    Everything you said was 100% spot on.
    1. Cool environment
    2. Keep your shoes away from light. Light can also cause some materials to fade
    3. Make sure shoes are getting a balance between moisture and air. Silica packets just dry out the midsoles and too much moisture can cause the midsoles to deteriorate as well
    4. Make sure you wear your sneakers every once in a while, or at least try them on and wear them around the house so they get used to the pressure.
    Editing is getting better too. Keep it up, DJ!

    Delz had a good idea if you plan on wearing them years down the line. Rock them around your house for at least a half hour so the paint on the midsole doesn’t crack from the stress of sitting for years and then expanding from the pressure of your foot and weight.

    Should put a disclaimer that the good tips you gave only work in a location with the same climate as yours. I live in a very humid country, year-round 75-80% humidity and temperatures of 29-32° Celsius / 84-90°F. Them silica gel packs are a must to absorb the extra moisture from the humid weather.

      I've lost a Nike Air Max 97 Silver Bullet pair from 1998. It was brand new, never worn. It turned yellow in 10 years, then started to crumble around 2013, and today the base has fallen off completely. They were stored in a cool and dark room. It doesn't work.
      I wish I had experimented with vacuum bags.

    • @codygameing4729
      @codygameing4729 Рік тому +2

      Well if yellowing is cause by oxidation theoretically wrapping them and cutting off O2 can potentially slow that process down significantly.

    • @DexterHeisenbergBruh
      @DexterHeisenbergBruh Рік тому +6

      From what I understand, oxidation (exposure to air) causes yellowing. If you prevent contact with oxygen (such as wrapping) it slows or prevents yellowing. But the problem is, if a shoe does not get enough oxygen, it dries out faster and can crumble. So the best method is trying to be balanced.

    Silica gel helps keep moisture down not completely out of the box and it is good to have them to prevent moisture which we all know is the breeding ground for fungus and bacteria + bad odor especially on used shoes. I'd say air them out ones a month if you wear them and do not close the holes let the shoes breathe, i had no dust issues and if there was? probably 5%....Until someone can prove that Silica Gel deteriorates the shoes i'd keep one at least for your health.

    I don't understand. I live in Manchester. In the last 2 years, lots of these trainer shops have popped up that sell trainers shrink wrapped that costs many hundreds of pounds. I don't understand what this is.
    Are you supposed to wear them with the shrink wrapping on?
    Are you supposed to remove it?
    Do they costs hundreds of pounds extra because of the shrink wrapping?
    Are you supposed to use the shrink wrapping at home?
    Are you not supposed to wear the shoes?

    hey bro i just ordered some NikeSB FTC Sento dunk low. they have a icy bottom and i heard theres some stuff u can put on it. what is it called? ive also seen people use that spray stuff so rain and stuff just wipes off. i guess if u coat the shoe enough with it that it will protect it and u could wipe it down every so often and give it a new layer. maybe that will keep the good look on them and preserve them.
