I bought this nail gun as we were planning to renew all the fencing in our back garden. As this involved 19 double slatted fence panels, 10 of which needed to be cut down in size, we knew there would be a need for a great ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt deal of re-stapling the wooden slats to the wooden framework. Each alteration required the re-stapling of 62 wooden slats with double staples. Prior to starting the work we ordered sufficient additional staples as per the instructions with the gun.The gun performed fantastically throughout the entire project with no jams of misfires. The adjustable power was excellent allowing the staples to be fired into the 8mm slats to the correct depth. For the price paid this was a bargain and it proved itself to be so reliable and versatile making an arduous task much quicker and professional. I cannot recommend this product highly enough and it will be used on many other projects in the future.
I like paslode a lot I have every nail gun they make. I have used them for the last 20 years I have no complaints I can’t wait to buy this one. Thanks for the video.
I work for Ace Tool in Wantagh NY if you're ever in the area swing by. This video reminded me of the new Grex nailers they use a very small propane gas canister combined with two AA batteries. Probably the latest battery system I've seen yet. The propane never expires like the Paslode gas and you get 30,000 shots per charge
Probably the best Ryan’s ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans on building a shed is hardly ever found. And Ryan takes the mystery out of different types of foundation options, etc. He even shows how to build a shed with different designs. Very comprehensive, covering different roofing materials, siding, etc.
Is all about how good you are to do the work you capacities as a carpenter and I like the way you explain about the tools and the good thing is you as a contractor or good carpenter have access to buy and try any tools and I can see you have almost any brand of tools to use not many carpenters have the access to try all those tools , any how thanks for all the explanations about the tools .
Pasload has been around forever. I’m 57, and my dad was using Pasload when I in my early teens. They used to have trucks go around to construction sites in Okc, Norman and Moore Oklahoma. I don’t really see that from them now, but there was always a shop close somewhere
One thing to remember for those that may not use a fuel cell for a few years is that they have a shelf life. I pulled out my framing gun and it wouldn't fire. Tech support said put in a new cell that was recently purchased. Worked fine.
I heard about these on some ad somewhere, and it’s neat to hear someone’s take on them (and in the comments here!). I just found them neat due to how it’s basically potato-cannon driven. Makes me imagine some goofy starter fluid + barbecue igniter one…
We use a different ppn nailer in the UK and Europe.. called the ppni xi.. slightly bigger and different gas..but, a great gun .fast and reliable.. easy to use and clean.. it's a no brainer imho.. cheers.
The thing i don't like about the dewalt ppn is, it's difficult to see the point of the nail so i find myself nailing by braille. Also the gun needs to be almost perfectly straight to be able to push the plunger and shoot making it a pain when you are hanging from rafters or reaching from a ladder.
Awesome video! I was using a palm nailer and it's a nightmare because the nail moves around before the first hit and many times I drive the nail at the wrong angle sideways, but this seems like a much better option, thanks for the slow mo video, I couldn't figure out how the heck it finds the hole until you showed that clip. Also would love to see you make a video on the Paslode TetraGrip Siding Nailer.
I love my Bostitch F33PT PPN and Framer AIO. I just hate that they did not provide or make a case to keep your Contact's in or to keep just for nice storage. I have missed placed my PPN contact a few times to only find it a year later after I bought a replacement! FYI if you have not seen/used this nailer, you can swap out the contacts from Framer to PPN with a pinch, pull, and swapping nails. but like you said, pulling a hose and compressor out for a hand full of nails or just tripping on everything. I ended up getting the Paslode CFN325xp this past December and it is pretty awesome when I have just a few nails to send or when I am up on a ladder/roof. It took me a while to finally pull the trigger on the Paslode due to having to buy a fuel cell. the only issue I am finding is that when I am about to start a project and need some fuel cells, I can not find them instock at any Lowe's or HD. I can do Amazon but they are not same day or next day shipping. Thanks for the info and take care!
The Senco PPN pneumatic is great, much smaller than the Paslode. Nails are a third of the price of Paslode with gas, and you don't have to breathe the gas in!
Love my paslode framing nailer. Had one since 2002. Very excited to get thier positive placment nailer. However, im really disappointed that its only 1.5”. Engineers keep spec’ing 2.5”. PASLODE…..GET YOUR SCHITT TOGETHER. Hurry up. RR, thanks for the info on the Metabo. I wont be buying one now. I’ll stick with air.
But it wont shoot 2-1/2” nails for the double sheer toe nails. The Metabo will, but that is why the tip is more flush, Paslode tip sticks out and is pronounced more, because the magazine is not a deep.
I worked at a place repairing paslode nailers,,it is insane the abuse they'll take before failing ,,95 percent of the time it's the fan motor or the electronics board.
I like the pnumatic pasload ppn and it's metal tip vs just having the nail exposed. hopefully I can work this new gun into a job and get away from my compressor
Proprietary nails, or I can get them from a secondary manufacturer/supplier? Been several years since I used that brand, and the expense of the proprietary products needed for it annoyed me.
11:54 *Are those some of those Jobsite Rated* (NIOSH rated or whatever) *Electronic Hearing Protection thingamagigs?* I was contemplating getting some, and I’ve used something similar when shooting once and they were AMAZING. Of you have used any, what’s your take?
Paslode is decent but when it's cold outside and your butane is cold they are worthless. It has it's place but I'll stick to my pneumatic that is half the size and shoots all day everyday. If I'm only doing a few use a pliers to hold the nail because it does hurt like hell when you miss holding those tiny nails.
I love my Senco pneumatic PPN nailer its awesome. I would love a cordless ppn. That paslode gun looks very nice but two things I don’t love 1 - The fuel it stinks and the recharge time and added cost 2 - I really don’t like blow molded cases they are so bulky. Nowadays every vendor has a real case wether its packout, systainer, tstak, tough system, ridgid case. If every vendor now has a great framing nailer do we still need gas nailers. Lastly cleaning out a dirty paslode nailer after thousands of nails is not exactly a great time.
What recharge time are you referring to with the Paslode? There is no added cost like he said, that is part of COGS and therefore the client pays for it, ir doesn't cost you anything and if you do it right you make money on it through markup. The only thing I don't like, is it doesn't use the framing or trim fuel cells, which are standard off the shelf at every box store.
@@jeffshackleford3152 There is added cost if you are a homeowner using it and not a contractor. There has been like three or 4 types of paslode gases over the years this is annoying and the exhaust from the gun stinks.
@@FixitFred the discomfort from the exhaust is much less than the discomfort from the tennis elbow from slinging around a battery gun. I really enjoy your channel. I'm building my own pole barn shop myself with zero exp and take a ton of information from your channel. So thank you. However, I disagree with you charging the gas of this nailer to your customer. It's the cost of doing business. If it saves you time then that time is what should pay for the fuel.
Nah, major short falls with the Paslode. Less powerful than the battery nailers (rarely get through the native timber here in NZ), requires quite a lot of maintenance, fuel is relatively expensive (even if you pass the cost on to customer, it's just made your quote more expensive), misfires in cold weather. But the size and weight are definitely something to consider, good for trim nailers
I know it's a (probably spondored) tool review, but I still prefer a palm nailer for putting in hangers, honestly. It's just so much lighter & faster to go around with a pouch full of teco's and I don't have to worry about fitting a gun in a tight space and running out of gas or battery.
The main selling point for paslode is its weight and thats it, the weight. If you use different gas or nail that is not paslode, Itll misfire. Its really weak on hard wood and lvl too. This is why ive switch to hikoki/metabo.

