Hi chuck, when i saw your vid back in July 2019, i was studying CCNP for a couple of month/years! It was the kick in my ass and a sign to to hurry up...8 months later 11.February 2020 i've done the Tshoot and was CCNP...!!! on the 25.February i receive my CCNP Enterprise and the Specialist Certs! Chuck thanks so much for your mental support and the motivation speech that i get from your vid! Cheers Bro (Raffa from Switzerland)
Nice video. Nowadays it is so hard to study with lots of distractions around but whenever I see your videos and can see your enthusiasm in networking and certifications, I can get the same energy and inspire me to do the same ❤️
You just revealed the opportunity for people looking for an opportunity in the networking field similar to the opportunity we had back in late 90s in the networking. Thanks much
Hey Chuck just wanted to say thank you!!! Got my ccent last week after using the study materials you suggested. Studied for 4 months did not feel ready quite ready for the exam but i had it scheduled, showed up and took it and now I have my ccent working on that ccna before it gets changed in February.
Great information and not having any restrictions on the CCNP it really has me pumped. Its crazy to think of where your channel was just a few short years ago till now. Keep up the great work man!
I had just started studying for the Route exam when I heard about the changes. Figured I might as well wait until new exams start. I don't think I can pass all 3 exams by Feb. Now with a change at work. We are switch from a 100% Cisco to 100% Meraki. I'm thinking of looking into their exams when they come out in the fall. After that then switch back to CCNP plans. Thanks for your video. Now I have a better understanding of the changes and why they were made.
After watching this I think that I am one of those that are very excited about it... I did the CCNA many years ago and was working towards recertification, but illness got in the way and I couldn't do it before the course changed, but now I'm thinking what a blessing because now I can look at the CCNP route and choose the flavour of professional that I want to be, what I'm interested in and that's so much more interesting than having to study something because that's what you have to do to get the qualification, I can be individual at the specialist level, but still have that core knowledge required... AWESOME!!!
Dude great video, just subscribed. Got out of the Navy after 8 yrs then worked oilfield then laid off due to Covid. Getting a reboot into IT and going for my CCNP. Thanks again man, your videos are GOLD!
I've been in Cisco networking since 2013. I need to get my CCNP finally! I've been doing NP and IE-level work for years already LOL. This video has been amazingly helpful. Thanks Chuck!
Thanks man, appreciate the info and answered a lot of the questions I had in my head. The fact that I don't have to go back and get my CCNA, which I let expire when I went to a mostly Juniper shop, makes me want to go back to working on the Cisco tracks along with continuing building my knowledge in general.
Hmmm ok you have gotten me interested in taking Cisco exams :) doing cisco base projects for over 15 years so thank you Network Chuck ;) you are really enthusiastic 👍
I absolutely love how passionate and enthusiastic you are for these technologies and topics. You inspire and invigorate me to build the mindset that it is possible. With hardwork, actual hard work it is all possible. With that being said i have to admit, I struggle with myself. Always feeling that i'll never be adequate enough. What i mean by that is, I get lost in a haze of the all encompassing world of these different technologies and certifications and paths to take... I'm ultimately hoping that the path im on now will lead to a job i love and can make a living from. It sometimes seems like just a pipe dream. But in the meantime, the present day I know that i just gotta stay focused. It all just seems so out of reach sometimes. i might've went a little deeper in this comment then i should have... but I thank you for your enthusiasm and passion; it helps so much.
Hey Chuck, i passed my ICND1 yesterday with 919/832 and just wanted to thank you for your recommendation of ressources aswell as motivational videos which both helped me alot. now on to the next one!
Hey Chuck! I'm working on my CCNP actually. After that, I'll take a break then go for the automation track. Maybe after I'll dive into the Collaboration World. I'm always fascinated by those devices in the background. ^^ The video's length is good by the way. Keep on inspiring and motivate us.
Thank you for the feedback Yuri! I always worry about the video length...I sometimes drone on a bit. Collaboration is a fun one. I think I might know a guy who is producing training for those courses ;)
You convinced me to re certify my CCNP R&S before the cutoff date (passed the ARCH 300-320 so I guess I'll end up having an extra specialist certification I wasn't expecting). Brilliant content - clear and explained the migration path well!
Very great and informative video. Did CCNA a long time and i can't contemplate going over it again before doing CCNP. Now this is great news for me. I am diving right into it. Just printed out the exam topics for Automation. I am searching the topics through the net while i wait for the official study materials. Really chasing this one. Thanks a lot
A lot of important questions answered here in your video that was floating around in my head, especially the Security path, now I understand this a lot better. Thank you for the clear and concise video Chuck!
