Just bought and shot this exact gun, the compensator does produce a ton of dust, phenomenal built and perfect weighted weapon .. Excellent vid on how to clean it.
Just bought a P365 XMACRO yesterday, took it to the range today, and am cleaning it right now! Thanks for this video, and nice tip with the little catch that can stop you putting the gun back together if its up. I would have been so frustrated if I didnt know about that!
I just wanted to thank you for making this video. Everyone has their individual methods of how to clean firearms. Although, the way you explained how to clean your Sig P365 X Macro made the cleaning seem easy to do. Hopefully, others watching will want to clean their firearms more often. I'm for clean firearms! Take care of the "Tools" that can save your life! Sig is a great brand and will work great new out of the box! Keep your firearms clean! Great information! I'm looking forward to watching more from you. Thanks again and stay safe out there... ME, from North Georgia
thanks you for this!! every video about cleaning a weapon recomends a tons of items that cost alot of money, this was simple, and i dont have to go buy much, apreciate you for not sending me to spend 500 bucks just to clean my weapon!
Glad the cleaning video helped, you can get a small bottle of Rem oil at most Walmarts for around $3 and buy cotton swabs and napkins at the dollar tree! Thanks for watching, and thank you for the nice comment.
I just bought one today and fired it for the first time and I wanted to bring it home and mess with it and clean it thank you so much for this video I'm new to the guns and I would have never figured it out LOL so again thank you awesome video and so detailed
Bought this exact firearm a few weeks ago and finally took out to the range. Read through the dissemble portion of the owner's manual. But seeing an example of how this gun in cleaned makes it so much clearer. Not to mention, the tip @7:09 about the little part that needs to be in a down position or the slide will not go back on. I would have never known that. Superb video. Thank you. Subbed!
Great choice! I love mine, I own the original P365, the X-Macro comp, and the X-Macro Tac Ops, non comp version that came with 4 Magazines. Thanks for watching!
I never though about cleaning the guide rod after putting it back together with the spring pulled back. Nice. Im saveing your video. I bought the SIG SAUER P365 X-MACRO TAC OPS and added a holosun eps carry reflex green dot. That was the only eps carry I found with green dot. I wanted the mrs , but it wasn’t available from where I purchased
Glad the video helped, the X Macro runs dirty because of the shorter barrel blowing gun power everywhere lol, I have a Glock 45, is the G47 just a Glock 45 with the Glock 17 slide and barrel? Thanks for watching.
Just bought it , was looking for a good video on cleaning it. I've been cleaning guns for a while and never thought to clean guide rod with slide back to expose rod. Always used a small brush. I noticed you didn't use any carbon cleaner, so you forgo that and just run dry q tips and oil?
Thank you good sir for this well done video! Just bought my first EDC and got the xmacro. So far i love it! Already shot about 5-600rounds out of it on the range and figured maybe shes do gor her 1st cleaning as well as my 1st time cleaning a pistol. Gonna do it just like you said in this vid. Happy shooting and carry on! 👍🏻💪🙏
Congrats on your new Sig XMacro! I love mine, but I have only put 100 rounds through mine, so I am a bit jealous of your 600 rounds though yours lol. Glad you enjoyed my video, thank you for the nice comment and thanks for watching!
After 100 rounds yeah the comp is pretty dirty and the barrel is dirty too at the front, probably good idea to clean it after every hundred rounds, thanks for watching.
Great video. Thanks for posting. The one problem I have had is I can't release the slide lock with a empty magazine in it. Is this normal with the X-Macro and P365's in general?
You are not the only one that cannot release the slide lock on an empty magazine and I can’t either. I am thinking that Sig did that on purpose. I could be wrong but there are a lot of videos out there with people having the same problem. I don’t think it’ll make a difference, as long as your gun functions properly and when a loaded mag is locked into the gun and you hit the slide lock and it loads a round into the chamber then you are good. Thanks for watching.
That is normal with the X-Macro. When I first tried it at the store I was wondering if it was broken. Lol. My SigP229 would slide release with an empty magazine and was wondering why the X-Macro would not. The salesman told me that is how Sig configured it with the X-Macro. Just remove the empty magazine and the slide will release. If the mag is loaded the slide will release to extract a round. I have wondered if the other 365s do it this way too. I bought the X-Macro that day. Such a beautiful gun.
My sheild arms mags were sticky like that brand new , I cleaned all that brown sticky crap off . I've never had a single problem with them , not one failure.
Now that I think of it my shield arms mags were sticky also, even stickier than the Sig mags ..glad to hear your Shield mags work well for you, loved my Glock 43x, I miss that gun since I sold it. Thanks for watching.