Me too
They’ve got a paslode here in the U.K. for that. The IM35 GN. It fires from a coil as opposed to a strip.
Technically, the battery powers the ignition spark plus the cooling fan
I worked at a place repairing paslode nailers,,it is insane the abuse they'll take before failing ,,95 percent of the time it's the fan motor or the electronics board.
So true
Take it from an old-timer, finding the hole gets easier with experience. . .I can't actually remember the last time it was an issue.
If you get familiar with Asian made ones, finding the hole is always a bit harder. Quite a bit tighter and placement is key.

Been several years since I used that brand, and the expense of the proprietary products needed for it annoyed me.
Disappointed that it is only 1.5” and not 2.5”. Tons of hanger specs call for the longer nails and there aren’t many on the market.
That makes the Paslode an 'internal combustion engine' 🙂
I'm interested in this Paslode nailer.

Uh, Milwaukee has a cordless palm nailer in their M12 line.
Just watched your LIVE 👍
Are the nails available in HDG and SS ? .148 and .162 Diameter? Dang 1 1/2" only.
You to show the Innovation from the Machine for Wood and Metal Work. Interesting for Profi, for Hobby Worker a little to great. 😂
15:50 Given it’s basically a piston engine, now i want one to have an Odometer or hour meter lol
What’s the best budget cordless circular saw?
I have a 325xp, why not a replacement head for PPN use?
You are a bit late to the party over there Kyle , we have had them in the uk since around 2008😀
That one looks a lot sweeter than ours though
Had to like this video at the point you say "hard to find the hole"!😂
If you could mod it to use someone else’s propane/butane etc would be neat.
You could maybe even use an existing tank, but add a “port” to refill it with those butane things you refill lighters with.
Was hand baning hanger nails today lol
£737.98 in the UK 😮 … $938!!!!
do you have any issues with the gas not working when it's cold?
Yes If it’s super cold. Usually below optimal working conditions
What size hanger nails will this pasload gun take?
How about Milwaukee tools?
JUST THE TIP KYLE 😂
You have to have a visible tip to hit the hole
I do
Paslode should have reuse existing fuel same as framer
I use my palm nailer
👍👍👍👌
So just the tip goes in the hole?
Just the tip
When will it hit the market?
Question: how wide is it? Can you even nail the hanger to the joist?😂
Definitely
Alot of fellas on my site def cant see there tip!!
I'll stick with my Senco pneumatic.
hold on, can anyone tell me, can the Paslode cordless framming gun shoot 2 1/2 in nails? thanks guys
Yep, use them regularly in the Paslode framer for fence palings.
can't shoot 2-1/2 inch nails, Paslode forgot to make a wider magazine
500$ plus a gas subscription... I'd probably get Milwaukee cordless palm nailer. But really I would prefer DeWalt make a palm nailer

they make battery powered palm nailers

nope. its apart of necessary material. It gets factored in with fasteners/nails needed for the job

Holes, big tips, what am I watching?
It doesn’t shoot 2-1/2….
