Because they are honorable warriors, they received the same training but they chose different path. Am I the only one who gets chills watching how easily Batman dodged banes punches at 2:52. Looks like he teleported almost, was straight up reading Bane and beat him at his own game.
The difference here from the first fight is the complete role reversal in desperation & Batman actually respecting a foe's power in an opponent for the first time. Batman isn't throwing himself at Bane in desperation to beat him, like he did in the first fight. As Bane said, ''you fight like a younger man, with nothing held back, admirable but mistaken''. Batman is still taking heavy hits from Bane but he rarely leaving himself wide open to a bad counter like he constantly did in the sewers. Here Batman is using controlled aggression always looking for an opening instead of mindless anger & desperation fueling his attacks. Previously, he always just would just overpower whoever he came up against, whether it was the Mob, Ra al Ghul, the Joker, Two-Face, etc..simply due to the fact he was more powerful physically. That's the mistake he made in the sewers. Previously he never had to take into account someone might be his equal physically or even more powerful which requires tactics & strategy. Here he continuously targets Bane's mask until it breaks. Also, while Batman is calculating in his attacks, Bane increasingly loses with cool, growing desperate just like Batman in the sewers, especially after Batman breaks his mask. Bane in the sewers used Batman's desperation against him, here Batman uses Bane's desperation against him.
+Ciaran O'Connell Both fights in "The Dark Knight Rises" are meant to mirror Batman's fight with the Mutant Leader in "The Dark Knight Returns." Batman first tries taking on the Mutant Leader using nothing but brute force, but is weak from his old age and gets beaten. Then, in order to defeat him and break the morale of his followers, he sets the Mutant Leader up to battle him again. This time, Batman is fighting on his own terms and puts more thought into how he engages his opponent. Clips from both encounters are on UA-cam and you can see the similarities.
Tom Hardy’s acting in this scene was phenomenal (he was great in the whole movie) but the look on Bane’s face when his mask breaks and then him trying to frantically fix it all while still fighting batman. The pure desperation of him trying to finish Batman off quickly was great
soberchimera61 Speaking of clever comeback lines, a good one would of been used way back in the first encounter with Bane. When he says "you merely adopted the night, i was born it it." Batman should of said "You may of been born in the night, but i am the knight."
No, that would've been stupid.. He was getting his shit pushed in at the time.. Him being the knight/night was irrelevant. But I see what you're attempting.
I feel bad for that brave but stupid henchman trying to bum rush Batman. "Hey, here's the guy who beat the shit out of Bane! I'm gonna give him the ol' what-for! What a great story this'll be to tell the kids! *HURK*"
Well, the idea was to make it look real without hurting each other. I guess you weren't supposed to notice it too much. Apparently, the director didn't with us.
I thought it was fine. The problem.is that when you have the main characters of the scene doing the same activity that the background characters are doing, the background characters have to tone it down so that way characters like Batman and Bane aren't upstaged.
LMFAO - 3:02. "I have a sawed-off shotgun - let me use it as a club." Also hilarious watching the "extras" engage in ridiculous acts of pretend fighting. Such an amazing trilogy. DC lost their way with Justice League. Dark and gritty superhero movies are the best.
@@alephmorricone7207 bruh, Batman takes that shotgun and gives it to Talia, later Talia gives it to Bane to watch over Batman, and when Bane say’s “We both know that I have to kill you. You’ll just have to imagine the fire” and points the shotgun at Batman, it implies Bane is gonna kill Batman with it, meaning the gun was loaded from the start, meaning Batman is protected by plot armor from guns. “DIRECTED BY ROBERT B WEIDE MUSIC PLAYS”
true story... I was running late for work because I couldn't find my car keys.. i started screaming in Batman's voice "Where is it? Where's my car keys"... my wife and kids couldn't stop laughing.. I then realize I should stop seeing Nolan's Batman movies..
True story: GF: "Stop watching so much TDKR and do the dishes" me: "Do you feel in charge?" GF: "No Pu#$#@ For you" Me:"this give you power over me?" GF: "get your s#@$ and get out" me: "Time to go mobile..."
It's just occurred to me what is so wrong with this battle scene. Nobody is on the ground. There should be bodies piled up all over the pavement, yet everyone is standing like it's a big street dance.
MrTitmeister Except when you realize he can't even take a few punches from Batman. Meanwhile, Batman is getting the shit beaten out of him, but he's still standing.
2:31 I just noticed that the sound of Bane’s mask leaking sounds like a pig squealing. I think that symbolizes how without his mask, his fighting style becomes more uncivilized and animalistic since the pain is making him lose his coordination.
This final fight between the caped crusader and Bane is goddamn fantastic. Everything about it is as if Christopher Nolan took their fight in the sewer at the beginning of the movie not mention the image of Batman and then flipped it all 180. 1) He's out in brad daylight. 2) He's fighting along the police who hunted him and drove him away in the past. 3) 1:55 Batman rises above Bane on a stair case similar to the first fight but this time instead of screaming in vane for a fight he cannot win he turns to face his enemy in silence. 4) Bane catches him with the same move as their first fight at 2:04 but then instead of it being used against him Batman manages to break free and breaks Bane's mask at 2:24 the way his cowl was broken in the beginning. 5) 2:41 Bane loses all the cool and calm attitude he was known for in the past similar to how Batman lost it on him and in turn loses the fight.
I initially wondered how he managed to slice or break off one of the tubes going to Bane's mask with a mere backhand, but then I realized he has the wrist gauntlets. Those same gauntlets that broke Ducard's sword.