I’m glad the video was helpful, did you know that Sig now sells the X macro grip modules and 17rd Magazines, so you could actually build a Macro XL if you wanted to! Thanks for watching.
The gun was new for this cleaning, but if it was a cleaning after 1000 or more rounds I would have sprayed some CLP on the barrel and the slide and let it sit for a while then brush clean, and repeat that if needed until it came clean. Thanks for watching!
You got the right one, in the beginning Sigg only sold the gun for $799 with two magazines in a compensator. They came out with the non-compensated with 4 magazines and then they just came out with a new one. Non compensated 2 magazines no extended mag release and no mag well! You got the best deal out of all of us I’m very jealous! lol
@@GunsAndThings ok thanks for the info I was really confused! I knew I owned the macro but I def didn’t have the compensator. Then I was reading there’s only x macros not just macros so I was confused when shopping for holsters
Your welcome, glad I could help, Sig is releasing new variants so fast that it is hard to keep up! You got a great deal on your Sig! I might pick that new one up for myself! Thanks for the nice comment..
As a general rule you can go 400 to 500 rounds at a range day and then clean the gun but for my every day carry gun I make sure it’s clean after every 100 rounds.. hope that helps, thanks for watching
I have never used rubbing alcohol to clean the inside of my guns but I have used it on the slide and outside of the slide to clean the slide serrations with a Q-tip on a very dirty gun so yeah I have in the past used rubbing alcohol on the exterior of the slide, hope that helps thanks for watching
I want to add one more thing at the end of cleaning my gun I use a clean towel to wipe the exterior off really well and that usually takes all of the gun oil off without the gun being slippery, I just wanted to clarify lol
If it is in the barrel of the gun it is a chamber flag, and if it’s in the trigger guard it is a trigger lock. Both are easily removed. Hope that helps.
When the recoil spring is out of the gun, you can roll it around on a cleaning towel, and wipe it with a paper towel to get off as much oil and dirt as you can. Then after you’ve fired 500 rounds through your gun and your recoil spring is really dirty, you can spray it down with some CLP, and then wipe it the best you can when it’s out of the gun and then you can use that trick I showed in the video with the slide pulled back to get a Q-tip in there to clean it after it’s back in the gun. Thanks for watching , I hope that helped.
It was a brand new gun never fired so I didn’t clean the barrel on this gun in that video, But when a gun is brand new you can clean the barrel if you like by running a clean cloth patch down the barrel a few times. Thanks for watching.
If you want me to do a quick video removing the slide to help you with that I will do one and send it to you. The slides on each one of these Sigs remove differently. Thanks for watching.
Please can someone help me w some cleaning spray or thing they us for there hand gun or firearms funds are kind of low rite now please.if not thanks for take your time to read this comment.
You don’t need expensive cleaning products to clean your firearms, a small bottle of Rem Oil can be bought at Walmart for around $3 and it works very well. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
I have a lot of different kinds of holsters, sometimes I use pocket holsters, I have some Kydex in the waistband holsters, depends on the day and what pants I’m wearing and what gun I’m carrying, use the holster that works best for your situation, practice drawing your firearm many times while it is unloaded with the set up that you like best, thank you for watching
Ohh ok, I don’t have a holster for X Macro yet, I am still carrying my Springfield HellCat with a 15 round magazine, I keep the X Macro in a drawer in a nightstand by my bed.
I use Remington gun oil, breakfree CLP spray, (clean lubricate and protect spray cleaner), cotton swabs, clean napkins, and a clean soft towel. I didn’t touch on cleaning the inside of the barrel in this video because it was a brand new gun that was never shot, if you also need to clean the inside of the barrel there are a lot of good videos on UA-cam. Thank You for watching.
Oh and I also use Lucas gun oil with the needle applicator, its a tiny bottle of bluish oil sold in most gun shops, sorry I forgot to mention that in my earlier reply, hope that helps.
Thank you. I love the q-tip. Im glad I watched this. My only complaint is the sound the cotton makes when you drag it across metal. It makes me wanna puke. Its like nails on a chalkboard
During the trigger pull? Probably because it is a brand new gun, metal parts tend to make noises when breaking in. I am pretty sure it is nothing serious, after a few hundred rounds hopefully that noise goes away. Thanks for watching and thank you for mentioning that issue.
Or the racking of the slide right after the trigger pull? The noise after the trigger pull is just the rails grinding together.. new guns take time for the metal to blend together, kinda like when you buy a new car, the brakes need to bed in to be smooth.. hope that helps
@@GunsAndThings this one- when you rack the slide. And that’s what I guessed, but I’ve put over 500 rounds through it. Not sure if that’s enough though.
This video felt like my grandpa was teaching me something, and I loved every bit of it 🤣 good job sir!!
