I saw another video where someone tested the best way to keep your coffee beans fresh, and he concluded the freezer preserved the flavor of the most so I now pour frozen beans straight from the freezer into the Scala because moisture from the frozen beans keeps static to a minimum, and still great flavor.
I've had mine for just over 30 days and it's so jammed up I can't remove the burr. I've had several grinders in the past and thought I would upgrade to a burr grinder but this one turned out to be a real piece of junk. I have an old blade grinder lying around somewhere. I think I'll use that.
I’m new to grinding and looking for some sort of instruction on which settings to start with for pour overs, French Press, drip coffee. There’s no chart in the manual and I called your company and was referred to this video but there is no mention of what settings to try out.
There's a video on the grinder itself, which he says to use setting 22 for French press (probably cold brew as well) and 11 for drip. For pour over or Chemex, I'd go a bit coarser, at maybe 15-18, but that's something you'll have to play with. I literally just unboxed this yesterday and used it for the first time this morning (it's gonna be a backup for my Baratza which currently needs repairs). I used setting 11 for my drip maker and a nice Mayan blend, and it does seem to be a bit on the fine side. I went ahead and used 2 filters just in case to remove any excess oils and the result is a fine cup of coffee. I'll probably play with the settings, but 11 is OK, but 13 might be a little better. Play with it and see what works for you.
Experimentally I arrived at 10 or 11 for use with a Moccamaster (drip coffee). I use 6 grams of recently roasted beans per cup (125ml), equivalent to 48 grams per liter.
Using the spoon really worked. I tried this and had almost no static. Great tip.

Anyone else having the bean hopper jam up frequently? Experiencing this issue on fine and coarse settings
Same problem! It is really annoying. I definitely would not recommend this grinder.
Sounds stupid but I appreciate you mentioning to unplug the grinder.
I almost lost a finger many years ago because I didn’t .
easy mistake
thanks, helpfull!
My Solis was very inconsistent. I used the FINEST setting with 23g - I ended up with 16g FINE and 7g COARSE

@@tonyz376 thank you!
which setting for moka pot?
how does this compare to the timemore c2? I own the encore, infinity, and timemore and the timemore is the best imo.