He was already better than bane out of practice sure but batman has never been defeated by bane but once but batman was exhausted fighting all night with no rest imagine doing leg day at the gym than running a marathon but the above he should have beaten bane easily babe is a brawler who throws punches batman is a highly skilled fighter in boxing martial arts tai Kwon doe you name. It really pisses me off this.
***** You are missing the point. During the first fight he fought because he wanted a purpose not because he really needed to, that is why he lost. He wasn't a hero anymore he just wanted to be one. Then, when Batman left the hole, he did it by jumping without the rope, meaning that you are your best when you only have one chance and failure means your life and that is the attitude with which he fights Bane later. Failure to defeat Bane means death for him and all of Gotham's citizens. Heroes are born when circumstances demand them. At any rate you could say that Batman got lucky to destroy Bane's mask in the second fight anyways.
+Wyatt Putnam fight 1: Bane level 100 Batman level 60 fight 2: Bane level 100 Batman level 90 and Batman just wins because of the prison's training BUT especially for breaking Bane's mask at 2:25
I've always loved the parallel between this fight on the stairs in this scene compared to the stairs in the first fight scene. The first time Batman is weak and vulnerable and barely keeping up. He has to stumble up the steps and is trying his best just to stand. But the second time, he maintains his composure and is ready, and is able to hold his own. It's very subtle and insanely clever
well, as much as i like the movie, and believe me i do, but the "I came back to stop you" is incredibly boring. Something else to introduce and start the final fight would have been much much better.
I love that when Batman kicks the shit out of him he goes into the intimidating interrogation mode he uses on common crooks. It's just so fucking powerful.
I'm realizing after a more thorough look at this movie that both Bane and Batman's style are completely different. Bane's style is usually on the offense, trying to brutally attack anything in his path. Batman on the other hand uses a blend of defense techniques and tries to figure out his opponent's weaknesses, and this fight in particular kind of reminds of Rocky. It's not supposed to be this fast intense shaky cam martial art stunt work that you'd see in like a Jason Bourne movie, it's two guys viciously fighting for both their own lives and for the soul of Gotham. The stakes are personal, so their isn't anything flashy or fancy about it. Batman almost seemed to use this technique that Rocky uses: he waits it out for his opponent to get tired, and then strikes when the moment is right, but there's no bell, no rules, no refs, just plain all out brawl. Sure the choreography might be slow paced but that's part of the realistic universe that these characters have been adapted into. The gritty feel to the fights in these movies makes them seem like I'm way more emotionally invested in what's going to happen. Nolan did an amazing job with this one just like the other two in the Trilogy.
The idea of not fearing death is something i really love about this movie. you’re bot stronger for being reckless with your own life. Instead it should drive you to fight even harder to survive. When bane starts to lose he refuses to let death get the better of him. Its perfect
A battle between an army of cops (who want to regain justice in Gotham) and an army of criminals (who want full control of Gotham). This movie is a friggin’ masterpiece.
Am I the only one who likes the fight scenes in this trilogy? I mean, most Marvel movies fights involved lasers shooting and things flying around and those are cool-ish and all, but for some reason I prefer the fist fighting and martial arts in these films. They just seem more... "organic" and realistic, I guess.
sorry, in what DC Universe does the word "organic and realistic " apply? you're only watching a scene from a Batman movie. There are so many characters in DC who have powers, can fly, and shoot lasers. Wait till DC make the Justice League movie and you will eat your words when you see them fight.
Hoile T that's what DC is going for. Haven't you realized why Man of Steel has the same tone as The Dark Knight trilogy? dark, serious, and realistic as possible. DC thought The Dark Knight trilogy was the best with all the praise from critics and fans. They did the same with the Man of Steel but it didn't work because people know Superman has powers and you can't make it realistic. I'm telling you now, all the movies after Man of Steel will have the same dark, serious, and realistic approach because the president of Warner/DC said so.
Only thing that disappointed me about this fight is he finally beats Bane and its all epic and then a second later we hear: "WAHAHARES TRAAGGER!? WAAARS IZZZZ EEET!? YOUUD NEVAARR GIEEVE ITT TO A ORGINARY CITIZEN WAAARRS IZZZ EET!?" To be honest I saw people around me laughing in the theater lol
I remember when i watched this in 2012, when things were boring during that time. But when the dark knight rises came out, the movie changed everything, and watching this fight scene made the movie all the better. As bane gained the upper hand and broke Batmans back, to watching Bruce learn how to become Batman again. And the last fight scene, ALL OUT WAR, as Batman gets his rematch with bane and wins. I remember it ALL being exhilarating.
This scene is so badass, especially seeing it in the theatre for the first time your like 0_o "daaaaaaamn" Banes got that blind rage and Batman counter punches like a BOSS
You can see Batman going for Bane's face (his mask to be more specific) through the entire fight since now he knew that his mask deliver anesthetic, and it paid off when he managed to break Bane's Mask, you keep hearing the metallic sound of Batman punching him in the mask. In the first fight Batman wasted a ton of energy punching Bane in the chest and you could tell Bane didn't give a fuck (probably because of his drug) most likely that's why he lost the first time around.
Yes that's the biggest reason, but it was because he didn't fight for 8 years and his body was fucked up too (he was too arrogant thinking he could beat Bane with no training like he said while the discussion with Alfred in the batcave)
I like how after the mask is broken, Bane fights like a younger man, with nothing held back.

