Thanks for checking out the video guys, hopefully you found this useful. Next up I'll be making the biggest most in depth guide I can like the massive mistlands one I did.
Dwarves casually deciding to live in the hardest places to live. Like bro do yall not realize there is a place thats lush green and only filled with greylings
I love how my entrance into the ashlands was greeted by two bonemaw serpents back-to-back. By the time they were beaten, it was night, and with barely any visibility I had my wisplight to do an emergency portal home. Those rock spirals are the mvp of landfall attempts.
I love the entrance to ashlands, I was also greeted by 2 bonemaws. Boat got almost destroyed, never clicked so fast and hard to put down a workbench to repair it
Dudeee I got SWARMED when I first landed, there were like 2 spawners and a bunch of random lava blobs. I had 1 hp at some point. Crazy first experience.
Another SUPER polished video, succinct and thorough info with smooth flow and cadence. This is the best video out there giving people a solid preview but not dragging on. Great job again, Nick. Love it!!
I just started a new Play through with my mates (2 of whom had never played, and one with about 30 hours) a week ago. We only just got to the swamp and looking forward to the ashlands.
Love reading about how everyone had a crazy time landing on the Ashlands. It was the same for me and my friends, tons of spawners and a it was a huge battle
The update changed already explored parts of the map. The ground has been lowered about 10 or sometimes 20 meters which makes the rocks in the mistlands fly together with my ml-base. So glad i buildt it on a rock but now it's useless anyways. This was not executed as good as the previous updates. But I like my new ocean/blackforrest-biome, a blackforrest which i can sail threw 😄
I might wuss out and go to Ashlands the first time with monsters on passive. Haha, I know it's heresy. I can turn it back to aggressive when I get a foot hold. I'll play it for real on an alt server in a future time.
Nahnahnah I've been doing my whole playthrough on passive critters. It's not wussy! Or if it is, I don't care! It's so much nicer, especially as someone who likes to build and explore more than fight. It's fantastic to be able to *choose* when I want to pick a fight, when I'm prepared to do so. And also chopping wood/mining without having to swat away greylings/greydwarfs every 10 friggin seconds. I *_get_* the aggressive mobs, but it becomes so tiresome. It also makes learning how to approach this or that mob much easier, as opposed to being swamped by a group of multiple kinds of critters. I also very much enjoy not seeing my builds I spend hours on and 10x that farming for, being smashed up by trolls lol even stone walls don't hold them back long especially if they're star spawns So yeah, from one passive-mob-preferer to another, you do you it's your game, play it how ya want
@@ErinKurbes I stopped playing once after spending more time trying to prevent and recover from raids than advancing. Then I turned off raids for a few days, built 2 unraidable bases, a few earth platforms for wolf raids, and turned raids back up to default. I love how much control we get in this game. $20 full price is so low for all that.
Damn it’s really hard. Me and a friend fought valiantly for over half an hour but enemies never went away and eventually both died and portal destroyed. Kinda think it’s a little over populated right now
i landed on the ashlans, was rushed by wave after not stop wave of the toughest shit id ever seen and died, that was the story of me, it took me back to the early days when i accidently entered the plains for the 1st time and found out what a deathsquito is and dose
Hey nick i have an idea for a series (dont know if you want to make it but anyway). Basically make raids happen a lot more from the settings of a world and then make a mod where a completely random raid can happen(like the draugr event)and you must fight it. Dont know of its gonna be entertaining but i thought i was a good idea
My friend and I brute force our way through the ashlands without realizing that we needed to craft a drakkar in order to get through ashlands xD. Made it more epic by barely landing the longship after burning and getting attacked by bonemaws on the ashland shores xD
@@CizzuCizzu So long as you haven't explored the area where the Ashlands is located (bottom of the map), you'll be fine. if you've extensively explored the bottom of the map already, I suggest starting a new game.
I assume we still need to start a new seed to see the new lands, or at least not have been within some distance of the new lands on existing maps? I struggle to start a new map after spending 300+ hours on my base, so for Mistlands had to go find a new seed to gather materials to bring back to my main base, which kind of kills some of the fun for me.
If you haven't encountered ashlands on your save you're good. Anything in fog of war will be regenerated so don't sweat it. I had like 150hrs in my save and had no issues converting to ashlands
Are the new weapons all from the ashlands or are they spread out throughout the game? I feel like early game is lacking some cool weapons like a magic staff.
the only thing is that it basically requires a magic build, which is something i dont really enjoy, i prefer sword shield and bow. melee builds are far less viable in ashlands because of how many enemies there are and how much damage they deal
I dont agree at all, because theres so much enemys, having really few HP and only barrier, isnt good. Its way better to have 3 HP meals and go melee, i prefer light armor because of bonus set and the fact that it doesnt slow you, which is imo the key, you want to be fast
I don't know about that, magic makes you a glass cannon so one wrong move and you're done. I'd argue the frost arrow meta persists, ranged is still the best method, especially for clearing forts. Melee is also viable, you just need to prioritize health foods, and block and/or dodge very carefully. Every playstyle is viable, but its pretty difficult no matter what you do.
@dericksassmen8556 ahhh crap. It had been a while since I even played... Ill look into it, I thought a new world meant new character. I haven't played since before "pause" was finally implemented.

