Oh wow thats not good. It shouldnt go bad that fast. Sorry to hear that just replace or return for more commercial option if you are going to use daily for that type of work.
Other review pages show people complaining there is NO filter on the exhaust and it blows dust particles and debris right back out of the exhaust? Any feedback on that issue?
You shouldn't have an issue unless the filter is loose, broken or full. That's why I like to use the bags so you get that extra layer of protection. When you use the bags the filter has a longer life span. Also depending on what you are vacuuming if its fine particles I would recommend getting a better filer that filters finer particles. I believe it comes with a white filter if you get the blue or green its suppose to filter better. I also increase the hose diameter to get more suction out of it. Thank you
Good review. Would be good to know whether the 1 1/4" hose can attach to common woodworking tools, or if the purported Stanley 08-2566BP HEPA filter is in fact the compatible HEPA filter, as Craftsman does not make one for this model.
Hello thank you I believe there are some adapters you can use on the hose end. You would need to know what dimensions are the tools that you will be using. You can always replace the hose to a thicker one for a bit more suction. Love the fact its quiet and compact.
The 08-2566BP is indeed the correct HEPA filter for this model. The model comes equipped with the 08-2566B which is the non HEPA version of the cartridge filter. Alton industries manufactures these along with the DeWalt Stealth Sonics. This Craftsman is essentially a rebranded Stanley. The Stanley filters will definitely work.
I purchased this vac to clean my basement. The directions it came with said to use the foam filter and the white filter over it for dry pickup. I also bought extra bags, which I intend to use. Do I need the foam filter and the white filter? I worry about straining the motor. Also, do you know how much wattage this vacuum uses? I haven't started this dreaded task yet.😞
Hello the foam filter is designed to use for water applications only. In case you need to pickup water you would remove the bag and the white filter then install the foam one. Once you use the bad then your filter wont get dirty unless the bag breaks. I love using the bag so the filter last a long time. You can even reuse the bags because they can get expensive or buy them generic on Amazon amzn.to/45t5UQ9 The vacuum is 8 amps and aprox 960 watts. Thank you
I did get this same vac before I watched your video and my biggest gripe has to be the hose that comes with it. The 5ft length is too short and as you showed, the 1 1/4 diameter is too small. The 1 7/8 hose you were using toward the end, where did that come from? I ask because I would like to get one to try it out.
Hello the 1 7/8 hose is from my other 8 Gallon Craftsman shop vac from the video I used. Its a good hose but not sure if its sold separate. You can do some research on Amazon to see if there is one you can us or maybe at Lowes too. thank you
Hello you dont need a kit. You would just buy the entire hose in the 1 7/8 and will plug into the same port which I believe is a 2 1/2. You have a easy lock style clip for the vacuum side but if you buy a hose that doesnt have the easy lock a standard one will fit on it also. Some hose kits come with different endcap sizes and will fit most shopvacs. Hopes this helps
Is there a problem with the one I bought I bought this one but there is a burning smell coming form the blower but not sure if it’s because it’s new or I have a defective one please help me am also using a 10 foot hose with it not sure if that as anything to do with the smell
Hello there should not be any smell coming out of it. the hose doesnt matter the length. I have a 5 gallon one on the wall with 35 ft of hose and its a Craftsman. Send it back under warranty. thanks
Hello you dont have to empty the bag for every use unless you are vacuuming and excessive amount of debris. I empty out the bags and reuse them once a few months or depending on the use. Thank you
Hello yes you can wash it. I have been washing my filters for years. If you use the collection bag you wont need to clean it as often. There is also a cover you can buy to keep it clean if you dont want to use the bag. thank you amzn.to/45t5UQ9
Hello I have not had any issues on this one. Make sure your filter is in correctly and is not damaged. I also like to use a collection bag along with the filter to keep the filter cleaner longer. Now sometimes the collection bags tear from moisture or from reusing it too many times. If your filter is in all the way and doesnt have any tears there is no reason why you should be getting dust. Oh make sure you are not just using the foam filter that is for water collection only. thanks hope it helps
Very helpful and detailed...best video on this vac-THANKS! Would like to see install of bag.
Fantastic video. All I needed thanks

Great review I think I need a bigger one for my shop since I have a few tools. thanks
Glad to help
I purchased one yesterday and used it to manage drywall dust. It died in under two hours after cleaning the filter multiple times.

Any DeWalt Stealth Sonic hose/accessory should work.
I don't see the link to the muffler/diffuser 🤔
Hello here you go. I added to the list also. thank you amzn.to/3zlLzAJ
Is there a kit to convert to a 1 7/8 hose size?

Do I need to clean the filter once I pick up wet items?
Hello I would. If you leave a wet filter it will smell bad.

Do you have to keep replacing the dust bags after each use or can you empty them?

Can I wash the white filter ? So I can keep reusing it after some uses or do I need to buy another one when it gets dirty

Do you have issues with the rear blower? When I used the vacuum, it blown out dust everywhere. Any tips to fix that issue I would appreciate it.