I love how Bane's fighting style gets more brutal and reckless when his mask gets damaged.
Love the thunderous soundtrack when Batman starts backing Bane up and 2:41 is my favorite shot. Vicious punches. Wish it was longer.
I love how when his mask is damaged, Bane becomes this wild savage animal instead of the composed brawler
He’s in fight or flight mode.
yeah i imagined its like a scuba diver losing his air supply. They freak out
Fighting like a young man… nothing held back. Admirable, but mistaken.
That 3 punch combo at @ 2:41 always gets to me, Tom Hardy was great as Bane
Batman is like ohhhh shit
I thought it was 5...
He miss all
@@mb2001 the last two were different, he landed on the pillar
Imagine being able to punch that hard into a pillar and break it twice
0:28 - Best comeback ever.
2:41 I’m fairly certain those three hooks had full contact based on the way Bale’s body reacts to them. Bale gets my respect.
Tom and Christian are method actors. They were brutally knocking the shit out of each other.
-"So you came back to die with your city."
-"No, I came back to break you."
soberchimera61 that would've been better.
soberchimera61 Speaking of clever comeback lines, a good one would of been used way back in the first encounter with Bane. When he says "you merely adopted the night, i was born it it." Batman should of said "You may of been born in the night, but i am the knight."
Legends of Fear actually, Bane said "you merely adopted the dark."
No, that would've been stupid.. He was getting his shit pushed in at the time.. Him being the knight/night was irrelevant. But I see what you're attempting.
soberchimera61 well then bane would have sued him for stealing his lines
I feel bad for that brave but stupid henchman trying to bum rush Batman. "Hey, here's the guy who beat the shit out of Bane! I'm gonna give him the ol' what-for! What a great story this'll be to tell the kids! *HURK*"
LAVATORR lmao
LAVATORR I died at the Ol' what-for! hahah!
Lol the ol' what-for
That was pretty damn funny!
+LAVATORR He rushed like a crazy man, with nothing held back... Admirable, but mistaken.
3:02, the impact with the gun on the guys face just makes me laugh every single time. Absolutely love this film
I’m pretty sure he dead lol 😂
😂😂😂😂
This is literally the U.S. atm
Right now even!
It just happened again today at the state capitol
Trump got impeached again and Biden is promised to get impeached on his first day on the job
If only it were that interesting. People are to frail and scared to really dirty their hands in a fight.
3:02
"Batman! Batman! Can you sign my gun!?"
Batman: GTFO! *Bitch slaps w/ gun *rejected
Plus he looks away right about he's about to be hit
''shut up, kid! need to beat a guy at the moment so piss off!''
Jack Daniels Why don't you fuck off!
dude? there's apparently a misunderstanding. I didn't mean you. that should be the answer of the question ''batman! batman! can you sign my gun?!''
Is this the only scene where batman is in day light?
+Nick K. yes
despite batman vs superman ware batman was kicking the shit our of FBI type ppl in a desert base but yeah, woops spoilers XD
wat .-.
Batman was in daylight a lot in both the 1966 show and film.
That was the dream of Batman..
2:14 I love when Batman comes back in the fight and the "Rise" or whatever theme comes on!
so epic!
This never gets old with regards to hand to hand combat.
The best, because it looks like 2 actual people fighting
Looks like this was extremely painful...
...for him.
He is a big guy!
I still don’t get why he would shoot a man though before throwing him out of the plane 🤔

