I wanted to bake these so I decided to write down the method since there are only the ingredients in the description. So here ya go lovelies! (I know I probably spelt some things wrong but I tried at least. Heh.) 1) Add 90g of plain flour, 100g Caster Sugar, 25g light brown sugar, ½ tsp of baking powder ½ tsp of salt, 25g of sprinkles 40g of Sunflower oil, 1 tsp of vanilla extract to the bowl then mix together until it forms crumbs. 2) Pour onto greaseproof paper, then put into the oven for 10 minutes at 170*C until it’s golden. 3) Add 125g of soft, unsalted butter, 100g Caster Sugar, 25g light brown sugar, 125g Self-Raising flour, ¼ tsp of Bicarbonate of Soda, ¼ tsp salt, 75g of chocolate chips, 30g Sprinkles and 2 large eggs to the bowl. 4) Beat the mixture for 30 seconds with an electric whisk on a high setting. 5) After the 30 seconds, pour in 1 tsp of Vanilla Extract then continue whisking for another 30 seconds. 6) Separate the mixture into cupcake cases (preferably using 2 spoons or a scoop). 7) Bake in the oven for 18-20 minutes at the same temperature as the crumbs and take out the crumbs as well, then leave them to cool. 8) Add 225g of soft, unsalted butter and then whip with an electric whisk at a high speed for 5 minutes so it’s white and fluffy. 9) Sift your 400g of icing sugar then add half of that to the bowl then continue to whisk at a slower speed for 3-5 minutes. After those minutes, add the rest of the icing sugar. 10) After that, get 60g of plain flour, put it onto a greaseproof paper then put it into the oven for 10 minutes to kill the bacteria. 11) Once you’ve done that, add that to the bowl with a pinch of salt and 1 tsp of Vanilla Extract then begin whisking at a slow speed. 12) Whilst it’s whisking pour 3 tbsp of milk slowly and then whisk at a higher speed for 3 minutes. 13) Once your cupcakes have been taken out of the oven and cooled down as well as the pie crumb, add some sprinkles to your buttercream and gently stir them through. 14) Then, pour your buttercream into a piper and begin piping your cupcakes. 16) Once they’re piped, add your pie crumb to the top of the cupcakes to decorate them. Wallah, you’re done!

During this lockdown I have been able to continue my passion for baking . And this channel is just perfect for me because there are so many amazing recipes with ingredients you can find in your cupboard. And what’s even better is that the measurements are in grams ! I definitely will add this to my list on what to bake next !

I think there are some tutorials online! One that I’ve found helpful is to hold the egg with four fingers, crack the egg on the rim of a bowl or pan in between your middle finger and ring finger (like in the gap in 🖖🏻), and then twist.

I tried this recipe and the crumbs and icing were amazing! However the cupcake itself was a little too sweet. Maybe next time I’ll cut down on the sugar and chocolate by half🤔

@@carolinace7 lactaid pills don't work when you're dairy intolerant. You can't have dairy at all when you're dairy intolerant. I learned this with my first baby. I got mixed up and thought it was just lactose but it's actually dairy altogether unfortunately.
I'm celiac so I make a lot of their recipes but just swap out the flour for a gluten free blend. I bet you could swap out the butter for a df butter (maybe coconut spread) and df milk like coconut or almond. Otherwise I think everything else in the recipe was df!

Made these today and my cupcakes sank in the middle. :( Used freshly bought self-rising flour, butter was room temp, made sure not to overmix, double-checked the right amounts...the batter still didn't look right going into the tins.

The birthday pie crumb wouldn’t stick together or form balls, so I added about one tablespoon of water and mixed for a while until it balls formed. But while it was baking in the oven it spread and turned into flat layer. How could I make the crumbs without over mixing or adding extra liquid?

These look fab. I’ll have to give it a go. Can you tell me where you get your sprinkles from please. The reason I’m asking I can only get them from supermarkets which are really small and basically disappear when baking.
I've bought some "confetti sprinkles" from The Shire Bakery which is online. They work well in funfetti cakes like these xx

I am from Singapore. I never did baking before.. my son need to bake 6 cupcakes for a coming examination.
I cannot find a good recipe for 6 cupcakes only..
Result: Either turn up only have 5 cupcakes or more than 6 cupcakes. The examination require no extra or wasted.
I hooe you can help to advise me a 6 cupcakes recipe.. please help.

Damn….my butter was too soft and the cupcakes have come out horribly flat and a bit greasy! I’ll probably have to bin them😢
The birthday pie crumb wouldn’t stick together or form balls, so I added about one tablespoon of water and mixed for a while until it balls formed. But while it was baking in the oven it spread and turned into flat layer. How could I make the crumbs without over mixing or adding extra liquid?