When the new CCNP test came out (current version in 2019) I crushed all 3 of them. I moved up fast to the engineer level. Fast forward 3 years later with much design, config and install experience. I failed the Switch test to recert. I studied my a$$ off. Clearly I know more about route-switch now with my advanced experience in the field. Got a feeling it will be the case with the new test. Testing is one thing. Actually installing in live production environment, with a makes sense logical manor are two different things.

Thank you Chuck for this video! I hope one day to become as great in the field and learn as much as where you are now. You truly inspire me. Awesome video!
Good one! I have just confirmed I made the right the decision to keep myself studying to take the #CCNP certs before February 2020.... Cant wait to go for the others! so many paths to go through....
Should be done with CCNP Collaboration by the end of the summer. Fingers crossed. I'm most looking forward to the new, "Automating Cisco Collaboration Solutions" exam in February. I've been boning up on my programming skills every since they announced it. Should be fun!
My whole cert strategy has changed with the Jun 2019 announcement. I did have a CCNA R&S, but it lapsed and wasn't looking forward to retake that in order to get CCNP. Now, I'm willing to wait it out for Feb 2020 to save money and be more motivated, although I'm currently hung up between CCNP and DEVASC. BTW, I'm very skilled in Python with a CS degree.
Network Chuck, I have subscribed. I want to get into the I.T. field, and you were informative and straight to the point. Looking forward to your other videos (this was my first one)
Very nice video I am in the middle of going to ccnp after your video I’ll book my first exam route here we go !! Definitely going for automation when the time comes
my CCNA and CCNP expired in 2015. I was one of the people who did not rely on dumps having a Computer Science background. I was thinking of getting dumps and getting CCNP quickly again but I think that is cowards way. I am going to wait for the new revision. I started learning python a while ago to do some tasks myself. Good luck everyone and if you are new in the field, I would totally recommend getting your CCNP quickly with the help of dumps.
Hi Chuck, thanks for the very informative video. You are getting me pumped to go for these exams. My CCNA has lapsed and I think I'll wait for the updated exams and go straight for the tech core and automation specialization for CCNP.
Thanks, Chuck! Had the SWITCH exam down, couldn't get ROUTE out of the way before 2/23. Reviewing the CCNA before studying for ENCOR. One of the problems I've had with studying is that there's frequently subject matter gaps between what's published (Cough, Cisco Press) as the "official certification guide", and what's on the test, and for some exams (Collaboration), what's on the test is a bunch of material that's out of date (old revs of software) or version specific, and just rote memorization of things that, outside of having one in production, you have no access to the menu tree. Some of those just seemed to be schemes to have people attend Cisco classes at employer expense, which few of us can afford privately. Attempted the collab NA exam, once, and while the study material was mostly worth while, got disgusted at the exam's irrelevance to the skills necessary to do that role. I'm hoping that, like the goals of the new CCNA, that bringing the exams back to relevancy is in the works.
I’ve had a CCNA and went to CCSP when they had it. All my stuff is expired and the exact reason I don’t get any more certifications is because I have to go back and get my CCNA. I’ve been a network engineer 15 years now so I really don’t need any certifications but I would like to get a CCNP at times but having to start over pretty much ruins it for me. This may help people in my situation but for newcomers I highly suggest getting the CCNA first.
Same here.. CCNA R&S cert'd at Cisco Live in San Diego 4yrs ago, failed the CCNP by skin of my teeth right before NA exp'd. Been in networking for 20+yrs and don't really need it so not re-certifying anymore. On top of that the exams are far too expensive anymore.
Trent McKee Trent McKee interesting. Sounds familiar. One thing that does interest me is the new CCNA stuff with programming and SDN or whatever. What do you think about that path and where things seem to be headed? I’ve been working in Azure and designed a pretty cool redundant VPN solution between or HQ and DR site and kinda playing with Python a little. Kind of interested in the API stuff but kinda lost on it all as a whole lol. What do you think about that side of things?
I did my ccna in 2013 I've been trying to get my ccnp my ccna expired but now I think all I need is the knowledge of the new one I wasn;'t able to do ccnp in since 2013 had some hard times but this is amazing now without a ccna I can do ccnp or just go straight for CCIE that is amazing I love it the only reason I can't go for ccie though unless a company pay for it. But this is nice I am going for the CCNP now since I am at home and studying since this covid situation gives me a chance to do it.
Totally in the same ball park for me. Had R&S CCNA for ages but now i`ll just read some notes on the changes on the CCNA but study and take the CCNP. Makes much more sense.
@@stephenparrott2932 You know what's funny? I said that but just ordered my new CCNA books that will be here tomorrow. The only reason is because the 2nd book has all the updated material leading into automation and all that stuff which I'd like to get a start on. Since the COR book for CCNP security is delayed apparently, figured go ahead and get the CCNA stuff. Company pays anyway.