+gorrow1990 it's rather 2:43-2:44 when he fights the tower
+szymusiek1980 Its flawless except for that second punch... no matter how much pain he was in, thats weird
+C Mac he is quite unfocused and deconcentrated because of the broken mask, he can't think so clearly because of the pain
+gorrow1990 Lol that's what i was saying to myself
I love how bad the background fighting is in some of these shots
Well, the idea was to make it look real without hurting each other. I guess you weren't supposed to notice it too much. Apparently, the director didn't with us.

I liked watching their fights to just see how "too fake" they were
I thought it was fine. The problem.is that when you have the main characters of the scene doing the same activity that the background characters are doing, the background characters have to tone it down so that way characters like Batman and Bane aren't upstaged.

LMFAO - 3:02. "I have a sawed-off shotgun - let me use it as a club."
Also hilarious watching the "extras" engage in ridiculous acts of pretend fighting.
Such an amazing trilogy. DC lost their way with Justice League. Dark and gritty superhero movies are the best.
Dark and gritty superhero movies are great for DC you mean. Dark movies wouldn’t work in marvel
That gun was out of bullets simple, and if I was that guy, I would never shoot at the Bat guy, I would pretend to just engage him
@@alephmorricone7207 bruh, Batman takes that shotgun and gives it to Talia, later Talia gives it to Bane to watch over Batman, and when Bane say’s “We both know that I have to kill you.
Did you find them?
I often yell like that when I'm pissed off.

It's just occurred to me what is so wrong with this battle scene. Nobody is on the ground. There should be bodies piled up all over the pavement, yet everyone is standing like it's a big street dance.

