakote the Sig...
@@Stormtrooper_Accuracy Con= no micro compact, a bit heavier, over one inch wide, not a big aftermarket. Pro = Beretta, rotating barrel (non-tilt), ammo feeds more directly/level into chamber, less perceived recoil, better potential for accuracy, durability, two main aftermarket supporters, Langdon Tactical & Wilson Combat. Lastly I suppose these could technically fit on both categories, it's hammer fired da/sa triggers.
I’d get something in chrome or stainless steel for the bathroom. Or maybe keep your Glock in the bathroom instead. My 2018 365 has a brown seems like rust on the inside of the slide rails at one point. I cleaned it and used some g96 or whatever it’s called with lithium grease on the rails. That seemed to solve the issue. But I believe the sig finish is whack! Just like my ruger max 380. It keeps a brown hue on the slide no matter what!
Silver finish would be nice, it would solve the rust problem. Luckily, the gun itself is fine. Knock on wood. I'd have to agree, the finish isn't good at all. Only carried it for about a month before issues arose.
Not gonna lie, that Girsan looks hella nice. But the Walther PDP with the performance trigger will have you seeing colors you've never seen before.

@@Stormtrooper_Accuracy I feel you. I'm eyeing some Kimber 1911s as we speak.
Rust never sleeps, buddy!

Yeah, there's no fighting rust.

@oneshoeless thanks for chiming in Jackson. I appreciate the excellent advice, the cleaning has begun.👌
I live at the beach, so for me this is standard procedure, Froglube all your guns. Haven't found a better anti-rust.
I'll check out that Froglube, thanks for the heads up.👍
Get the M&P40 Compact with a 357SIG barrel. They take the same mags. You could get a 9 mm barrel for it too.

Definitely a bit irritating how they force the customer's hand.

I would've done the same thing in your shoes. Still taking mine in the shower to see if it holds up, though.

Hmm, so it seems Sigs are no strangers to rust. I'd really like an M&P eventually. The 2.0 seems like a decent starting point.
Anytime you train or sweat a lot while carrying just wipe down all the metal with some oil, it doesn’t need to be a lot just a light coat.
Sound advice. Much appreciated, good-sir. 🫡
You should get into a 10mm next.👊
Been fighting the urge. All it takes is one 10mm purchase to open the flood gates.

That's good news, sir.
My sig mag is rusting as well.
Ahh, I see. Were u able to stop the spread?
@@Stormtrooper_Accuracy it’s basically just in 1 small spot and I haven’t done anything to it. I just left it for now.
Forget the list.. You Absolutely need to get a PX4 Storm, whatever size you want! "Nuff Said"
What're the cons or negatives with the Px4? I don't know much about them.

M&P is superior to the Glock and the sig. Just thought you should know
Alrighty.