Glad you clarified about the renewal process. While watching this, I was digging through Cisco's website and stumbled upon their renewal policy. I think once I have CCNP R&S out of the way (switch is done, route coming soon and hopefully tshoot shortly after) I think I may dive straight into the Firepower/Cisco ISE specialty exams. May swing over and do automation as well. Still not 100%. Lot of material to cover.
When you said the CCNP is greater than a 4-year degree, you are probably right about that! I studied for seven months everyday for my CCNA and finally took the exam last night. I think the CCNA is equivalent to a 4-year degree. If not, it is equivalent to a 2-year associates degree. The amount of material in that is amazing! I can't wait to see what the CCNP is like. Do you need to get practical experience as a Cisco engineer first before getting a CCNP? Or I can study for it right now?
Haven’t had my CCNP since 2002 so now you can get a CCNP without the CCNA?? Wow! I’ve been out the cert game to long! going to start by getting some of chuck’s brand of coffee :)
Ohhhhhh....phat! I left a senior infrastructure delivery engineer position with an enterprise going to the cloud and pivoted to networking. I didn't want to write and debug code all day. Dang...well, counting down the 15 years to retirement. :)
I understand the skip in needing CCNA for CCNP, Im currently at CCNA, my next step is CCNP, its natural for me only having 4 years in industry to folow the ladder structure. My colleague however has ten + years XP and has had his CCNA expire years ago, but he's a more than capable CCNP and beyond engineer.. So this makes sense for him to go straight into CCNP, I think if any new network engineer skips CCNA and goes straight into CCNP they will stunt rather than grow their skillsets Im looking forward to getting stuck into 350-401 ENCOR as soon as the material is released here in the UK

When my CCNP expired, the main reason i didn’t renew was that it was a requirement to go all the way back and take the CCNA track all over again too. That never made sense to me and seemed like just a way for Cisco to make more money, so i never renewed. Now i can just take the CCNP and renew!
Currently I have a CCNA, as soon as I found out that they are changing the exam, I started studying for CCNP. Well back to my studies I go. Wish me luck
Great video. Lots of info of the certs. I was wondering about this. I had got CCNA back in 2008 and jumped around different careers. And maybe I'll look at ccnp now.

Incredible video, big fan! I am starting studying for my first CCNA RS for August and then study for my CCNA Security. I would love to get CCNP before Febraury 2020 but I think it's going to be really hard to do that.
Oh I found my best approach on Cisco’s “CCNP Routing & Switching Migration Tool” page... pass ROUTE 300-101 and SWITCH 300-115 before 2/24, then I can take ENAUTO 300-435 after 2/23 for the CCNP Enterprise plus the DevNet cert. That would take some of the heat off since I won’t need to take TSHOOT before 2/24.
Hello Mark, Could you please suggest as I think I'm also somewhere stuck like this.. I got my ROUTE and SWITCH last year 2019, and now I am thinking to prepare for SDWAN ENSDWI, Do I need to pass encor exam first here??
About the green screen when drawing - you can just use a black BG and select the "screen" blending mode when overlaying the videos. It's usually cleaner than chrome-keying because it relies on simple math with the absolute black. Maybe you already changed it up since a year ago but I thought I'd drop this just in case ☺️
Its great to see your videos. I believe there are many to take from your videos and keep it up. My personal comment is better if you can make the videos smaller in size.
I'm in need of some direction. I'm currently working on CCENT and planning on knocking out my CCNA by the cutoff date 2/20. Should I just stop, and start studying for my CCNP(future goal)? Awesome videos and appreciate all the help and information!!
Ugh. I already have expiring vouchers for RHCSA (October) and CCNA Security (November) and now you're convincing me to cram ROUTE, SWITCH & TSHOOT classes this Fall Semester at the local community college...#gottacatchemall

DUDE!!!! your wallpaper is a picture of my house!
Thanks, you are changing lifes with all this information!
That mic just sounds soooooooooo good!
Alright... It's Thanksgiving 2019. I am going to be CCNP R&S certified by Feb 2020. 8 Weeks to go from 0- Hero.
Let's go crazy!
Literally editing a video about this right now! This one's for you!
@@NetworkChuck where can I get ccnp information asap so that I can pass the exam by Feb?
Haven’t had my CCNP since 2002 so now you can get a CCNP without the CCNA?? Wow! I’ve been out the cert game to long! going to start by getting some of chuck’s brand of coffee :)
Ohhhhhh....phat! I left a senior infrastructure delivery engineer position with an enterprise going to the cloud and pivoted to networking. I didn't want to write and debug code all day. Dang...well, counting down the 15 years to retirement. :)
You are a great inspiration! Can you please do a video on your whole coffee setup and why you chose it etc?