2:40 - Looks like Batman drove Bane Mad to the Max.
The best bit is when Bane is just wailing on him up against that pillar. Actually looks real.
Best part
Yea and he smashes a chunk out of the stone. Badass.
MrTitmeister Except when you realize he can't even take a few punches from Batman. Meanwhile, Batman is getting the shit beaten out of him, but he's still standing.
2:40 - 2:44 is when he goes crazy
***** He couldn't take the hits from batman because batman disconnected his supply of steroid gas or whatever it is.
2:31 I just noticed that the sound of Bane’s mask leaking sounds like a pig squealing. I think that symbolizes how without his mask, his fighting style becomes more uncivilized and animalistic since the pain is making him lose his coordination.
Nice observation mate
Lmao mate you're just thinking too much
2:41
Even with all his carbon fibre armour plates, I'm sure that must still hurt!

Oh the fighting in the backround of this scene was so cringe worthy.
3:30 Bane is like "Godamnnn, let me fix my mask first..shit."
Matthew McCoy good one
I know right yeah he's like back your ass up I need to fix my mask goddamn
May the Lord bless and guide you for he sent his only Son to die for you so that you may be with him forever . Go seek him with all your heart.
I initially wondered how he managed to slice or break off one of the tubes going to Bane's mask with a mere backhand, but then I realized he has the wrist gauntlets. Those same gauntlets that broke Ducard's sword.
2:41
One of the coldest moments in the DC universe
Fight 1: Bane: level 90 Batman: level 50
*Timeout* (Batman leaves to go work out)
Fight 2: Bane: level 99 Batman: level 100
Yeah because when batman was in prison, his strength and speed especially improved
+Wyatt Putnam
fight 1: Bane level 100 Batman level 60
fight 2: Bane level 100 Batman level 90
and Batman just wins because of the prison's training BUT especially for breaking Bane's mask at 2:25
+Wyatt Putnam When bane's mask gets damaged.... HE GOES INTO A RAMPAGE! He breaks apart a solid stone pillar ffs!
Best real fight scenes of all time in Superhero films without any CGI

well, as much as i like the movie, and believe me i do, but the "I came back to stop you" is incredibly boring. Something else to introduce and start the final fight would have been much much better.
I think a simple change, "I came back to break you!" would have made it much better.
Yep, would have been better
LMAOOOO god. I hate the fucking internet! Now I’ll never be able to take this movie seriously again
love the realistic reaction of bane being in pain. first its pain, then sudden blinding anger, then he's lying on the ground like a baby.

That combination at 2:40, together with the music, sounds looks like Bane is beating Batman like a drum. That's class right there
Check out the desperation Bane showed at 2:40. It's so terrifying.

"No, I came back to Beat the shit out of you."
"No, I'm here to take you down!"
When Bane said "So you came back to die with your city…" I think Batman should have said "No…I came back to die FOR it."
It should have gone like this: (tee hee)
Bane: Ah Batman, the FIRE rises!
Batman: No, the DARK KNIGHT RISES!
Foxtrot323 Yeah, that or "No... I came back to save it."
And then Bane mentioned his mom's name: "Martha".

2:38 lmao the two people fighting in the background just suddenly disappear
The idea of not fearing death is something i really love about this movie. you’re bot stronger for being reckless with your own life. Instead it should drive you to fight even harder to survive. When bane starts to lose he refuses to let death get the better of him. Its perfect
I love the messages this movie gives. This may sound weird but I view this fight as me as Batman and bane as whatever hardship I’m facing.

2:45 fights like a younger man , with nothing held back , admirable but mistaken
That's why I said I may be the only one who likes it
I like them too.
sorry, in what DC Universe does the word "organic and realistic " apply? you're only watching a scene from a Batman movie. There are so many characters in DC who have powers, can fly, and shoot lasers. Wait till DC make the Justice League movie and you will eat your words when you see them fight.
Dayreel I don't understand what you're saying. When did I mention the whole DCU being realistic?

0:07 When Batman show up in USA as people rioting each other.

In the first fight Batman wasn't at his prime, he lived in seclusion for over 8 years without any training.
***** That isnt entirely true. You can hear another pipe break when he punches the mask near the end of the fight
***** it was years
***** the other guy was talking between the dark night and the dark night rises
Yes that's the biggest reason, but it was because he didn't fight for 8 years and his body was fucked up too (he was too arrogant thinking he could beat Bane with no training like he said while the discussion with Alfred in the batcave)
