I've wondered about that myself. After studying him interacting with a lot of people I think I've noticed what he does. A lot of the time he does these "uhhh" type of pauses. When he does that he's got like a rolodex of words and things going through his mind and he picks what he thinks are the funniest words to apply to the situation. He's pretty fast at it. Just my opinion, but I think that's the technique to his talent. I also think Brendan's picked that up from him. Notice how much funnier Brendan's gotten since they started doing KATS together?

I like your rolodex analogy, because a rolodex is finite, not extremely extensive and contains basic but very accurate information. I feel like Theo allows his analyses to happen in his subconscious. I think that is possible because of his confidence and relaxed attitude. Perhaps in an absence of the pervasive anxiety normal people feel in stressful or even normal situations one can really allow themselves to be honest and the funniest and most real version of themselves.