Thanks for the primer for Ashlands.

Same bro I died before I could even set up a portal though so I had to load a previous save and try again haha
For anyone reading, find jade and make its staff. Get your magic user to use it always and upgrade it.
8:28 I was setting up a greydwarf xp farm and this raid happened, so I turned the charred spawners into more farms xD

honestly can't blame you - I nearly burnt out in my first run to ashlands

Great video as always Nick. Glad we got some content! This is awesome!

I hope we can unlock a last finals bilme if you have all trophies. So a portal or sometjing opens and you go in a skyworld or dungeon like underwormd
we need an ashlands only challenge. If its possible of course.
Lol that cannon shoot was funny af 😂
I haven’t watched anyone else’s ashlands content. I wanted to wait for you to put stuff out. I know you needed a pc so I’m happy your back
great update, I've still not rushed through my play through to get past mistlands just yet,

Any word when the Xbox stuff for the update will be fixed?
What's the issue?
@AwakeTheSheep apparently they are having a hard time uploading the update to the Microsoft, xbox version. According to the blog update

I'm going back in !
Me too, as an old lady of course in peaceful mode!!
I haven't done Ashlands content but the wrong weapon is very clearly being used in that fight. That decision is everything in this game.
First landing was obscured by the 7 voltures rushing me
I wonder if they worked on the structural stability at all.
the deathsquito experience all over again lol
Looks awesome, would love more npc and pvp related features in the future updates for sure
cant wait to get into the ashlands just got into mistlands!
so does the Ashlands update also work in old saved games?

Thank you for the video it's great
we are so back
Ok, i comeing to game, was w8 that this zone comes out. Finally!
great video, very helpful thanks
Everything in this update just reminds me of Caelid from Elden ring and I love it.
I wonder if a all ashlands run is possible.....
The camera change is great, I love that❤

You get better gear and weapons in every biome ^_^
Do the flametal ore structures respawn?

Everytime I try to start my World it just says
Valheim.exe not responding
Can someone help?
does anyone know if you can find ashlands on old worlds? or if you NEED to make a new world?
think that depends if you've discovered the entire map or not.
I started a fresh new game, new map. For some reason all my gear from a different game is on me. Is that part of the update? Or some weird bug?
Must used same character?
@dericksassmen8556 ahhh crap. It had been a while since I even played... Ill look into it, I thought a new world meant new character. I haven't played since before "pause" was finally implemented.
ashlands is brutal
When does it come out for consoles?
This isn't on xbox yet right?
Never toss a Dwarf.
I'm just annoyed because it's not coming to Xbox for a while even though there was no notifications or news that it would not be coming the Xbox.
Dude it’s just Microsoft being Microsoft, it’ll be here in a few days relax.
Anyone know y it's not out on xbox yet
Go now 👍🏻
Hear me out .This might be painful but what about a speedrun where you can only use stakes as your wepons with no build restrictions.
love that I can just get boiled alive now lol
Bruh where are the new armors?!
Anybody know the current max level black forge?
5.
Can't wait to boot up the server!!
So they didn't improve magic, especially the shitty skeletons that get stuck in every rock?
awesome ! one and a half years of waiting for 5 days of content that gets repetetive instantly.
lets wait another year or two 😂
Players, "WE NEED MORE BIOMES"
Devs, Ashes to Ashes Dust to Dust, swoosh goes the scythe, LET ME IN!!!!!
So no daggers, really?
This boss buff should be moved to earlier boss.
NICK PLS MAKE A "BEATING VALHEIM IN REVERSE 2/ REMAKE" I BEG YOU 😭😭😭😭
nice video.
Not out on xbox one... been looking all day and seeing about updates
Allegedly from what others I’ve seen possibly fixed by Friday?
Solid vid
NEVER move your back to lava. I been knocked back into lava so many times its not funny.
Fucking iron gate cant give the update to microsoft store i dont want to wait another week
Hi please halp me me icant find bass fight number 5 please help me
Good
Love it
As Mr. Bean expressed it so eloquently; "Be afraid! Be VERY afraid!" I'm scared...
And after all this waiting, it was underwheling af. Sure it looks neat as always but the enemies are boring and copy-paste garbage.
And it runs horribly.
Tbh Ashlands was a fail for me, too difficult and no quality of life items and buffs
The most stupid biome
Boring update rework skills let us get a small tallent tree like old lol or wow
Does the update reset the server I’m on and my progress? (On Xbox)
