  • "An eye for casting"
    This multi-segment documentary digs into the script, the production, and the final cut of the film. It includes quite a few revealing tidbits and interviews that don’t reek of the usual EPK trash. Williams and company are gracious, honest, and engaging, making it a breeze to sit back and enjoy everything they have to say.

    I was born in 1984 .. i was raised by my mother and she loved Robin Williams , I was raised on his films .. Mrs. Doubtfire, Hook, Bicentennial Man .. im sure it sounds weird to say this , but growing up without a father figure , I looked up to the men I watched on tv , sort of gathering father figures .. John Goodman from Roseanne , James Avery from fresh prince .. and of course good ol’ Robin Williams .. it’s true. You could see and feel the love and emotion in his eyes ..and in movies like Mrs. Doubtfire and Hook , you can really feel the father like connection he had with these child actors .. miss you Robin Williams .. thank you for all your beautiful films and the memories , they made my childhood magical 🖤

      Because these ppl put a part of their heart, soul, genuine personality into their roles onscreen (authentic parts of themselves) ❤. Back in the 80s-90s family movies 🎥 really had heart, soul, warmth.. and early 2000s.. I kinda get u 😅..

      My favorite Robin Williams movie was Beginnings about the psychiatrist who awoke comatose patients. It was a drama role. No hysterics nothing comical. It proved Mr. Williams true talent as an actor. But the common denominator was, this character was a lonely single doctor and it was played to perfection. You should watch it and study Mr. Williams eyes in it. Same thing. You see the raw pain that comedy had been hiding for so long.

    Fun fact and I heard this in the behind-the-scenes interview of one hour photo. Whenever Robin was doing a Serious role he would always be hysterical behind the camera. Whenever he was doing comedy he would be completely serious behind camera.

    This is one of the funniest movies with Robin williams,even the funniest! I love it and Sally field was amazing.I guess the actors had to have big fun on the stage and share many laughs..Robin really looked like a 60 year old woman. Impressive! I don’t get invested in celebrities lives or consider myself to “care” about them. I do think, however, that since Robin Williams was such a huge part of my childhood, i.e. Mrs Doubtfire, Jumanji, Aladdin, Hook, Fern Gully.... those were all my favorite movies as a kid. It almost felt like I lost a parent. I can’t imagine what it was like for his family to lose him. I hope they’re all at peace or will soon find it. He gave laughter and hope to a lot of people, and will forever be treasured.

    Robin once made fun of me on "The Tonight Show" after I accidentally passed out on camera and he came over during the commercial break to shake my hand. (January 17th 2003) He was actually very quiet off camera, but when the lights came on, he was a totally different character.

  • @KombatGod
    @KombatGod 5 років тому +2

    The casting in this movie was perfect. Not only, obviously, Robin Williams, but all the supporting actors fill their role perfectly.
    I especially like Pierce Brosnan's character, because he is a legitemately good person, even too perfect, so when you look at him through Miranda's eyes you understand why she likes him, but when you look at him through Robin William's character's eyes you undertand why he hates him. And you are even able put yourself in his own shoes and see that he legitemately loves the family and understand why he thinks Robin's character is a bad role model.
    It takes a really great actor (and of course great writing and directing) to convey all this in a supporting character.

    Classic as usual Robin Williams can bring. His whole adaptation of characters is evident in his off screen comedy antics. When he passed on by taking his own life, my heart sank to the bottom. I struggled with my own ideologies of both why Robin and if someone shared with him about Christ maybe we'd still have him? Such a classic movie, glad I was born into this generation to see it😁👍

      It says at 0.24 that Chris Columbus’s interview was in 1994, so Pierce would have been cast by that point.
      Interestingly, Pierce was actually cast as Bond back in the 80’s for The Living Daylights, but NBC wouldn’t let him out of the contract he had for Remington Steele.