You are A Networking GURU!
Haha, thanks.
Haven’t clicked so quick in a while.
Thank You for the video Chuck! You just solved a lot of doubts in my mind according to these certifications. Best regards Bro!
So this makes sense for him to go straight into CCNP, I think if any new network engineer skips CCNA and goes straight into CCNP they will stunt rather than grow their skillsets
Im looking forward to getting stuck into 350-401 ENCOR as soon as the material is released here in the UK
'I don't have a degree and I've been a network engineer......' This quote right here tells me I've wasted my life doing nothing.
except when you want to become an it manager you dont get that position unless you have a degree. So there is that.

These comment have been very helpful in my quest to find another career that will satisfy my need for learning and my love of technology.
Right there with you started studying for CCNP route last week hoping I can make it before 6-7 months
That DO double and LBC went over their heads 🤣 he had to spell it out.
lol sure did
Your video is so good. Congrats Chuck!!
Thank you Wallace!
Thank YOUUUUUUUUU! This was so informative and helpful
thank you for the explanation and you brought all my network heros and that was awesome!
JUST GOT MY CCNA!!!! Wooooo!!
Just got my ccna r&s. Going for the new ccnp
Nice conceptual view of the change... I heard/read on the chg and was a little confused @ 1st... Thanks for the bigger picture and persona💸
Great video. Lots of info of the certs. I was wondering about this. I had got CCNA back in 2008 and jumped around different careers. And maybe I'll look at ccnp now.
Thanks, NetworkChuck. Love this insight into CCNP
Haha “D O double G and LBC” had me cracking
I feel like the reference was lost on Chuck, but I lost it haha. So random 🤣
@@StayTrue1989 Lol, honestly it took me a bit to get it, I cut out the part where David and I laughed though.
NetworkChuck he slipped it in there so smooth
NetworkChuck great interviews and videos btw. Very helpful and entertaining to watch your vids. Currently training for ccna
@@NetworkChuck Pretty awesome to see he has a sense of humor about all the acronyms. We have more than enough super serious I.T. folks, bring on the silly shit 🤣🤘
I love coffee, networking and IT!!
Thanks as always for all thi valuable information, directly from the source people! Cheers mate! :)
Perfect video -- That cleared all my quereis.. Thanks a ton..
Great Video! Tons of useful info!! Thank you!!
How many times you spilled that coffee during that video? lol
Incredible video, big fan! I am starting studying for my first CCNA RS for August and then study for my CCNA Security. I would love to get CCNP before Febraury 2020 but I think it's going to be really hard to do that.
Dude loves coffee. It's comin' out the beard!
Hello Mark,
Could you please suggest as I think I'm also somewhere stuck like this..
Maybe you already changed it up since a year ago but I thought I'd drop this just in case ☺️
got my original ccnp in 2015. expired n 2018. super exited to re-certify in 2020 these next gen certs look the way of the future
Its great to see your videos. I believe there are many to take from your videos and keep it up. My personal comment is better if you can make the videos smaller in size.
Did you just made a video based on my comment from your other video? That's good
This is way too overwhelming, but you video is a great help.
Great advice, I also recommend getting the current CCNP before the new one! I made a video describing how I got mine, for anyone interested.
Jeremy's IT Lab share the link
I'm in need of some direction. I'm currently working on CCENT and planning on knocking out my CCNA by the cutoff date 2/20. Should I just stop, and start studying for my CCNP(future goal)?
Awesome videos and appreciate all the help and information!!
I am excited about network automation.. I will surely go in that line... But my friend said the loc market for network automation is very poor for now
Did anyone notice the guy wearing two watches haha Awesome stuff Chuck
love your videos chuck!!
I am learning general stuff from Cisco CCNA routing and switching but once I get done with that my major interest is VoIP track or specialty
Very informative! Thank you Chuck
Me reading the thumbnail:
"In get 2020 your ccnp"
Very well explained chuck . I am gonna prepare for ENCOR. Whoelse with the same plan
Wow! you got to meet David Bombal, cool! I wish I would have seen you guys at Live!
Goddamn, the year is almost over. Wish I had seen this when it came out.
Same.

Ugh. I already have expiring vouchers for RHCSA (October) and CCNA Security (November) and now you're convincing me to cram ROUTE, SWITCH & TSHOOT classes this Fall Semester at the local community college...#gottacatchemall
The fact your local community college offers the CCNP courses & Netacad is pretty awesome. Mine has just the CCNA R&S
Nice video. I recently got my ccna R&S and I am trying to get the ccnp before 23/02/2020
Thank you so much , this video was really use full for me.
